Feeling Meh

Image
We all have those days where we can't really explain how we're feeling.  It's neither good nor bad, it's just all a bit meh.  You find yourself overthinking every little thing in your life.  You may get the random feeling that everyone hates you for some reason yet there is no obvious thing you've done for them to hate you, or you haven't even had an argument. You just assume that everyone hates you for whatever reason.  It's a confusing feeling as you don't even know where you stand in your own life.  You may have regrets over things you have or haven't done.  It all comes down to feeling meh and you don't even know why you feel this way. Nothing can change your mood or cheer you up. You may end up staring into endless space or just trying to do something you usually enjoy then find yourself still feeling bored.  Either way, feeling meh is just easier to say than explaining what's really going on because you can't even put into words how

Should You Get A Master's Degree?

Image
As someone who finished her master's last year and ended up getting a merit in the end. Was it all worth it? Well, it was different for me because I studied during the pandemic and only went to face to face lectures about ten times but most of the time of it was spent online which honestly sucked. I know the convenience of online lectures, but you feel very isolated from everyone and don't even really know the other students in your lecture. You're sometimes forced into a breakout room which is even more awkward because you don't even know who you're working with. Sometimes, you felt yourself switching off during the lecture because it would just be a PowerPoint presentation with no interaction the things sometimes went wrong like the screen would freeze or you can't even see the presentation. The one good thing to come out of it all was I learned how to work in a group remotely and even became the project manager of the group plus do a group presentation entire

What's In My Bag?

Image
I can't even remember the last time I did a what's in my bag blog post, so I thought why not do one now as it's an old school post plus I'm not going to lie, I'm always curious what people keep in their bags and thought why not share what's in my bag.  So let's get started.  This is my everyday bag. I recently purchased it from Matalan because I fancied a new everyday bag. It's a simple black crossbody bag and it is the perfect size for me. It has a zipped pocket on the outside and there are three compartments on the inside of the bag. I've used this bag almost every day since I got it.  This is the inside of the bag and as you can see has three compartments. It looks a bit like a mess right now but it's an organised mess. The only thing not in my bag is my phone as I was using it to take photos but usually, my phone is in my hand or pocket anyway. So let's take a look at what's in my bag.  The first thing I pulled out of my bag is my reu

She Believed She Could So She Did

Image
On this day in Wales, it was particularly rainy day and my guess almost the last few fragments of Storm Eunice and the beginning of Storm Franklin. The weather is bleak and miserable outside which meant it was the perfect time to read a book. I find the sound of the wind and rain almost relaxing especially when you're inside and the perfect background noise to a good book.  I was shopping yesterday and went into Waterstones. I was looking for a book for ages and thought maybe I can't find one. Then I saw this colourful pretty book with one of my favourite quotes on the front.  'She Believed She Could So She Did' I knew right there I had to pick it up and have a look at it.  It's a modern woman's guide to life and it's by Sam Lacey. I had a flick through and a read of the back. I thought why not and as it is my determination to always buy a book when I'm in a bookstore was when I bought it.  I started having a read of it in the car and I was hooked. It st

Study Tips

Image
As someone who has finished school and done university twice, I know how stressful it can be to revise for exams and do assignments. You may think February is too early to start studying but honestly the sooner the better. I thought I'd share my tips for getting through studying and writing assignments. Write a list of all your deadlines in order I know that may seem daunting but it's really important to have a visual of when all your deadlines are and when they're due. It will make you realise how much time you have to do each one. Plus when you finish that particular assignment it's satisfying to cross them off. Making a list of your deadlines just helps to prioritise which assignments you need to focus on.  Start finding references early The hardest part of assignments is finding the references to back the points you make. It may be a struggle to find some, but you do have access to the resources at your fingertips. Lectures tend to have their lecture slides availabl

My Reading List

Image
If you've read any of my previous posts, one thing I really enjoy is reading and I've bought some new books recently so I thought I might share with you all the books on my reading list.  So let's get started. Current Read: The Endless Autumn By Annabelle Knight I came across this book when I was browsing Amazon for books and decided to type in Autumn as that is my favourite season plus, I thought it would be a perfect time of year in a book. However, this book was one of the first results and when I saw the cover, I thought it looked beautiful that I had to get it. I read the synopsis just to be sure and I related to it so much. It is about a woman named Autumn who believes she has the perfect life with the job, boyfriend and best friend who then gets her heart broken. It leads to Autumn needing to change her life drastically. As someone who has had her heart broken many times, I thought I can relate to them. I've never actually heard of Annabelle Knight, and I believe

