Motivation For Off Days

We all have off days where we feel so unmotivated to do nothing productive. Especially with this pandemic when you spend a lot more time in the four corners of your home. It's hard to find motivation when everything just feels the same. Here are a few tips that I've found useful for keeping motivated on off days.

1. Have a dedicated work space
I find having a dedicated space in your home to do your work is a great way to feel motivated. I would avoid working from your bed or even the sofa as they are comfortable plus will make you feel a little lazy. I would definitely recommend working at a desk or if you don't have a desk, try working at a dining room table. At least you know when you sit down at your desk, you're in working mode then you can leave your sofa and bed for times when you want to relax and just be a little lazy.

2. Tidy up
I don't mean go crazy with cleaning your entire home, I mean just clear up any clutter around your work space. If you're working in your bedroom then give your bedroom a quick tidy up. I find I get distracted from my work when my surroundings is cluttered and messy. Plus sometimes tidying up is obviously productive so doing something productive will motivate you to be more productive.

3. To Do Lists
I live by to do lists. They help me focus on what I need to do and it just feels great ticking things off my list. To do lists don't have to be huge long lists just write down what is manageable for you. Even if it's just three things on your list, you're still being productive either way.

4. Go outside
I know we're meant to be in lockdown but you can still go outside to get some fresh air. It's good for your mental health and well being. I feel so lucky that I live near the beach so I can go for a walk on the promenade and it feels so refreshing. Just as long as you keep your distance from other people then you should be fine to go for a walk. It will refresh your mind and make you feel a little better about doing your work.

5. Take care of yourself
Of course, don't force yourself to work if you really aren't feeling motivated. It's important to make sure you're taking care of yourself. Try to do a little self care and make yourself feel better. Whether that's having a pamper session or just doing a bit of exercise. Taking care of yourself and making yourself feel better will really help you in the long run plus will make you feel more motivated.

Anyway, I hope these tips were helpful in finding motivation on off days. It's confusing times at the moment so just do what works for you and everything will be okay.

Thank you for reading my blog and I'll be back again soon with another post for you.
