Books!

Image
I've been doing a lot of reading recently which makes me so happy because I love getting lost in books. It also just feels nice to sit in silence and just read my book. That's pretty much the only thing I've done aside from watching Ru Paul's Drag Race. I actually ordered two books yesterday and they arrived today (thank you Amazon Prime) so I thought I'd make a post today about books. The current book I'm reading is Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell. I started reading it today and so far I'm very intrigued by it. I'm only on Chapter 13 but I can tell this is one of those books I'm going to finish in a day. I've actually been setting myself that challenge recently and so far I've been very successful. I'm looking forward to where this story goes. Now for my new books. It's been a month since I've had a new book so I was very excited when these arrived today. The first book is The Switch by Beth O'Leary. I had heard

Rainy Day

Image
I love rainy days, especially as most of the time is spent inside. It's kind of nice when it rains so we're not tempted to go outside. One thing I do love to do when it rains is read because it's kind of a nice background noise and often I don't like to hear loud noises while I'm reading because I'll get distracted. It kind of fits in well because I'm currently reading The Secret Garden which is my favourite children's story. I love my copy because I found it in a charity shop ages ago and it just looks so beautiful. I always love classic hardback books and I love the smell of them too (I'm not sure if that's weird or others feel the same but I thought I may as well mention it) From my bedroom, I have a nice view to my mum's room and her window has a green field which usually has either sheep or cows on it. Although on this rainy day, nothing is on it except wide open green space. I always feel grateful to live near the countryside and I

Favourite Apps During Lockdown

Image
I try not to be on my phone all the time and most of the time I'll either use my laptop or PlayStation. Although I've discovered I do have a few favourite apps that I find myself always going on because they bring entertainment and stop me from being bored. I thought I'd share some of these apps in case you needed some new app recommendations. I'm not sponsored by any of these apps so all these thoughts are my honest opinion. 1. Golf Battle At my Dad's house, we have a Nintendo Wii and one of my favourite things to do while I'm down there is play Wii Sports Golf. It brings out the competitive side to the family and it's a joy to play. Anyway long story short, I wondered if there was a golf game in the App Store and here's where I found Golf Battle. It's so fun because it's like crazy golf but you get to play online on different levels with people around the world. I am so addicted. 2. Audible I love listening to audiobooks and A

Being Shy

Image
Have you ever been known as the shy one or the quiet one? Because same. I was the girl in school that never raised her hand, class presentations were the end of the world and group work was scary. Of course if you were my friend at the time, you may see the opposite side to me. I like to talk and have a laugh but in class, I wouldn't dare talk or draw attention to myself. The only exception was PE (Physical Education). Which may come as a surprise as I'm fully aware a lot of people hated PE in school. For me though, my confidence grew and I didn't care who noticed, I was like a fireball and always took part. Even when I forgot my PE kit. For two years I had this amazing PE teacher who was honestly the best. I was in the bottom set of PE (as I wasn't very active) and yet I didn't let that hold me back. Some of my best memories of school were in PE. I was just a hyperactive teenager that couldn't be stopped and had a lot of confidence. Whether it was netball

Summer Bucket List

Image
Obviously Summer is probably going to be different than the previous summer's we've had. No holidays. No festivals. Not even going onto the beach with friends. Keeping socially distanced. However, all this is not going to stop me from creating a Summer Bucket List with all the things I want to do which is acceptable during these uncertain times of lockdown. Plus involve staying at home. So here is my Summer Bucket List. 1. Read all of my TBR on my bookshelf I always find the Summer the perfect time to get some reading done as it's nice weather and you can pretty much read everywhere. My goal is to read all of my bookshelf before September rolls around as I should hopefully be off to university by then.  Also it will feel great to know I've read all of my books on my bookshelf so I won't have to feel the guilt of buying a new book. This goal is a little ambitious as I am a bit of a slow and lazy reader but I do hope to do a lot of reading this Summer. 2. Finis

Motivation For Off Days

Image
We all have off days where we feel so unmotivated to do nothing productive. Especially with this pandemic when you spend a lot more time in the four corners of your home. It's hard to find motivation when everything just feels the same. Here are a few tips that I've found useful for keeping motivated on off days. 1. Have a dedicated work space I find having a dedicated space in your home to do your work is a great way to feel motivated. I would avoid working from your bed or even the sofa as they are comfortable plus will make you feel a little lazy. I would definitely recommend working at a desk or if you don't have a desk, try working at a dining room table. At least you know when you sit down at your desk, you're in working mode then you can leave your sofa and bed for times when you want to relax and just be a little lazy. 2. Tidy up I don't mean go crazy with cleaning your entire home, I mean just clear up any clutter around your work space. If you'

Looking At The Positive

Image
Now obviously at this point, we're all frustrated and want things to get back to normal but I have a feeling things won't be normal for a while. Although I do hope they will be normal by the end of this year. I kind of hoped 2020 would be the best year ever. Of course we are all aware that is not the case. I do hope to look at the positive side. I'm planning on going to university in September to study a masters and I was a little worried this whole pandemic would mess with those plans. Luckily though the university has been really supportive by emailing their plans for September so I know at least one thing in my year is going to plan.  It just makes me realise that in situations like this we need to look at the positive side. We should all be grateful that we are alive and well but also that are family is also safe too. Just think when this is all over that it will bring us all closer together (quite literally) but it will make us realise who are the important people in o

June Update

Image
Hey readers! Now I did mention in my previous post that I may be posting everyday in June. I'm going to be honest with you and say I've been really lazy because I haven't done much writing or even made any blog posts. Obviously today is June 1st and I didn't want to not post nothing just in case some of you were expecting me to make a post today.  I'm making no promises with how regularly I post in June. It could potentially turn into everyday or every other day but I hope to post more regularly than I have done these past few months.  It's still confusing times at the moment so I want my blog to be a place where you can just escape for a little bit and have a little read. Maybe you'll even find something you can enjoy and if you fancy a chat then I'm always open to talk. I'll leave my blog email address at the bottom of this post.  So yeah, this post is kind of short but I thought I may as well be honest with you and say that I may not be posting ev
