Packing For The Weekend

Image
Going away for the whole weekend is always exciting and that’s exactly what I’m doing this weekend as you’re reading this post. The one thing I always struggle with is how much to pack so I thought I’d share my packing process on how to pack for a weekend away. Let’s get started.  Organise your clothes Figure out what you’re going to wear. Are you going to be going out somewhere for a meal? Are you going to be mainly chilling and watching movies? It’s good to be prepared but it’s also good to be realistic. Pack what you know you’ll definitely wear but also it’s good to pack a nice top just in case you do go for a meal and it’s nice to pack something like leggings if you know you will have a chance to relax. Also don’t forget pyjamas and your underwear. Toiletries I’m someone that always has a toiletry bag ready to go because sometimes you never know when you need to go somewhere. Also recently as I’ve been going away a lot to visit my special someone, I’m constantly packing an over...

Not Perfect

Image
I’m not perfect and one of the reasons why is I missed a day or two of posting. Not going to lie, I was slightly busy with work that I completely forgot to check everything was on track and I forgot to schedule one or two posts. It will happen where I may miss a day or two but I will make it up to you with even more posts as my goal is 30 posts this month at least so maybe when I miss a day, you may get double posts on some days.  Either way, I hope you can forgive me if you were checking back on my blog for a new post these past couple of days and nothing was there. Life got so busy that I forgot to update my blog. Luckily I have posted all the posts now so that we’re back on track for 30 posts this month and yes I’m including this post as it is still a blog post. It’s not a perfect blog post but as I mentioned before I’m not perfect. It still counts as I’m giving you an update on the lack of posts but I’m also letting you know that everything will soon be back on track again from...

Rainy Days

Image
There’s just something about these rainy days that I love. Especially when you’re inside, don’t have to go out. You can just sit and listen to the rain. It’s nice when you’re doing something like reading a book, watching a movie and playing a video game while you listen to the rain out there. I’m a weirdo that will also just stare out the window and watch it. I love it. Even though it’s a pain, especially when you have to go out in it, if you have a decent coat it’s honestly fine. Now that I have a car, it’s a lot easier for me to go out in the rain whereas before I’d have to brave going to the bus stop or the train station. Now it’s slightly easier. I still love it though as I’m learning a lot about my car's windscreen wiper features as it has different settings.  It’s inevitable for the rain to come as we’ve had a lot of sunny days in Summer, it’s nice to have a bit of rain back. Maybe it’s a little too much but who cares, it’s Autumn and it rains. Get used to it. I’m someone who...

Autumn Self Care

Image
It’s important to have a little self care in your life. A lot of people think that means having a pamper session with face masks and sorting your skincare. The reality with self care is doing little things that will make you feel happier and improve your mood. Sometimes it’s good to take time to do things for yourself because we all need to take care of ourselves every now and then.  Here’s a few little things I’ve done to add a little self care in my life. Bubble Bath I do love a bubble bath because sometimes it’s nice to take the time to relax. Add bubbles, put a bath bomb in and watch something in the bath. Especially as the days are getting colder, a nice hot bath does the trick. Putting on comfy clothes I love this time of year because it means I get to make use out of the many jumpers I own. Especially after having a bath, it’s nice to put on a comfy jumper and joggers to make you feel nice and cosy.  Hot beverage Personally, I love drinking coffee. I probably drink way ...

Special Someone

Image
You may have noticed little hints recently in my blog posts and some of you may have figured out something that has happened in my life. Now this is not a tell all, reveal all the juicy details kind of post because honestly I'm not that kind of person. Yet I feel like I need to mention something on my blog as this is a part of my life and I do like to give little updates on my life. Anyway, here goes. Yes, I have a special someone in my life. I've been seeing him since June and he makes me very happy. I haven't really opened up about it to many people as I'm a private person and sometimes the less people know the better. I'm also a private person and I don't really like talking much about my private life because that's just the thing. It's private. All I can say is he's made me very happy, he's pushed me out of my comfort zone and tried new things. Best of all though, he likes me for me and I like him for him. He's someone I can't imagine...

Monday Motivation

Image
It's Monday Morning and I thought I'd give you a little motivation for today so you can use it to get through Monday and also the rest of this week. Let's get started. Find the silver linings Not going to lie, Monday is usually the worst day of the week for most. It's just been the weekend and now we have to get back to reality whether that's work or school. Monday's do suck. Sometimes with Monday if your expectations are already low then anything good that happens that day will not only be a surprise but also make your Monday slightly better. Not every Monday is bad but most Monday's are so sometimes you do have to find the silver linings in the little positive moments you have on a Monday. Why not make an exciting lunch to have that day? I always get excited for lunch time at work if I've made a nice lunch to have that day. Already that boosts my mood. Why not treat yourself even more and go out extra earlier just to get some coffee from your favourite...

Coffee Chat

Image
Today’s post I thought I’d do a little rambly post while I drink coffee. I haven’t done one of these in a while so I thought why not do it for one of the days I’m posting everyday for a month. I got my coffee here so let’s get started. So how’s everyone’s first week of September been? Mine was a little chaotic with work but it was also good because I got to spend time with my favourite person twice which was very nice. Honestly having someone to hang out with and spend time with is so nice. Especially when you’re so used to being independent that you never thought you’d know any different but it’s honestly nice. Knowing I can be independent but also I have a special someone to spend time with. It’s great. Although I spend my time living out of an overnight bag, it’s worth it.  Other than that, nothing else has really been going on in my life as of yet. I do have a concert I’m going to in about two weeks time to see McFly VS Busted which I’m very excited about. I also booked a holid...

