My Happy Place

We all have a happy place.

A place that's brings us joy. It could be anywhere from your home to a city to a place that brings fond memories back. Perhaps it a place you feel relaxed or comforted. A place you go to when you're feeling sad. Your own little sanctuary.

For me, my happy place is my bedroom.

That may seem silly to some, but some others may be able to relate.

In my lifetime, I've lived at eight addresses which in total means eight bedrooms. Although technically it could be nine bedrooms because I moved into my older brother's bigger room when he moved out. Either way a bedroom is a bedroom. It's just my own little sanctuary. Making your bedroom your own is very important. For me I can't stand bare walls in my bedroom. I don't know why but it just makes me feel weird. That's why I have posters in my bedroom. Now this may seem like a teenager thing but really posters have no age limit and to be honest when you live in rented accommodation and can't exactly paint the walls any colour you like then posters make the room colourful and less boring. Plus they make it my own. I have a few posters where some have quotes on while others make me smile. To be honest, I don't care what anyone says about the posters in my room because at the end of the day, it's my bedroom. I can decorate it how I see fit.

I feel like I spend the most time in my bedroom, particularly while I was at university and even now when I'm living with my mum. That doesn't mean to say I don't go around my mum's house because obviously I do but it is still my mum's house, it's technically not mine although I do live there. It's decorated with a lot of her things that she's had over the years and I know one day I'll have a place of my own to live in and I'm sure that will be my happy place. That doesn't mean I live in an unhappy home; in fact my home is far from an unhappy home. I love my home and being able to live with my mum. It's definitely less lonely for starters. It's just if I'd had to pick a happy place in my home then it would be my bedroom.

So there you have it. My happy place is my bedroom. I would love to hear your thoughts on where your happy place is, perhaps it's your bedroom too. Let me know in the comments below.

Thank you for reading my blog and I hope you have a lovely day. I'll be back again soon with another post.

See you then.
