Special Someone

Image
You may have noticed little hints recently in my blog posts and some of you may have figured out something that has happened in my life. Now this is not a tell all, reveal all the juicy details kind of post because honestly I'm not that kind of person. Yet I feel like I need to mention something on my blog as this is a part of my life and I do like to give little updates on my life. Anyway, here goes. Yes, I have a special someone in my life. I've been seeing him since June and he makes me very happy. I haven't really opened up about it to many people as I'm a private person and sometimes the less people know the better. I'm also a private person and I don't really like talking much about my private life because that's just the thing. It's private. All I can say is he's made me very happy, he's pushed me out of my comfort zone and tried new things. Best of all though, he likes me for me and I like him for him. He's someone I can't imagine...

Coffee Chat

Image
Today’s post I thought I’d do a little rambly post while I drink coffee. I haven’t done one of these in a while so I thought why not do it for one of the days I’m posting everyday for a month. I got my coffee here so let’s get started. So how’s everyone’s first week of September been? Mine was a little chaotic with work but it was also good because I got to spend time with my favourite person twice which was very nice. Honestly having someone to hang out with and spend time with is so nice. Especially when you’re so used to being independent that you never thought you’d know any different but it’s honestly nice. Knowing I can be independent but also I have a special someone to spend time with. It’s great. Although I spend my time living out of an overnight bag, it’s worth it.  Other than that, nothing else has really been going on in my life as of yet. I do have a concert I’m going to in about two weeks time to see McFly VS Busted which I’m very excited about. I also booked a holid...

How To Prepare For University

Image
September is probably a nervous time for a lot of you as some of you may be going off to university or college for the first time. It’s an eye opening experience because it’s your first real opportunity of being an adult. It can be exciting but also very daunting. As someone who went to university twice to do a bachelors and masters, I learned a few things along the way. Of course this isn’t just a post for the freshers, maybe you’re a returning student that might need a refresher on how to prepare for university. Either way I hope there’s something for everyone. Let’s get started. Make sure your accommodation is sorted This may be an obvious one but hopefully you did it all when you got accepted or applied. I can’t actually remember if it was before or after I got accepted but either way make sure you know where you’re staying. The first time around I stayed in the quiet halls of residence which actually wasn’t very quiet but it was pretty decent. It was more a case of no noise after ...

What's In My Work Bag

Image
I thought I'd do something a little different and instead of sharing what's in my everyday bag, I thought I'd share what's in my bag that I take to work. Now as I went through the items, I realised it's not majorly different to my everyday bag but it does have a few extra bits. I love nosing at what people have in their bags so I thought I'd share what's in my work bag. Let's get started. This is my work bag. I got it from Amazon over a year ago. It's a Miss Lulu bag and I love it because it's the perfect size for everything I need for work. It's also nice as it has short handles that make it easy to carry but also has a long shoulder strap. This bag is just perfect for work in my opinion. Now let's look inside. Here is my lanyard with my work keys on. I'm not going to show you my work keys for obvious reasons but this is my lanyard I wear them on. I believe the dolphin lanyard actually came from one of those rock dummies that you can...

Autumn Bucket List

Image
I love this time of year during Autumn and for those of you who want to say, it's not Autumn yet. To me it is. I always feel like September, October and November are the Autumn months and it definitely feels like it. I thought I'd share all the things I want to do in the next three months in a bucket list and hopefully be able to cross them off as the months go.  Let's get started. Go for an Autumn walk I want to go for a walk where the leaves have fallen and crunch under my shoes. I want to be able to pick up some conkers and just enjoy the Autumn weather. Bundle up in a jumper and a coat. Just enjoy seeing the colour changing leaves on the trees and just enjoy nature. Maybe even take a hot flask with me and enjoy some hot chocolate while I walk. I'd love to do that a lot this month to go for an Autumn walk.  Go to a concert I mean technically I'm already doing this as I'm going to see McFly VS Busted this month but I thought I may as well add it onto my bucket...