Everyday Makeup

Image
I thought I would share my everyday makeup. I was actually wearing this makeup to go on a day date but it's something I also like to wear for everyday use so let's get started. Collection Incredibrow Brow Kit I always like to do my brows first. I switch between the left and middle shades depending on my mood. I find when I perfect my brows, everything else falls into place. Studio London Eyeshadow Base I like to use this as a primer on my eyes. I find it helps to smooth my eyes and makes my eyeshadow last a lot longer.  I Heart Revolution I Heart Chocolate Palette An oldie but a goodie, I love this palette and had it for quite a while now. I'm not sure if they even sell this palette anymore but I love the muted shades and it's something you can use for natural but also a glam look too.  Maybelline New York Great Lash Waterproof Mascara I love this mascara as it's so voluminous and doesn't ever smudge which is what I look for in a mascara. Studio London Flaunt Fl...

How To Prepare For University

Image
September is probably a nervous time for a lot of you as some of you may be going off to university or college for the first time. It’s an eye opening experience because it’s your first real opportunity of being an adult. It can be exciting but also very daunting. As someone who went to university twice to do a bachelors and masters, I learned a few things along the way. Of course this isn’t just a post for the freshers, maybe you’re a returning student that might need a refresher on how to prepare for university. Either way I hope there’s something for everyone. Let’s get started. Make sure your accommodation is sorted This may be an obvious one but hopefully you did it all when you got accepted or applied. I can’t actually remember if it was before or after I got accepted but either way make sure you know where you’re staying. The first time around I stayed in the quiet halls of residence which actually wasn’t very quiet but it was pretty decent. It was more a case of no noise after ...

What's In My Work Bag

Image
I thought I'd do something a little different and instead of sharing what's in my everyday bag, I thought I'd share what's in my bag that I take to work. Now as I went through the items, I realised it's not majorly different to my everyday bag but it does have a few extra bits. I love nosing at what people have in their bags so I thought I'd share what's in my work bag. Let's get started. This is my work bag. I got it from Amazon over a year ago. It's a Miss Lulu bag and I love it because it's the perfect size for everything I need for work. It's also nice as it has short handles that make it easy to carry but also has a long shoulder strap. This bag is just perfect for work in my opinion. Now let's look inside. Here is my lanyard with my work keys on. I'm not going to show you my work keys for obvious reasons but this is my lanyard I wear them on. I believe the dolphin lanyard actually came from one of those rock dummies that you can...

Autumn Bucket List

Image
I love this time of year during Autumn and for those of you who want to say, it's not Autumn yet. To me it is. I always feel like September, October and November are the Autumn months and it definitely feels like it. I thought I'd share all the things I want to do in the next three months in a bucket list and hopefully be able to cross them off as the months go.  Let's get started. Go for an Autumn walk I want to go for a walk where the leaves have fallen and crunch under my shoes. I want to be able to pick up some conkers and just enjoy the Autumn weather. Bundle up in a jumper and a coat. Just enjoy seeing the colour changing leaves on the trees and just enjoy nature. Maybe even take a hot flask with me and enjoy some hot chocolate while I walk. I'd love to do that a lot this month to go for an Autumn walk.  Go to a concert I mean technically I'm already doing this as I'm going to see McFly VS Busted this month but I thought I may as well add it onto my bucket...

September

Image
I can't quite believe we're in the ninth month of the year. I feel like this year has flown by. I've had such a good year so far by visiting different places and spending time with some great people. This month also means it's the start of my favourite season which is Autumn. I honestly love this time of year with the weather cooling down, I get to wear jumpers and go for walks where the leaves are falling. September also feels like a new beginning because it is that time of year where people are going back to school or going off to university. It feels like a fresh new beginning.  This month I'm also excited because I'm seeing McFly vs Busted in Birmingham this month which I'm so excited for. I honestly can't wait for that. Other than that I don't have much else planned other than hanging out with my favourite person and working. I think some family are also coming to visit which will be nice. Yeah this month is going to be a pretty chill but nice m...

August Favourites

Image
We've come to the end of another month, I can't quite believe it's the end of August and the end of Summer. You know what that means, it's time for a list of everything I've been loving this month. This month has a particular theme but it's what I've been loving. Let's get started Hell's Kitchen I decided to watch Hell's Kitchen this month. I was watching series 21 as it was on ITVX and I know the next two seasons were also on there. I forgot I'd watched series 21 as it had been a while but watching it I remembered I had seen it. Even though I've watched it before I still enjoyed watching it and it's just a comfort show, it's an easy watch and who doesn't love hearing Gordon Ramsay swearing left, right and centre. It's therapeutic in a weird way. Definitely something I enjoyed watching this month. Tenable This is a surprising one for me as I don't always watch quiz shows but recently I've been watching this as it...

August Reads

Image
In August, I did quite a bit of reading. I've been slacking with my reading and fallen behind on my Goodreads reading challenge which is twenty five books. This month I decided to read again as the first book I read made me realise how much I love reading and got me back in the reading game. I just love how a book can transport you to a different world and let you escape real life. I'm not going to lie, I read a lot of good books this month and I thought I'd share them with you now. With Love From The Morisaki Bookshop by Satoshi Yagisawa This book is a duology which is at Days At The Morisaki Bookshop and More Days At The Morisaki Bookshop. I picked this book up a while ago when I was browsing Waterstones for a new book and this one caught my eye. It’s such a pretty cover that I had to get it. I’d also heard of this book from somewhere and I thought why not. It follows the life of Takako who finds herself moving into her Uncle Satoru’s bookshop after a heartbreak. It sees ...
