Let Us Be Whoever We Want To Be

Sure the world is crazy right now and most of our days are spent in the walls of our home. It's almost like we're trapped in a box except we are allowed outside as long as we follow our government's guidelines which is fair enough because we are keeping ourselves safe but also saving others in the process. They say this is the new normal which people are either really excited about or unhappy about. The truth is though: What is normal? In my opinion nothing is normal. There is no right or wrong way to live your life. You can be whoever you want to be and live your life how you want to be. The most important person in your life is you and don't let anyone bring you down or tell you what to do. Of course listen to government advice and obviously obey the law but other than those two things then you can do what you like. Start a blog. Do some writing. Let all your thoughts and feelings out for others to read. You never know, your words may impact on someone in a positi

Day In My Life

Image
I thought today I would do a Day In My Life post but I thought I would do something a little bit different. I thought instead of taking photos of every single thing I did that day, I would just use 10 photos. I was inspired to do this by a post I saw on Pinterest. It just gives a little glimpse of my day and as my days are not very exciting so I thought this would be a fun idea. So here is a day in my life through 10 photos. I can't start my day without coffee. I'm sure the amount of times I mention coffee on this blog, you will realise I am a bit of a coffee addict. I have tried going a week without coffee and it was horrible so I gotta have my morning coffee.  On this day I decided to do a bit of work for my future. You may or may not be aware but I've been accepted to do a masters degree in Manchester this September so I thought I'd get some research done on it just so I'm prepared for what's to come. I bought a box of five Cadbury Creme Eggs

Planning

I think now more than ever we should be planning for our future. Afterall, we never really know what is going to happen in the future or how long this thing is going to last. For ages I was confused about what I wanted to do in the future. I never really had a clear objective and to be honest I am still not quite sure what to do with my life. I had plans to move to Manchester in a one bedroom flat and just figure it out from there. Although I realised that is not how it works. I felt a little unhappy because I thought I was letting my family and myself down. Afterall, I went to university and got the degree but I don't know what to do with it. I guess I felt lost. I guess growing up and following your dreams is easier said than done. Now though I have a new plan and I feel like it's going to work. At least I'm hoping it will work and get me one step closer to where I want to be. In September, I am going to be moving to Manchester but to do a master's degree which I

Not So Bad

So I went outside today. Shocking I know. Well, me and my mum went for a little ride today through our town which is okay because we're in our car. We also needed milk. While we're driving around town and decided to go shopping in Tesco. We hadn't been there for like five weeks when this pandemic began and it was little crazy then. Sometimes in life you just got to jump in the deep end so we decided to go there and it wasn't so bad. They have an arrow system like in Ikea and the staff were really friendly. It was actually pretty nice. Of course there is a few rebels that decide not to follow the arrows but the staff put them in their place. I was a little afraid to go to Tesco but now I won't mind if me and my mum decide to do some shopping. I just walked by myself with my basket in front of mum and it was okay. I think now we're kind of used to the normal that shops have also made their methods better for everyone. So yeah, I thought I'd share with yo

4 Things Every Adult Should Know

Image
Considering I am twenty three years old, I consider myself an adult and I've had a few experiences in my life and learned a few things. Now every adult is different. We all have different backgrounds, lifestyles, careers and a whole load of things. However, there are a few things that I think every adult should know. Whether you've just turned eighteen and entered the world of adulthood or just reading this in the hopes of learning something new then this is the post for you. Whether you take on my tips or not is entirely up to you. This is just a fun little post about things every adult should know. 1. Washing up is not optional Whether you love it or hate it. Washing up is just a part of life. Now I've never been blessed with owning a dishwasher so I have no idea how beneficial they are. Although the point still stands. Washing up is not optional. It's a pretty obvious tip but after being in university, I have discovered that many do not see it that way. I know

No Day But Today

Life is a precious gift and we should all live it the best we can as you never know which day is going to be your last. Especially in these unpredictable times. We should all be grateful that we're alive today and sure life may be a little shitty but at least we're still breathing. I've been listening to music and a song stuck out to me. It's called Finale B from the musical Rent and it's a beautiful song, I would recommend you give it a listen. There's a line which is "No day but today" which is a reminder to live each day as if it was your last. You never really know what tomorrow is going to bring for you or if you have your whole world turned upside down when you least expect it. Let's make the most of each day, even if it's staying inside. At least you're safe and also saving lives too. Just do things that make you happy. Write down all the things that make you happy that you can do in the space of your own home then do it. If you

Morning

Image
I start each morning just like everyone else starts their morning by waking up and having a great view of my ceiling. We're living in a strange time where we have to stay at home and on this particular day, I had no real plans. Although I can't help but appreciate how tidy my bedroom looked this morning after tidying it the night before. Of course no morning is good for me until I get my morning coffee to enjoy by my bedside. Yes I did get up from bed just to make some coffee to then get back into bed. I decided to have a lazy day. Also my mum had just come back from a night shift on this morning so I needed to keep quiet anyway so that I didn't disturb her. So a lazy day is understandable.  I managed to get up to grab my laptop from my desk because no lazy day is complete without a laptop. The first thing I did was catch up on Eastenders because I hadn't watch the latest episode yet so that was one way to kill some time. After catching up on

5 Year Plan

Image
Do you ever just think about where you would be in five years time? I thought it would be a fun post to share with you my five year plan and maybe I can look back on this post in five years time to see if I've achieved any of my goals. In five years time, I will be twenty eight years old which actually feels kind of scary to me but we all must age every year, right? So here is my little checklist of my five year plan: 1. Complete my masters degree  For those of you who do not know, I have applied to do a master's degree this September and been accepted with an unconditional offer. It's really exciting for me because I cannot wait to go back to university again and it will help to achieve my future career goals. This masters degree is also with an internship so I'll also be able to gain the relevant experience to progress further in my career. Hopefully in five years, I will have a master's degree. 2. Get a job in an advertising agency I have a degree i

Single

Image
It's kind of weird, when I was younger I always thought life was meant to go a certain way. I used to think that when you're a teenager you get into a relationship and experience all your firsts. First kiss. First dates. First time. I remember being in school, developing several crushes on boys in the hopes that one day they'll notice me and ask me out. Let's just say that never happened and school was pretty lonely in that I never had a boyfriend.  I felt like the odd one out because it seemed like everyone had been in at least one relationship and there was me not even experiencing a first kiss. I thought there was something wrong with me. That's when I had a glimmer of hope. University. Going away, meeting new people and hearing about stories of students getting up to all sorts while in uni. It made me think that I'll be able to experience my firsts at least once in uni and perhaps even get into a relationship. Well, for the first two years nothing hap

My Desk Space

Image
I thought why not give you a little glimpse at my desk space. Now I don't have a fancy huge desk and it's not the most Instagram worthy desk but it's simple and I like how I've set it up. I find I work well at my desk and it's my own space. It's where I work on my blog and write my novel. Whenever I sit here it's my own little work space. So here is a little photo tour of my desk space. So that's my desk. It's a very simple set up but I like it that way. I find desks don't need to be cluttered. Of course there's a few random trinkets but they make me smile like my Pig Popper which I find very stress relieving. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed a photo tour of my desk space. Thank you for reading my blog and I'll be back tomorrow with another post. See you then. Megan x  *This is not a sponsored post* For business enquiries or just a chat email: megantimeblog@gmail.com
