Happy Mothers Day

Image
To all the beautiful mothers out there, Happy Mother's Day.  To some of my readers across the ponds. Today in the UK it's Mother's Day. I don't know why we have a completely different day to other countries, but we do. I think our Father's Day is the same day everywhere but mother's day is different. I don't know who decides the days, but I guess they wanted different day. Oh well. I thought I'd talk about my mother. She is a single parent who raised me and my brother when we were teenagers on her own and she is honestly the best mum ever. I consider her like my best friend which may sound weird because she is my mother, but we do so much together. We go shopping, go out to eat and even travel together. My mum always tells me she doesn't mind staying in a hotel with me because she knows we'll have a relaxing time. My mum means so much to me and I'm so happy to have that unbreakable bond with her. I know I can tell her literally anything, no m

Never Had A Boyfriend

Image
Yes, I am twenty five years old, and I've never had a boyfriend. You always think that school and university would be the time to be in a relationship, go over all those relationship milestones and be content if you are single. However, when you're twenty five years old and have never even been in a relationship it does make you question everything. Now I have been with three guys in my life with the third one being the one I'm currently seeing at the moment but as yet, none of them has ever crossed the relationship line where it's all official. I didn't have my first kiss until I was twenty one and on that same day, I popped my cherry. Now perhaps that was my fault because maybe things moved very quickly. Yet that first guy nearly broke me because what I thought would turn into a relationship ended with me finding out I was the other woman, and he had a girlfriend of over four years. I wasn't even the other woman because his words to me were I was just a bit of

How To Budget

Image
1. Make A List Before You Shop One thing that helped me before I did my weekly shop was to go online to see how much everything I needed was. It also helped me to find out if there were any special offers on too. It allowed me to write down the prices and work out how much my shop would come to. If it was just for me, I would budget around £20 for my weekly shop and try to buy things I know I'd use and could last for one or two meals.  2. Meal Plan Another good tip is to meal plan. Make a list of all the meals you will have for the week then work out what ingredients you have to make within the house and what you need to buy. It's useful to use anything you have. Buying things like chopped tomatoes is a good option because they can be used in lots of dishes plus it's a cheaper alternative to buying pasta sauce jars. Buy a few herbs like basil and oregano to add flavour too. It will help you in the long run if you plan your weekly meals.  3. Write down all your monthly outgo

Switching Off

Image
The other day, I decided to switch off from Social Media. The amount of time I spend scrolling through social media is ridiculous sometimes and so I switched my phone to aeroplane mode and did not go on it. I even told myself not to go on my PlayStation 4 (which has become a habit recently) until the evening when I can relax. Therefore I wanted to spend as much time offline as I possibly could.  I even made a to-do list of all the things I wanted to get done during the day.  The first thing I needed though is coffee because coffee is life and yes, I am a coffee addict.  One of the things I've been meaning to get done was sort my clothes out. I have clothes all over the place in my wardrobe and chest of drawers but there was no clear organisation. Therefore, I went full Kon Mari mode and dumped every single piece of clothing I own onto the bed. Luckily, we have a spare bedroom in the house where I could dump them on in case this took forever. The result of the pile of clothes is the

You Can Do It

Image
This is just a little Saturday blog post to remind you that you can do it.  Whatever it is that you don't think you can do, you can do it.  That piece of assignment you're struggling with, you can do it.  The awkward end of relationship talks with that toxic person in your life, you can do it.  Exercising, you can do it.  That holiday you're unsure of going on, you can do it.  Spring cleaning the house, you can do it.  Going to work, you can do it.  Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone, you can do it.  Whatever it is that's bothering you then you can do it.  Even if it takes a random blog on the internet to inspire, well here I am to say you can do it.  Nothing is impossible really and the thing you may be dreading isn't as bad as you think it might be so just go for it.  Because at the end of the day.  You can do it.  Thank you for reading my blog and I'll be back soon with another post.  See you then.  Megan x  *This is not a sponsored post*  For business

Dissertation Survival Guide

Image
I may be a little late to the party as I assume dissertations will be due in around March/April time or maybe this might be the perfect time who need any sort of motivation to keep going with their dissertation. I thought I'd come on here and give any of you who may be procrastinating your dissertations right night a little bit of advice maybe even some inspiration to throw on top of that. As someone who has done a 10,000 word dissertation and a 14,000 word dissertation plus got a 2:1 grade on both of them, I thought I'd give you some tips on how to get through your dissertation.  1. Communicate with your supervisor Everyone gets a supervisor when they do a dissertation. Usually, you first meet your supervisor with a group of students who may be doing similar topics but most of the time it will be one on one with your supervisor. My biggest tip is to communicate with your supervisor. My biggest tip is to communicate with your supervisor no matter what because they want to help

Happy Things

Image
I thought I'd do a fun little post where I share all the things whether big or small that make me happy.  Harry Potter I don't know what it is about Harry Potter, but it is an incredible comfort to me. Whether it's rereading the books, listening to the audiobooks, watching the series, or even playing one of the many video games. It just makes me so happy. I am blessed to be part of the generation that grew up with Harry Potter. I didn't read the books in the beginning, but I watched the movies in the cinema when they came out with my family, and it just brings back so many happy memories for me. Particularly because the first two movies was watched with my late Granddad, so it brings back some fond memories of him too. I can't even fully explain why it makes me happy, but it just does. I know I can watch any of the Harry Potter films and enjoy it. I've been rereading or rather listening to the audiobooks every year. Sometimes twice in a year because it just make

Spring Is Here

Image
It is the beginning of March and I always find this time to be the beginning of spring. It's a happier time because the weather is starting to get warmer. Days feel longer because it gets darker later on due to the clocks going forward. Flowers start to bloom and it's also the perfect time to have a good old spring clean.  I'd say Autumn is probably my favourite season for many reasons but there's a lot to love about Springtime and I thought I'd share what I love about Spring: Today just so happens to be Pancake Day so a great excuse to eat pancakes The perfect time to do a Spring Clean and organise your life by decluttering things you don't need The days feel longer as night comes later because the clocks go forward Giving up something for lent (whether you do it or not, it's always fun to give something up for 40 days like chocolate, takeaways etc.) It makes you feel good when you do achieve it. I'm thinking of giving up chocolate this year. Easter Egg
