Motivation For 2021

Now that the holidays are over and we're four days into 2021, motivation may be a little down at the moment so I thought I'd share with you five tips to get you motivated for 2021. Of course you can use this motivation all year round but it's good to get motivated at the start of the year.

1. Tidy Up
As it's the beginning of the year it's the perfect time to give your home a little tidy up. Especially with putting away the Christmas decorations, you may as well have a whole day of just tidying. Maybe do a bit of decluttering. See if there's anything that you didn't use in 2020 that you may not need anymore. Sometimes it's good to start fresh and honestly it feels great when you've finished tidying up. It's almost like your cleaning up everything from 2020 which honestly is a relief in itself.

2. Wake Up Early
I feel like I always say this in terms of being productive and feeling motivated. It honestly works though. When you wake up early, you have more time in the day. I never fully appreciate mornings sometimes. Yeah it's a bit of a struggle especially if you had a late night and you feel so tired, but the more you do it then the more you get used to it. You can just use the mornings to take your time and relax yourself before starting to be productive. It doesn't have to be super early but maybe try waking up half an hour or an hour earlier for one week and see how much more motivated you feel. You'll have so much more time during the day and then you can reward yourself with a day of working and being productive by relaxing for the night. Doing something that makes you really happy like reading a book or playing a video game or watching your favourite movie. It's entirely up to you and you may find you like this new routine in your life.

3. Take a break
Honestly done overwork to the point where you're stressed out and freaking out about everything. It won't help. Always remember to take breaks from time to time in order to reset your mind. Go for a walk for half an hour or eat some lunch or enjoy a cup of tea. Taking a break is a good thing because you can't work properly if you're stressed out so remember to take some time for yourself to reset then when you get back to work you'll have a clearer head and be able to focus better.

4. To Do Lists
Another tip I always highly recommend for motivation and feeling productive but to do lists is the ultimate key for motivation. It allows you to list off all the things you need to do and the best part is that it doesn't even need to be huge long lists. It can be three or four things you may need to do. Plus it honestly feels great when you cross the last thing off your list because it means you've had a very productive and you can just relax for the rest of the day. Also don't feel like you have to complete everything on your to do list in one day. Make it for the weekend or two days where you need to be productive. It spreads the work out and you won't feel so overwhelmed with work.

5. Go Outside
After spending the majority of last year inside, sometimes a change of scenery is just what you need. Go outside. Whether that's to do the essential shop or get your daily exercise in. Sometimes fresh air is just what you need. Find your nearest woods or if you live nearby a beach, go for a walk there. Being cooped up inside all the time is not great for your state of mind so get yourself out there. You can even make it fun. Go with someone from your household or go by yourself. Listen to your music or an audiobook so you don't feel so lonely then just enjoy the beauty of mother nature.

There you have it. Those are five ways to get motivated for 2021. Let's start this year as a positive one and let's actually make this year the best year ever as last year was such a let down.

Thank you for reading my blog and let me know if you have any tips for getting motivated for the new year. I would love to hear all about them.

I'll be back again soon with another post for you.

See you then.