September

Image
I can't quite believe we're in the ninth month of the year. I feel like this year has flown by. I've had such a good year so far by visiting different places and spending time with some great people. This month also means it's the start of my favourite season which is Autumn. I honestly love this time of year with the weather cooling down, I get to wear jumpers and go for walks where the leaves are falling. September also feels like a new beginning because it is that time of year where people are going back to school or going off to university. It feels like a fresh new beginning.  This month I'm also excited because I'm seeing McFly vs Busted in Birmingham this month which I'm so excited for. I honestly can't wait for that. Other than that I don't have much else planned other than hanging out with my favourite person and working. I think some family are also coming to visit which will be nice. Yeah this month is going to be a pretty chill but nice m...

August Favourites

Image
We've come to the end of another month, I can't quite believe it's the end of August and the end of Summer. You know what that means, it's time for a list of everything I've been loving this month. This month has a particular theme but it's what I've been loving. Let's get started Hell's Kitchen I decided to watch Hell's Kitchen this month. I was watching series 21 as it was on ITVX and I know the next two seasons were also on there. I forgot I'd watched series 21 as it had been a while but watching it I remembered I had seen it. Even though I've watched it before I still enjoyed watching it and it's just a comfort show, it's an easy watch and who doesn't love hearing Gordon Ramsay swearing left, right and centre. It's therapeutic in a weird way. Definitely something I enjoyed watching this month. Tenable This is a surprising one for me as I don't always watch quiz shows but recently I've been watching this as it...

August Reads

Image
In August, I did quite a bit of reading. I've been slacking with my reading and fallen behind on my Goodreads reading challenge which is twenty five books. This month I decided to read again as the first book I read made me realise how much I love reading and got me back in the reading game. I just love how a book can transport you to a different world and let you escape real life. I'm not going to lie, I read a lot of good books this month and I thought I'd share them with you now. With Love From The Morisaki Bookshop by Satoshi Yagisawa This book is a duology which is at Days At The Morisaki Bookshop and More Days At The Morisaki Bookshop. I picked this book up a while ago when I was browsing Waterstones for a new book and this one caught my eye. It’s such a pretty cover that I had to get it. I’d also heard of this book from somewhere and I thought why not. It follows the life of Takako who finds herself moving into her Uncle Satoru’s bookshop after a heartbreak. It sees ...

How To Keep Motivated In August

Image
Summer is a time where the weather's warming and it can be a struggle to keep motivated to be productive, especially when the sun's out and all you want to do is be outside. I've been struggling with motivation as I'm trying to keep posting when I can and next month I'm planning on posting everyday for you all. It's a struggle to find motivation but I thought I'd help by sharing some of my tips to help you keep motivated in August.  Let's get started. 1. Keeping your space tidy I don't know about you but I cannot stand it when I'm trying to be productive and my surroundings are cluttered or messy. Before I do any kind of work or writing, I need to clear my space so I will have a quick tidy up, put clutter away and just make sure my working space is clear. Tidying is also doing something productive so technically you're being extra productive by tidying. I also find after tidying up that I always want to do something productive. For example, I...

August

Time for the eighth month of the year and the height of summer. Yet I still have to work. Although unexpectedly I have a couple of trips lined up. Today as you're reading this I'm currently heading up to Manchester for a weekend away to visit my brother but also to do some shopping as pay day was yesterday. I'm also excited to go to Primark which is one of my favourite shops and it's a treat to go there when I can. Especially in Manchester because I'm so familiar with the layout, I know exactly where I am. The following weekend I'm actually going down to Bristol to visit my dad's family who I haven't seen in a couple of months plus I get to enjoy a bit of time off work which is always the best feeling.  Recently it feels like I've been living out of a suitcase or an overnight bag because last weekend I had two sleepovers, one at my best friend's house and the other at a man's house who I've been seeing for a while now. I'm not going t...

