Summer Bucket List

Obviously Summer is probably going to be different than the previous summer's we've had. No holidays. No festivals. Not even going onto the beach with friends. Keeping socially distanced. However, all this is not going to stop me from creating a Summer Bucket List with all the things I want to do which is acceptable during these uncertain times of lockdown. Plus involve staying at home. So here is my Summer Bucket List.

1. Read all of my TBR on my bookshelf
I always find the Summer the perfect time to get some reading done as it's nice weather and you can pretty much read everywhere. My goal is to read all of my bookshelf before September rolls around as I should hopefully be off to university by then.  Also it will feel great to know I've read all of my books on my bookshelf so I won't have to feel the guilt of buying a new book. This goal is a little ambitious as I am a bit of a slow and lazy reader but I do hope to do a lot of reading this Summer.

2. Finish my second draft of my novel
I am going to be honest with you. I have not done much writing since finishing my first draft. I'm still halfway through working on the first chapter of my second draft. I'm hoping though that I'm going to find that motivation to keep writing and hopefully my second draft will be finished by the time Summer ends or nearly finished.

3. Learn how to play bongos
I bought some bongos under a year ago and while I've attempted to learn to play them, they've mostly been used as decoration or a doorstop. I'm not trying to be an expert but at least learn the basics to bongo playing and carry out a good rhythm.

4. Start exercising
Now I've been struggling with my weight for a while. I just love food. Recently though I've been getting into a new healthy regime by eating less and sticking to three meals a day plus healthy snacks I love. One thing though that I struggle with is exercise but I hope to be able to get into a healthy exercise regime. Mostly so I can feel a little better about myself plus not feel guilty when I'm indulging on treats. So yeah I hope to be exercising on a regular basis this summer. Of course I've been going on walks everyday so I am feeling like I'm losing weight but hopefully an exercising regime will help with that too.

5. Have a wardrobe clear out
I have a lot of clothes in my wardrobe that either don't fit me, never wear or don't even want yet keep because they were gifted by family or friends. I've been very much into decluttering and getting rid of things that don't spark joy (thank you Marie Kondo) which includes my clothes. Now as the weather is getting warmer and I need to sort through my summer stuff plus go through any winter stuff that I didn't wear. That way I can see what I really need and like as well as see what I don't need. I hope to have a big wardrobe clear out as I'm moving in September so it will be easier if I have less clothes.

6. Have a movie day
During this lockdown, I haven't had a full movie day which included popcorn, fairy lights and a dimly lit room. Almost like you were in the cinema but at home. I hope to have that movie night and may even make it a themed night. I've always wanted to try the Harry Potter marathon challenge or maybe watch a load of musicals or even another movie series like Pirates of the Caribbean. Although when I do eventually get round to it, I'll be sure to make a blog post all about it for you guys to enjoy.

Those are just some of the things on my bucket list. I'm sure there's plenty more but I just can't think of them right now. Let me know what is number one on your bucket list. I would love to hear it in the comments below.

Thank you for reading my blog and I'll be back again soon with another post.

See you then.
