January Favourites

Image
Finally, we reach the end of January which means it's time for monthly favourites. I feel like January has gone on forever that I haven't had many favourites for this month but I wanted to share the few favourites I did have this month. Let's get started.  Better Man I saw this movie last Friday and I didn't realise how emotional it would make me. It's a biographical film of Robbie Williams. Except it has a difference. He is portrayed in a monkey form which is definitely a unique way of telling a biographical story. Yet it made a lot of sense because as Robbie Williams said himself, he doesn't feel fully evolved. This story was definitely an emotional one because it shows the rawness of his mental health and issues he's had over the years with substances. It's heartbreaking at times and I found myself crying a lot because there was a lot I could relate to in this story. It's little details because I have gone through a lot of fights with myself menta...

Catch Up

Image
I thought I'd make this post as a little catch up post about how my January has gone so far. I don't know about you but January feels like it's going on forever but luckily we're on the last few days now before we head into the shortest month of the year. It started off with celebrating New Year's Day with family down in Somerset and watching the New Year's fireworks. It was a fun evening playing Knowledge Is Power on the Playstation which is a fun family quiz game. It was then time to travel home which I can only describe as the smoothest train journey I've experienced. No delays. Having a seat on every train. No bus replacements. It was the best train journey I've ever had.  Then it was back to reality by going to work. It snowed one day and I decided to go for a walk in the snow on the seafront. Got to take some nice pictures of the seafront covered in snow. I made fajitas which were very tasty before accidentally deciding to cut my own fringe and cut...

Winter Self Care

Image
I don't know about you but for me January is a depressing month. The festive period is over. Everything has somewhat gone back to normal and the weather is cold and miserable. Especially if you live in the UK. Plus January just seems to go on forever and like it will never end. You definitely get the winter blues this month which is why I thought I'd share some things I do to give myself a little self care but also make me feel better when I have those moments of winter blues. Let's get started. Make a playlist of all your favourite songs I don't know about you but to me music really does impact my mood. Sometimes I hear my favourite songs and I can't help but sing along or just have a bop to them. Create a playlist of all your favourite songs so that if you're feeling low, just have a listen and soon you'll make yourself feel better through the power of music. Get up and go somewhere Whether that's down the street, going to get a coffee, meeting up with...

Making Changes In 2025

Image
New Year! New Me! It's that time of year where we sit down and set some goals for ourselves for 2025. Thinking this year will be different. This year we will actually achieve our goals. We spend a week or two doing just that where we work on our goals before giving up by the time February rolls around mainly because we lose the motivation to do what we really want to do or procrastinate it onto next month which is never a good idea because if you procrastinate it then most likely it won't get done.  That's why I thought I'd make this post as I wanted to make some changes to my life and apply them in 2025. I thought these can help me to get more motivated and help me live my best life. Without further ado these are the changes I'm going to make in 2025. Making a list of everything you want to achieve Writing down everything you want to do can be motivational and get you started on the right track. For starters you’ll have ideas on what you plan to do throughout the y...

January

Happy New Year! I can't quite believe it's 2025. It feels like yesterday it was 2024. (Pause for laughter) Apologies had to be done. Hehe. January is here which means it's time to set new goals, plan the year and then give up by the time February comes around. I don't really know if I have any New Year's Resolutions planned as of yet. There's always the usual ones of getting healthy, finding love etc. Yet I think the only thing I really want to do in 2025 is be happy and make lots of memories.  I'm turning twenty nine in October which means in October 2026, I'll be thirty which is quite scary as I feel like my life is all over the place at the moment and I feel like I'm falling behind sometimes. I think this year that I really need to start knuckling down. Start completing the rest of my bucket list before I turn thirty and make some real changes to my life. There are a few things I need to get done this year but I'm not going to reveal all just ...

January Favourites

Image
It's the end of January which means, it's time for a favourite post. I plan on trying to do these favourite posts every month for the year and see how we go on. This one definitely has a theme of true crime in it which I'm sorry about but at the same time, I'm sure many people have similar interests. Anyway, these are all the things I've enjoyed in January. Good Girl, Bad Blood by Holly Jackson This is the second book of the series A Good Girl's Guide To Murder. This one really intrigued me because it was Pip trying to investigate what happened to Jamie Reynolds who is missing. The story was full of lots of twists and turns. I found myself listening to the last twenty chapters on my train home from my Dads on New Year's Day. Twenty chapters does seem like a lot but when you listen to audiobooks on 1.8 speed then it flies through the forty four chapter book and on a four and a half hour train journey, it gives me a lot of time to get through the whole book on...

