University Study Tips!

Image
Hey guys! Long time no post! I feel like I say that a lot on this blog but sometimes it happens. However, I'm still here and I have been busy with just life and uni work as this is my last month of second year and the pressure to get things done is one. As I've been studying and doing assignments that I'd share with you my study tips which I have learnt over this period of time which might be helpful to some of you guys. Treat your uni work as a nine to five job This has probably been one of the best tips I've ever been given by someone. If you spend around six to eight hours a day doing your work then you'll get it done in no time. You can do this five days a week and have weekends off to do whatever you like. Just get yourself in a routine where you wake up early in the morning get ready for the day, eat breakfast then crack on with some work. If you do this everyday you'll feel more productive and your body clock will get used to the idea to wake u...

Library Study Session Essentials

Image
As many of students will tell that you will have a more productive study session in the library rather than in your bedroom (even if you are working on your bedroom desk, you will not be as productive). In my opinion working on assignments or studying for exams is a huge benefit to me and makes me even more productive than if I was in my bedroom. I think it's because I'm surrounded by other people who are working to and in the library (my library does this and I'm sure others do) but there's different floors dedicated to the noise level. There's a floor for group study session which is quite loud, there's a slightly quiet floor and then there's the top floor which is the very quiet floor which is where I go to do my work. I don't like to be distracted when I'm working because I like all my focus to be on the work so for me working in a quiet area where there aren't many people talking is a really help for me. Now I thought I'd share my...

The Outcome Of The Resit

Image
I just thought I'd make a quick update for you as I made a post back in July about having to do a resit as I had failed one of my assignments. Let's just say I got it done within a month of the actual deadline and submitted it. It was a terrifying process of just waiting because I don't know how well I did or if I've even passed it. In university they give you a second and third chance to redo your assignment. I was nervous because I really wanted to go to second year and not feel like a complete failure if I had to redo the first year again. I suppose it happens sometimes and you have to just get through. Anyway, tonight I had my result back for my resit and it turns out I've passed it. Now I can move on to my second year of university. I'm so happy because I've been panicking and telling myself 'What ifs' if it came to the conclusion I failed it. Luckily though I've passed and I'm so happy. Although I am quite nervous about moving on to ...

Resit?

Image
This is the time of year where everyone in university is getting their results and finding out whether they've passed the year. You know they have as they tell the world on Facebook that they have. That's great for them and you're happy for them. However.. You did not pass the year (yet) as you have failed one of your assignments which lead to failing your module. Oh dear. That's not good. All I can say to that is don't panic. It happens. Sometimes we fail assignments. It's perfectly normal. Plus like with all assignments and exams, you are allowed to resit them. Yay! It happens but the main thing is to not panic. Check your university emails. You will likely get one from your lectures saying about a drop in session to discuss what you can do. If I was you I would take the assignment with you on paper. They will look it over and go over things you did wrong. They'll give you advice to improve it. Your lecturers care about you and want you to succee...

Deadlines and exams are here + how to relax and not stress

Image
Okay some genius decided to put all the deadlines and exams on in the same week or very close together. It can be a stressful process and sometimes you can leave stuff to the last minute which is kind of the worse thing to do because this will give you a lot of stress. However, it can be a good thing as the pressure will force you to actually do it. Just stay strong throughout. I thought of a few tips that might help you to relax and be a little bit stress free for when you need to do those last assignments or revision. 1. Find a good place to work I've mentioned this previously but do not work on your bed. Your bed is for sleeping and being lazy. I know it's comfy but you'll feel tired and lazy which means you'll want to stop doing what you're doing quicker. Sit at a desk. If you're in a room add some fairy lights make it a little cosy so you just feel relaxed. Light a few candles if you can and just feel relaxed. 2. Listen to some calm music I don...

Study Tips!

Image
As it is exam time and I do have an exam coming up on Friday, I thought I'd share with you some study tips I have learned and have really helped me with revision. 1. Give yourself enough time to revise Do not leave it to the day before. That won't help. You may think it'll help because you have a really bad memory and revising the day before will help you remember. Just trust me it won't help because you will be stressed out and panicking a lot. Believe I know. I've been there and I've done it. Believe or not though if you revise for a week, come to the exam, I can guarantee something which you went over during your revision time will pop up in your head. Just do a lot of revision and you will pass. I promise you. 2. Find a good working space I've said this in many posts in the past about studying but please do not study on your bed. I know its comfy but you will not be productive and you'll feel tired and lazy. Your body will think you...

How to have a productive day

Image
We all have days where we need to be productive and actually do some work. Whether it's school work, university assignments or revision. Now is mostly the time you need to be productive because it's nearing the end of the academic year where there are exams and final assignments to be done. So we all need to be productive. The best time to be productive is during the day not late at night. Here's some tips on how you can have a productive day. 1. Wake up early As much as we all love a lie in but this way you can have more time in the day to do your work. It doesn't have to be like 6am. 9am is fine as well. 2. Eat breakfast and check social media once, respond to emails. Do eat breakfast because it really does give you energy for the whole day. Do check social media to see if anything has happened and respond to emails if you have any. Then turn your phone off and put it on the other side of the room. Social media is the biggest reason people procrastinate. You ...

