January Favourites

Image
It's the end of January which means, it's time for a favourite post. I plan on trying to do these favourite posts every month for the year and see how we go on. This one definitely has a theme of true crime in it which I'm sorry about but at the same time, I'm sure many people have similar interests. Anyway, these are all the things I've enjoyed in January. Good Girl, Bad Blood by Holly Jackson This is the second book of the series A Good Girl's Guide To Murder. This one really intrigued me because it was Pip trying to investigate what happened to Jamie Reynolds who is missing. The story was full of lots of twists and turns. I found myself listening to the last twenty chapters on my train home from my Dads on New Year's Day. Twenty chapters does seem like a lot but when you listen to audiobooks on 1.8 speed then it flies through the forty four chapter book and on a four and a half hour train journey, it gives me a lot of time to get through the whole book on

Motivation

After posting for the entire month of December, it was a wonder I still had motivation but I realised that with a bit of determination you can really put your mind to things if you put in the effort. Honestly, the secret to being motivated is effort. If you really want to do something then you have to put in the effort for it. If you read my previous post, you know that one of my new year resolutions is to publish 150 blog posts in 2024 and in order to know that then I need to put in the work. I don't have an awful lot of legroom to take blogging breaks this year as I did last year and of course that means I have to put in the effort to keep motivated. Now you may be wondering how I do it. Honestly, I use the simple art of self motivation. I tell myself, I need to and when I have a bit of free time in my day. Whether that's in the morning before work or after work, I take some time to write a post. Even if I just spend an hour writing up a couple of posts. It really helps me ou

Things That Make Me Happy

Image
We all have things that make us happy and it's always important to remind ourselves of those things. Especially if we ever find ourselves having a bad day. It's always good to find something that makes us happy. That's why I thought I'd share a list of all the things that make me happy and maybe it could inspire some of you to do the same. Let's make this year a more positive year and do the things that make us happy.  Let's get started.  1. Reading a good book  Honestly, I absolutely love reading a good book. Just that feeling of getting lost in a story. It's a great feeling especially when it's a good book and you can't put it down. I'm really excited to get back into reading and read as much as I can this month. I'm even considering making a reading journal or even sharing my thoughts on all the books I read this year. Maybe even do a summary of all the books I read in a month. Either way I really enjoy reading and it is one of these thing

Chapter One

Happy New Year! Hello 2024! We made it through another year! The start of a new chapter of a new year. It's nice because it falls on a bank holiday which means I get a lovely day-off. I'm actually spending the first day of the new year travelling by train home and trying to hope that there's no delays along the way.  It got me thinking about my new year resolutions and I figured that I'll do resolutions that I actually want to achieve this year. I think the more realistic you make your goals the more likely you'll achieve them and also if you have a couple of goals rather than a whole list it will make it so much easier for yourself to achieve.  I thought I'd share my goals of 2024 with you to give you a little inspiration and motivation for this new year.  Get a car One of my biggest goals for this year is to get myself a car so I can finally be able to drive myself around. I've been longing to drive to different places and honestly this has been a long tim