Motivation

Image
After posting for the entire month of December, it was a wonder I still had motivation but I realised that with a bit of determination you can really put your mind to things if you put in the effort. Honestly, the secret to being motivated is effort. If you really want to do something then you have to put in the effort for it. If you read my previous post, you know that one of my new year resolutions is to publish 150 blog posts in 2024 and in order to know that then I need to put in the work. I don't have an awful lot of legroom to take blogging breaks this year as I did last year and of course that means I have to put in the effort to keep motivated. Now you may be wondering how I do it. Honestly, I use the simple art of self motivation. I tell myself, I need to and when I have a bit of free time in my day. Whether that's in the morning before work or after work, I take some time to write a post. Even if I just spend an hour writing up a couple of posts. It really helps me ou...

Things That Make Me Happy

Image
We all have things that make us happy and it's always important to remind ourselves of those things. Especially if we ever find ourselves having a bad day. It's always good to find something that makes us happy. That's why I thought I'd share a list of all the things that make me happy and maybe it could inspire some of you to do the same. Let's make this year a more positive year and do the things that make us happy.  Let's get started.  1. Reading a good book  Honestly, I absolutely love reading a good book. Just that feeling of getting lost in a story. It's a great feeling especially when it's a good book and you can't put it down. I'm really excited to get back into reading and read as much as I can this month. I'm even considering making a reading journal or even sharing my thoughts on all the books I read this year. Maybe even do a summary of all the books I read in a month. Either way I really enjoy reading and it is one of these thing...

Chapter One

Image
Happy New Year! Hello 2024! We made it through another year! The start of a new chapter of a new year. It's nice because it falls on a bank holiday which means I get a lovely day-off. I'm actually spending the first day of the new year travelling by train home and trying to hope that there's no delays along the way.  It got me thinking about my new year resolutions and I figured that I'll do resolutions that I actually want to achieve this year. I think the more realistic you make your goals the more likely you'll achieve them and also if you have a couple of goals rather than a whole list it will make it so much easier for yourself to achieve.  I thought I'd share my goals of 2024 with you to give you a little inspiration and motivation for this new year.  Get a car One of my biggest goals for this year is to get myself a car so I can finally be able to drive myself around. I've been longing to drive to different places and honestly this has been a long tim...

Tidy Home Tidy Mind

Image
One thing I've been meaning to do this month is tidy my bedroom. During the winter my room has been a little mouldy and also felt a little cluttered to me. As much as I love my cute décor in my bedroom, the amount of dust it picks up is ridiculous so I thought I may as well have a sort out of my room.  It's always a struggle when you decide to have a tidy up because when you start pulling things off your surfaces to wipe and everything just ends up cluttering on your bed, you start to regret it. With a little burst of motivation though I managed to tidy up my room and it's just a satisfying feeling afterwards when you've finished. Everything looks so much neater and less cluttered. I've managed to get rid of the mould on the ceiling and it feels very refreshing. I've even changed my bedsheets too. To end this tidy up, I had a nice bath and put on fresh pyjamas this evening which feels lovely in my tidy bedroom.  All worth it in the end.  Anyway, I hope this post...

Finding Motivation In January

Image
January is a weird month because it's the first month of the year but it's the only month that seems to last forever. One minute it's January next minute it's August and you wonder where the time goes. It's also confusing because you're expecting every year to come up with goals and resolutions for the years that you stick to them for a week before forgetting all about them for the rest of the year. Unless you have a birthday in January there's nothing much exciting happening in January. Even the new year just comes and goes then everything is back to normal. Xmas decorations come down. The weather is rubbish because it's too cold or too wet to do anything exciting. It's a struggle to find the motivation to be either productive or keep fit. It's a struggle so I thought I'd make a list of how to find motivation in January.  1. Go Outside This may be a struggle. Especially if it's cold or wet but all you need is your coat, hat, scarf, glove...

