5 Self Care Tips

Image
Taking care of yourself is really important, especially for your own mental health and wellbeing. Below are five self-care tips that I think really help to improve your life for the better. 1. Go For A Walk I know it's winter and it's cold but there's just something refreshing about going on a winter walk. Wrapping up warm in a coat, scarf, hat, and gloves can help with the cold but as soon as you start walking then you'll soon warm up. It's not healthy to stay in the house all the time and a walk doesn't have to be boring. Go with a friend or family member or even by yourself. Take some headphones and listen to some music or an audiobook which will make your walk less boring. Go somewhere exciting like on the seafront or some woods or even just around your street. It's also a great way to exercise and set yourself a challenge to do 10,000 steps a day just to really motivate you to go for a walk. It's the perfect way to do a little self-care by just gett

West Side Story Review

Image
I realised I haven't done a review in a long time on this blog, and I thought why not do one now. Especially after going to see the new West Side Story and realise it bombed in the box office. That surprised me a lot because I honestly thought it was a great adaptation of a classic film.  Now I know the thing with remakes is you can't help but compare it to the original. Remakes have started to get a bad reputation especially with Disney bringing a new one out every year. Another issue with remakes is when it happens to be a musical. Take Cats for example which bombed very hard and also the fact it competed against other big films during that period. The same goes for West Side Story where it is competing with big films. Also Covid makes it a little more difficult. I'm sure if Covid wasn't around then West Side Story will have done way better.  Here are my thoughts on Steven Spielberg's West Side Story.  I absolutely loved it and thought it was a nice take on the or

Tidy Home Tidy Mind

One thing I've been meaning to do this month is tidy my bedroom. During the winter my room has been a little mouldy and also felt a little cluttered to me. As much as I love my cute décor in my bedroom, the amount of dust it picks up is ridiculous so I thought I may as well have a sort out of my room.  It's always a struggle when you decide to have a tidy up because when you start pulling things off your surfaces to wipe and everything just ends up cluttering on your bed, you start to regret it. With a little burst of motivation though I managed to tidy up my room and it's just a satisfying feeling afterwards when you've finished. Everything looks so much neater and less cluttered. I've managed to get rid of the mould on the ceiling and it feels very refreshing. I've even changed my bedsheets too. To end this tidy up, I had a nice bath and put on fresh pyjamas this evening which feels lovely in my tidy bedroom.  All worth it in the end.  Anyway, I hope this post

My Dream Dates

Image
I have only ever been on one date in my life and that was a meal then playing in the arcade which was honestly very fun so it may be a little tricky to top but I do have some dream dates that I would love to experience. I thought I may as well share with you my list so if any future partner of mine is reading this will know where to take me or this may give you some ideas for dates to do if you're struggling for ideas. These are just some of my dream dates that I would love to go on.  1. Cinema Date One of my favourite things to do is go to the cinema and I would love to experience an actual cinema date. Most people may not like this date because you have to be quiet but I think it will be a romantic date. Especially if it's a movie you're both excited for. You can share popcorn and a drink together. You do all the typical romantic things like holding hands and resting your heads on each other. I just think it will be a cute thing to do.  2. Theme Park Date I love rollercoa

Finding Motivation In January

Image
January is a weird month because it's the first month of the year but it's the only month that seems to last forever. One minute it's January next minute it's August and you wonder where the time goes. It's also confusing because you're expecting every year to come up with goals and resolutions for the years that you stick to them for a week before forgetting all about them for the rest of the year. Unless you have a birthday in January there's nothing much exciting happening in January. Even the new year just comes and goes then everything is back to normal. Xmas decorations come down. The weather is rubbish because it's too cold or too wet to do anything exciting. It's a struggle to find the motivation to be either productive or keep fit. It's a struggle so I thought I'd make a list of how to find motivation in January.  1. Go Outside This may be a struggle. Especially if it's cold or wet but all you need is your coat, hat, scarf, glove

Happy New Year!

2022! New year, new me! That's what they all say, but eventually you come to realise there is no difference between today and yesterday.  I know I'm getting older because I didn't even stay up until midnight and went to bed about 10pm. To be fair I was awake at 4:30am for my 6am shift yesterday so I was very tired last night. So, what resolutions and goals do we all have this year? Last year, mine was to be happy and to be fair I think I achieved that.  This year I'm going a little bigger with my goals.  My first goal is to finally learn to drive. It has been a long time coming, but I think I'm ready. The next goal is to get fit. The lack of exercise in my life is a little ridiculous and my weight has been slowly going up these past few years. This year though I want to change that and get down a size or two. This isn't for anyone. Just me. My weight is the only thing I want to change about myself so I'm ready to do just that.  Another goal for this year is
