July Favourites

Image
We have finally reached the last day of July and this is the last post after a whole month of posts. I honestly didn't think I'd get this far but making these posts everyday has given me the motivation to keep blogging so don't worry I have plenty more blog posts planned for the rest of Summer and I may even do another whole month of posts again for Blogmas so stay tuned for that as well.  It only seemed right for my final post in July to do a favourite post as there have been a few things I've been loving this month and I thought I'd share them with you.  1. Peaky Blinders Honestly, I love this show and have only ever watched the entire series once so this month I ran out of things to watch and decided to binge watch the entire series throughout the month. I've only reached Season Four so I still have the final two episodes of the season and two more seasons to go before I finish the series. It's just one of those shows that is done so well and of course wi

What's In My Carry-On?

Image
The summer holidays are finally here and that means it's the perfect time to go abroad for the Summer. I'm actually not going abroad until September but as someone who gets very excited and plans everything ahead before going on holiday it will be no surprise that I've already planned everything I'm taking in my carry on. We also have checked luggage for the plane so all my clothes and toiletries will be going in there but, I thought I will share with you my carry-on bag and everything I'm planning on bringing on the plane with me.  Let's get started. 1. The Bag For my carry on bag, I didn't want to have a big bag this time because last time I went on holiday, I had to store my backpack in the overhead locker as it didn't fully fit under the seat and it just makes it difficult to get everything you want out of it for the flight because you have to keep going back and forth to the overhead locker which is just awkward. That's why I decided to have a s

The Art Of Self-Love

Image
Yesterday, I talked about if I will ever find love and so I thought it was a good time to make a post about the art of self-love. It's really important to make sure that you are taking good care of yourself and love yourself. We are all beautiful human beings and all unique in so many different ways. Not one of us is the same as the other as we all have different appearances, personalities, interests and history. The best way to find love is to first love yourself and I want to share a few habits you can include in your life in order to learn the art of self-love. 1. Be Yourself Honestly, you are a beautiful person. The easiest thing you can do in your life is be yourself. It's so much harder to be somebody you're not, whether that's trying to copy someone's personality or appearance on a daily basis. That's too much effort to do all the time and it's also not good for you as much as you're losing the person that you are. My biggest tip when it comes to

Will I Ever Find Love?

Image
I mean 2023 was an interesting year for me because in January I decided to start online dating again. Before you know it I had met a guy who I started dating with then suddenly we became official and then by May my heart got broken. This year I got to experience what it's like to have a boyfriend for a short period of time and honestly it was very nice because at the time I loved him and he loved me. We went on dates together and messaged each other everyday as well as meet up once a week. It was a nice period of time but, like most things in my life, all good things must come to an end. Now, I'm a single woman with no interest in online dating for a while as I'm worried the exact same thing will happen. It's why the question that goes through my mind is will I ever find love?  When it comes to dating and relationships, I'm definitely the perfect example of someone who experienced those things later on in life. My first kiss was at the age of 21 as well as my first

Ways To Save Money

Image
With the cost of living going up everyday and inflation on prices just being normal. It can be a struggle to figure out how to pay for things and sometimes you need to save money in order to provide for your family and yourself. I thought I'd share some tips on ways you can save money this summer.  1. Budget This is pretty obvious but budgeting is honestly key when it comes to saving money. Sometimes you may think that because you have money in the bank right now, you can spend it here and there but the truth is by the end of the month you find yourself short every time. Budgeting is really important for this as it makes you realise all your incomings and outgoings. Make a list of all your important outgoings like rent, utility bills, phone bills and roughly how much you spend on groceries. Next work out how much you get paid every month, it doesn't have to be the exact amount but an average of how much you get. Now take away the total amount of what you would spend on the impo

My Feel-Good Songs

Image
Music is such a powerful thing because there is a song for almost every mood. Sometimes the lyrics relate to how you're feeling or the song just puts you in a better mood than you were. I thought I'd share my top five feel-good songs that always put me in a better mood. 1. I'll Be Okay by McFly One of my favourite albums of all time is Wonderland by McFly. I can listen to all their songs on repeat as most of them are my favourite McFly songs. However, I'll Be Okay is one of those songs that really puts me in a better mood because it just shows that even when life gets you down at the end of the day, you're going to be okay. It's just such a good bop and I love it when I hear it. From the guitar intro to the lyrics to the chorus just making you want to dance. It is definitely a song that makes me feel good everytime I hear it.  2. Your Song by Ewan McGregor, Moulin Rouge Now I know this is an Elton John song and he of course sings it very well. However, when I wa

Evening Routine

Image
As I did my morning routine on one of my previous posts, it only seemed fitting to do an evening routine post too. This was on a normal evening and honestly I had no real plans for this particular evening but it's a pretty standard evening and a typical one nonetheless.  Let's get started. My evening tends to begin with food. I feel like dinner time is always the time when your evening begins. For dinner, my mum and I had a Tesco meal for two deal and it was Chicken in Cabernet Sauvignon with some vegetables and for dessert we had two chocolate tarts which were really tasty. While we ate dinner, my mum had Elvis on so I ended up watching a bit of that while I had my dinner. After dinner, I tend to go back to my room to chill out. Sometimes I'll even have a bath or shower but on this day I showered in the morning so I didn't really need to do it this evening. As I live at home with my mum, my bedroom is where I spend most of my time except for when I have dinner or Coron

Toxic Friends

Image
Have you ever experienced a very toxic friendship because I have.  Luckily for me, mine was back in secondary school in Year Ten and I've never let anyone treat me the same way this person treated me because this person really messed me up and honestly, I think this was where I started to choose who I let get close to me. Of course from the many failed dating experiences I've had, this hasn't really worked out well. Honestly though, this person was so toxic that honestly I'm glad they did what they did so I no longer have to even acknowledge in my life. It's also where I realised the signs of a toxic friend and I thought I'd share my wisdom so that you never have to deal with a toxic friend in your life or you may have a current friend that is showing these signs then this is your chance to block that friend from your life because honestly nobody has time for that.  Here are the signs of a toxic friend. 1. They talk down to you If you find yourself being spoken

My Favourite Audiobooks

Image
As someone who loves a good book, sometimes I struggle to find time to actually sit and read a physical book. This is due to being busy travelling to and from work or just wanting to do something else instead. Something I've loved for many years now is a good audiobook because it has allowed me to listen to a whole story while I also do other things like walking or just travelling. I thought I'd share some audiobooks that I've really enjoyed and would highly recommend if you're interested in reading books. I use Audible and sadly don't have a promo code to offer you but I believe they do have a free trial if you are interested in audiobooks. Anyway, let's get into my favourite audiobooks. 1. The Harry Potter Series I feel like I had to mention this as honestly I really enjoy listening to these audiobooks and end up listening to them every year. That's why if you ever check my Goodreads stats you'll see every year I've consumed the Harry Potter series

Morning Routine

Image
I thought I'd share with you a classic blog post and that is my morning routine. Now this is honestly a typical morning for me every weekday as I work five days a week and this is something I do every day. Let's get started.  I usually wake up around seven or half seven in the morning, depending on when I have to start work. The first thing I do is go downstairs and make myself coffee. I honestly cannot function in the morning without my coffee so that is an essential part of my morning. I'm one of those weird people that doesn't eat breakfast in the morning. It's just something my body is so used to that it's normal for me, unless I'm staying in a hotel then I would happily head for the breakfast buffet but when I'm at home, I'm never in the mood for breakfast so the coffee makes up for that. I will then bring the coffee back to my room and make my bed. I always have to make my bed in the morning, otherwise the temptation to get back into bed is rea