July Favourites

Image
The end of another month means it's time for another monthly favourites update. Let's get started. Johnson’s Baby Shampoo I was looking for a way to clean my makeup brushes and normally I’d buy a specific makeup brush cleaner. Yet those are always so expensive and I never know if they work properly. I remember ages ago on YouTube someone recommended Johnson’s baby shampoo so I decided to give it a go. All I can say is it worked perfectly. It cleans the brushes so well and because it’s a gentle shampoo I know it will be okay for my skin after cleaning my brushes with it. Plus it was very satisfying seeing the makeup coming off the brushes. Definitely something I’d be using again and again for when I clean my makeup brushes. I highly recommend it.  Bratz Rock Angelz PS2 I have a lot of ps2 games that I’ve kept for nostalgia but also because they bring back so many memories. I also am fortunate to still have my PS2 so from time to time I will play on it. I was looking through my g...

My Writing Journey 3

Image
This month, I'm going to be honest I haven't done an awful lot of writing on my novel. I've had other things going on and my novel writing took a little back seat. I'm hoping to really get back into next month and take it more seriously. I might even set myself a deadline to complete the first draft. Although, I don't know if I want to put too much pressure on myself but maybe setting a realistic deadline will be useful. Anyway, onto the actual progress of my novel.  Current Progress As it stands I've written 11,021 words so I have made some progress in my last update. I ended up writing the epilogue for my novel as it was one I was looking forward to writing. The best bit about writing is people think you have to write from start to finish but the reality is you can work on any chapter you want. You can even work backwards if you have a really strong idea for the climax of your novel. It's especially good to remember you can write any chapter you want, espe...

July

It's the seven month of the year, we are now over the halfway point of 2025. It seems like only yesterday we were saying goodbye to 2024. Now we're finally in Summer. What a year it has been already, I got my first car. I've been on holiday in Majorca. I'm currently writing a novel. Last weekend, I went to Manchester and made lots of other memories. It's been a good year so far. This month is exciting because I'm actually going on a caravan holiday next week. I'm very excited about it because I've been wanting to stay in a caravan for a while. It's just me and my mum in a three bedroom caravan in South Wales. We're staying in a Haven park which is always exciting. There's always good entertainment and it'll be a nice week off. Even though I not long ago had a week off, it's nice to have another. I know with a caravan, it's a self catering holiday but it's exciting, you're still away from home. You're in a new place, yo...

June Favourites

Image
This month, I definitely watched a lot of shows because this list will consist of three shows I watched. I couldn't think of anything else as a favourite for this month so sorry about that but these three shows I thoroughly enjoyed this month.  Let's get started. Not Going Out I recently watched old episodes of Not Going Out. It’s a series where you could watch any series and pick up what’s going on. I watched the new series recently and I was a big fan, it did have some moments that were funny but as it was mainly Lee and Lucy with the absence of Lucy’s parents, Anna and Toby. It didn’t have the same familiarity. It did have some funny moments like the Oasis and Hotel Room episodes I enjoyed. Yet it did feel like it was missing the other elements of the show. I’m aware there will be a series 15 and I kind of hope they bring back familiar faces like Lucy’s parents or any of their friends or even the children grown up. Either way this is a series I will continue to watch and rew...

My Writing Journey 2

Image
Thought I'd share another update of my writing journey as progress has been made. I've done two thousand words worth of research which includes my novel's logline and road map. This has really helped me as I've outlined different points of my novel which I wasn't sure about before but now it feels like it's coming together. I know that this road map is not set in stone as ideas can change but it's a starting point. Definitely worth creating a road map for your novel as it helps you to map out where you're going with the story. Definitely splitting into Act one, two and three also really help with it.  It definitely helped when I decided to do some writing in a coffee shop one day. I find writing in different locations can really spark motivation. I took my road map with me and was in the middle of writing a chapter when I went there> i got myself a caramel latte and set myself time to work. I like writing the old fashion way with a pen and my notebook...