Results day yesterday... What am I going to do now?

Image
Hey guys! So yesterday morning was stressful and nerve-racking. I was getting my A Level results and UCAS was telling me whether or not I got accepted into my first choice uni. I was sweating and shaking all morning until I went downstairs and sat with my mum at 8. I logged into UCAS track and freaked out a little when I saw what I saw. - - - - - - I got accepted into my firm choice! I was so happy and it didn't seem real. So I'll be going to the University Of Chester in the Warrington Campus to study  Advertising and Media Studies. Congratulations to anyone who got into Uni or who have figured out what they're doing with their life. Remember a piece of paper does not define you and you can do whatever you want. Anyway, after I found out I was in my firm choice Uni. Collecting my results didn't seem so bad. I knew I had met the conditions and did something right.  However, when I went to collect my results. I was a little surpr...

A Level results day this week

Hey guys! As some of you know this year I was doing my A Levels and I finished them in June. I've had a month and a half not to worry about results, but now the time has come. Results day for me is this Thursday. (August 13) and I'm getting scared. This day literally decides my future and whether or not I go to uni. They say have a back up plan if things don't go well but honestly I don't have a back up. I know there's a thing called clearing for if you don't achieve the grades that were asked for. That basically gives you courses that are accepting anyone either from the uni you chose or similar courses you wanted to do. I think they may even give you options you never even thought of doing. Anyway, there's no point in worrying or panicking just yet as results day hasn't yet. Anything could happen. I might not get the grades but the uni may still want me. You just don't know. Don't worry about letting your family down either because it's...

Where the heck have I been + Life Update

Hey guys! Long time no post. It has been a while since I wrote something on this blog. The last post I made was in May and now it is the 8th June. I'm gonna be honest with you guys. I have had no motivation for writing a post. I literally couldn't think of anything to write but I promise you that after my last exam my blog will updated at least once a week if not more than that per week. As you may of guessed exams are also the reason why I haven't written a post. I have been revising and stressing over these exams. I only have three exams and I know it isn't a lot but they're still important. I had two of my exams last week on the Monday and Friday. My next exam is in two weeks bright now I decided to take a break from revision, procrastination, relaxing and trying to keep fit and write a blog post to explain my absence. I've written a few blog post ideas so after my exams I can focus on writing and posting. I know this is just a blog focusing on lifestyle ...

Facing a fear

Hey guys! So the other day, I faced a fear. Most people won't consider this a fear or they think it's stupid but I do consider this a fear. I'm scared to talk to strangers on the phone. I don't know why though. I'm just scared that I'll dial the wrong number or I can't hear what they say or I'll say something wrong. It's not so bad if I have to phone someone I know like a family or a friend but it's just something about talking to a stranger that makes me nervous. Although, it may be the fact that I'm shy and I'm terrified to talk to someone I don't even though. I can't even raise my hand in class because I'm scared I'll have the wrong answer and everyone will just laugh. It's the same with talking in front of a group or a class. I'm scared that everyone's judging me or I'll make a fool out of myself. I know I'm just being paranoid and over thinking the situations. But after you've fac...

Finished AS Exams! Woo!

Hey guys! So, I've finished doing my AS exams today. I had ICT this morning which was my last exam and now I'm off school until next Monday. This is the best feeling in the world because it means I have no more revision to do until next year and I have no homework or school for a week. I've been off school for a month for study leave but during that time I've been revising. (That's the main reason why haven't been updating on my blog recently.) However, now I'm free for a week so yeah. Now I know this post was short but I just had to let you all know this. Anyway, that's it from me. Bye!

My first post and 25 questions

Hi, my name is Megan Taylor. I'm seventeen years old and I live in the UK. I love musicals, films, tv shows, food, Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. I'm a fangirl and proud. My favourite musical is Cats and I'm a big fan of Cats the musical,  StarKid, Harry Potter, Friends, Glee, Musicals, Disney, Pixar and many more. Now I'm going to do 25 questions so that you can get to know me more. 1. Do you have any pets? Well sort of. I have a dog at my dads house called Rocky and he is a Jack Russell. 2. Name three things that are physically close to you. My Samsung Galaxy Tablet (which is what I'm writing this on), my iPod touch and a pillow. 3. What's the weather like right now? It's very hot for me right now and it's sunny with a few clouds in the sky. 4. Do you drive and if so have you crashed? No I don't drive sadly, but I hope to soon. 5. What time did you wake up this morning? 7am because I had to go to sixth form and do some last minute rev...