Treat Yourself

Image
So yesterday I bought myself some roses for myself because they're my favourite flowers and I thought why not, it's Valentine's Day and nobody else has ever bought me flowers. I know it may seem like it's a sad thing to do but why should it be sad to buy yourself flowers when you know nobody else is going to. I enjoy buying flowers for myself especially roses because they look so pretty, and it feels good. Plus it's a mystery to other people when you're buying them in the shop especially on Valentine's because for all they know it's for a special someone, but you know full well it's for yourself and I feel it shouldn't be a crime to treat yourself especially on Valentine's Day because it is the day of love and there is no better love than self-love.  I even treated myself to a bottle of wine and ice cream because why not plus I had steak with my mum for dinner so really it was a nice day overall. I know I said yesterday I felt full of self-pi

Valentine's Day Disappointment

Image
Well, here we are again. Valentine's Day and I find myself spending it alone. Again.  I surprisingly thought this year might be different but sometimes life gets in the way, and you find yourself feeling even more confused about your own love life than ever before. I think this year feels even more disappointing because the previous Valentine Day's I knew there was no hope in having a Valentine, so I planned a single's appreciation day which usually involved feel-good movies, a takeaway, chocolate, and popcorn. Just a happy day to myself.  This year though I had hope that maybe I might have plans for Valentine's Day with a special someone but the closer the weekend got the less likely that seemed possible. So here I am on Valentine's Day feeling slightly disappointed and not even bothered about doing anything nice. Just staying offline and pretending this day doesn't exist seems to be how I'm going about today. At least I have the day off work.  I know this

Video Game Nostalgia

Image
Something I don’t really talk about on this blog is video games. Probably because I’m not some hardcore gamer with the latest consoles. I literally only have a PS2 (which is the best console to ever exist) and a PS3. Although I’m hoping to get a PS4 soon if only it would come back in stock where I live. It will happen one day. Anyway, I wanted to go on a little nostalgia trip of game series that is a very memorable part of my childhood and I thought why not share it with you right now. Tomb Raider PS1 Bet you didn’t think I’d be mentioning a PS1 game first well I am. This game and the whole series have a lot of memories for me. I grew up with a big brother and a dad who owned the PS1 (yes, I am that old) and one of the games they played was Tomb Raider. Now I didn’t play it myself because I was a scaredy cat and the wolves on the first level terrified me. I just have memories of watching either my brother or dad play this game. I was mesmerised that they were playing a female chara

It Must Be Love

Image
February is the month of love. Whether it's the love of someone else such as a partner, family member and a friend or the love of yourself. It's a good time to appreciate what you have in your life. Be grateful to the people that bring joy to your life. Show your appreciation of them by doing something special for them whether it's writing a card/letter sharing how much you appreciate them or giving them a small gift that they would like. Offering a small gesture to show your appreciation of someone who means a lot to you can reignite your love of one another.  Of course, don't forget about the love you have for yourself. Just think there is only one of you and nobody is quite like you. Treat yourself with something you enjoy whether it's food or something you've been wanting for a while. Go for it because life is short. Also learn the art of self-care. Spend at least once a week taking care of yourself whether it's doing something to better your health or j

My Favourite Book

Image
Anyone who knows me will know that Harry Potter is my favourite book series of all time, but I feel like Harry Potter is its category so surprisingly I'm not going to talk about them.  My favourite book came out of nowhere but when I did get it and started reading it, I couldn't put it down which is the best kind of book. I've discovered that I love contemporary, romance books as most of my bookshelf are full of them. I just love a feel-good book and contemporary romance always provides that for me. I found this book on YouTube through Book Tube and this book was highly recommended if you're looking for a good contemporary romance book.  So what is my favourite book?  Well... Yes, it's Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. I was so excited to get this book because I heard such good things about it so the minute it arrived, I started reading it and I couldn't put it down. It related to me because I've had many crushes in my lifetime but there's a