Motivation For 2021

Image
Now that the holidays are over and we're four days into 2021, motivation may be a little down at the moment so I thought I'd share with you five tips to get you motivated for 2021. Of course you can use this motivation all year round but it's good to get motivated at the start of the year.  1. Tidy Up As it's the beginning of the year it's the perfect time to give your home a little tidy up. Especially with putting away the Christmas decorations, you may as well have a whole day of just tidying. Maybe do a bit of decluttering. See if there's anything that you didn't use in 2020 that you may not need anymore. Sometimes it's good to start fresh and honestly it feels great when you've finished tidying up. It's almost like your cleaning up everything from 2020 which honestly is a relief in itself.  2. Wake Up Early I feel like I always say this in terms of being productive and feeling motivated. It honestly works though. When you wake up early, you h...

500 Blog Posts

Image
It's crazy to think I'm writing my 500th blog post. I've been blogging now for over six years and have reached 500 posts. I know it might not seem like a lot to many but it is a lot to me. I don't usually take much notice of how many blog posts but I noticed I was coming up to 500 published posts, I thought I may as well make it a good post. I absolutely love blogging and I'm so proud of my little place on the internet. I love being able to write and share my thoughts. The beauty of it is that I have no idea if anyone is listening to me or following every post I make. Although I know a lot of you reading this have viewed my blog considering I have over 36,000 pages views. This is crazy to me as that's a lot of people who have taken the time out of their day to view my blog whether they read one of my posts or just browsed my blog. It really does mean a lot to me. I don't mind that I'm not a popular blogger, I'm just doing this for fun and I'm n...

Happy New Year

Image
Happy New Everyone!  Can you believe 2020 is over finally? I can't.  Obviously 2020 was probably not the way everyone planned it to be and while the troubles of 2020 are not over, we can always look on the bright side.  We all have a new normal of face masks, hand sanitiser and spending most of the time inside. We've had nearly a whole year to get used to it so I'm sure we're all prepared. 2021 may still be just like 2020 with talks of lockdowns and tiers, it's all going to be okay.  My resolution for this year is to be happy.  That's all I really want is a bit of happiness. Starting with the first day of the new year. It's time to have a shower and wash away last year from your body. Start fresh. Start a new year like no other. Do something you really enjoy. Play a video game. Have a movie marathon or binge watch your favourite series. Have a pamper day. Start on the Spring Cleaning. Last year sucked, let's be honest but 2021 doesn't have to suck.  ...

Getting Into A Routine

Image
As we're now a few days into the new year, we're getting closer to the time where some of us are going back to school, university or work. Our usual routine is shaking up over the holidays and sometimes it can be difficult to get into a routine. I am someone that has always struggled to get into a routine. Most of the time I will go to bed at a ridiculously late time or sometimes I'll get up at a ridiculously early hour. Now I've tried many times to watch morning and evening routines so I kind of got a rough idea on how to get yourself into a healthy, normal routine. Of course everyone is different. Some of us are early birds, some of us are night owls and some of us just are in between. I just thought I'd give you a guys a reasonable routine that you can either follow or change it up a bit to suit your needs. The Morning  1. Set one alarm We've had a moment where we set multiple alarms and learn to either switch them off or hit the snooze button. The ...

Hello 2020

Image
Happy New Year Everyone! Can you believe it's finally 2020. I always get surprised when a new year comes round. Honestly though it does feel like the start of a new story. Page 1 of 366 as this year it is a leap year so we have one extra day of the year. Of course like with every year, it's time to create a list of new years resolutions or I like to see them as my goals for the year. Now I look back at the goals I made last year and I was very ambitious about what I was going to do. Of course I didn't manage to achieve all the goals but that doesn't matter as I still had a great year. This year though I am planning on making some big changes to my life. I'm moving out of my mum's house and moving three hours away. So yeah that is a big change for me and I'm still not sure how I'm going to do it but I am hopeful by February or March I will do it. Fingers crossed. This year my goal is to just be happy and focus on taking care of myself. I'm go...

The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow

Image
Hey all! I just thought I'd make this little post just to check in with you guys. I thought I'd give you guys some positive thoughts for you to reflect on this on Sunday when this post goes up. Whether you're having a bad day or week, tomorrow is a new day. It's Monday. The start of a brand new week. Who knows what this next week will bring. I'm working tomorrow and I'm kind of dreading it because I just had a week off but at the same time it'll be nice to get back into a routine again. It'll also be nice because I have a day off Tuesday and Wednesday so I can just relax again before I'm working for the rest of the week. Whatever your plans are for the week, I hope you make the most of it. Try something new. A new recipe. A new book. A new route to work. Whatever it is, give it a try. What's the worst that can happen? We all get only one life and so let's embrace. I have a post for you guys ready which is tips on how not to be lazy...
