It’s important to have a little self care in your life. A lot of people think that means having a pamper session with face masks and sorting your skincare. The reality with self care is doing little things that will make you feel happier and improve your mood. Sometimes it’s good to take time to do things for yourself because we all need to take care of ourselves every now and then.
Here’s a few little things I’ve done to add a little self care in my life.
Bubble Bath
I do love a bubble bath because sometimes it’s nice to take the time to relax. Add bubbles, put a bath bomb in and watch something in the bath. Especially as the days are getting colder, a nice hot bath does the trick.
Putting on comfy clothes
I love this time of year because it means I get to make use out of the many jumpers I own. Especially after having a bath, it’s nice to put on a comfy jumper and joggers to make you feel nice and cosy.
Hot beverage
Personally, I love drinking coffee. I probably drink way too much coffee than is normal but I just love it. Of course you don’t have to drink coffee, there are a number of hot beverages like tea or hot chocolate you can choose. It’s just nice to make a hot beverage to make you feel warm inside and even more so if it just happens to be your favourite one too.
Painting my nails
I don’t always paint my nails but sometimes it’s nice to take the moment to do so. I love making the effort to do it. I’m not one of those people who gets their nails done every month because I like doing it myself. I even got myself a UV light which makes it easier. It’s just nice to have a little change every now and then by painting my nails.
Reading
There’s nothing like curling up on your sofa or bed and reading a good book. This book definitely is giving me major autumn vibes. I’ve only started reading it and I’m already loving it. Autumn is the perfect time to read because it’s raining a lot more outside which gives you the perfect excuse to stay inside and read. Also reading while hearing the rain against the window is honestly the best feeling.
Play video games
Honestly, I love having the chance to sit and play on my PlayStation. I just love getting lost in the game and I have a habit of collecting all the trophies for the game. It just gives me this satisfying feeling whenever I achieve a trophy but even more so if I get the platinum trophy. It just gives me something to focus on and honestly, I do really enjoy it. Playing video games is therapeutic and allows you to escape the world for a bit.
Anyway, those are all the little things I like to do to add a little self care in my life for Autumn. Although these don’t necessarily apply just to Autumn, it can also be applied to any time of year. Let me know what you like to do to add a bit of self care into your life.
