Autumn Self Care

Image
It’s important to have a little self care in your life. A lot of people think that means having a pamper session with face masks and sorting your skincare. The reality with self care is doing little things that will make you feel happier and improve your mood. Sometimes it’s good to take time to do things for yourself because we all need to take care of ourselves every now and then.  Here’s a few little things I’ve done to add a little self care in my life. Bubble Bath I do love a bubble bath because sometimes it’s nice to take the time to relax. Add bubbles, put a bath bomb in and watch something in the bath. Especially as the days are getting colder, a nice hot bath does the trick. Putting on comfy clothes I love this time of year because it means I get to make use out of the many jumpers I own. Especially after having a bath, it’s nice to put on a comfy jumper and joggers to make you feel nice and cosy.  Hot beverage Personally, I love drinking coffee. I probably drink way ...

Pampering

Image
Sometimes you need a pamper session to really refresh your mindset and make you feel relaxed. I thought I’d share what I do during my pamper session so you can either follow along or inspire you to have your own pampering. Let’s get started. For me, having a bath is something that always gets me in the relaxing mood. I got to have a bath bomb so I got this one from Primark. I have quite a collection of bath bombs from Primark. I just think they’re reasonably priced and make a bath more complete. Of course I have bubbles and don’t ask why I have this Matey bubble bath but it makes really good bubbles and it smells of apples.  I also have to watch something while I’m in the bath and decided to watch Mamma Mia Here We Go. I haven’t seen it in a while and bought it on Amazon when it first came out so I decided to give it a watch again. It’s definitely a comfort movie. Not as good as the first one but not a bad sequel either. Plus who doesn’t love listening to ABBA. I washed my hair usi...

Primark Haul

Image
As I mentioned in my previous post, I went to Primark while I was in Telford and thought I'd share what I got while I was there.  Let's get started. The first thing I got was a new makeup/toiletries bag because I'm obsessed and I actually got a similar style to this one before except in cream. I've been watching a lot of those YouTube shorts and reels of people packing their luggage. I just think this style looks so classy. Yes it looks a little corny with the M but you know what that's my letter and I love it. I then got a Hyaluronic sheet mask as I was going to have a pamper session in my hotel room but decided not to, but I'm gonna keep this mask for a pamper session at home. I also went with a little Beetlejuice theme and got an M keyring and a sandworm compact mirror as I needed a new one plus this looks pretty cool. I also got some new rings because my rings keep disappearing or the gems keep falling off so I decided to get some new ones.  I got these crew...

How Do I Show Myself Love?

Image
Being single for so long, you don't get exposed to much love. Obviously you experience love from family and friends but it's not the same as a love of a partner, a boyfriend or a girlfriend. I've only ever experienced it once and even then I don't know if it was the real thing or not. It felt like it at the time but looking back I'm not so sure. Especially with how it ended. I do feel left behind sometimes because every now and then I'll see someone on Facebook with a new relationship update or they just got engaged or married or having a baby. Yet I'm nowhere near any of those things. Growing up it feels like the life goal was eventually to get nowhere near any of those things. Growing up it feels like the life goal was eventually to get married and have kids but if you failed at doing that then something was wrong with you. I know everything has changed since then and it's more acceptable to be single as we've learned relationships and marriages ca...

Valentine's Day As A Singleton Plans

Image
As someone who has spent the majority of my Valentine's Day as a single person. This day can be a cruel reminder of how single you are. That's why the best way to deal with this day is through a distraction. Now if you are like me and work on weekdays then you'll most likely be working on this day. While work is a good distraction, it's a bit depressing. That's why I thought I'd share some ideas on what you can do on Valentine's Day either after work or before work and if you're lucky enough to have a day off on this day then here are a few things that you can do on Valentine's Day as a single person.  Plan a solo day trip Honestly something I love to do is go on solo day trips whether it's to a town or city or even just to a shopping centre. I love it especially if I have to travel to get there whether it's taking the train or a bus there. One of my fondest memories was when I was in university and I felt a bit down so I decided to go on a d...

How To Spend Your Birthday Alone

Image
As you get older, birthdays are not the same as they were when you're a child or teenager. Sometimes you'd be lucky to actually have anyone to spend your birthday with and even luckier is whether you actually have a day off from work on your birthday. However, if you're lucky enough to have a day off work on your birthday and you realise you're going to be spending it alone then I have some ideas you can do to make your birthday more special even though you're on your own. 1. Plan a day trip somewhere My best tip is to get out of the house because sometimes spending your birthday in your own home can make you feel like it's not really your birthday. Plan a trip to somewhere you'd like to visit or somewhere you've been to before. Whether it's somewhere with lots more shops than what your little town has or has lots of beautiful sights to see. Wherever you plan on going, make sure it's somewhere you'd enjoy. It doesn't have to be far away w...

Rainy Days

Image
Most people don't like rainy days but for me, I love them. Especially on a day off as it gives you the perfect excuse not to go outside. You may as well make the most of the rainy day. Here are a few things I like to do on a rainy day.  1. Make it cosy I like to go all out when it comes to a rainy day. Switch on the fairy lights. Light a candle in my bedroom and just make the room nice and cosy. Even if it means doing a little tidy up to get rid of any clutter laying about, it's worth it in the end. Especially as the inside gets dark and dull when it's rainy plus your main light may be too bright. The perfect balance is the warm glow of some fairy lights and a few candles. Plus if there is a power cut then you won't be affected as you already have candles lit and battery-powered fairy lights. 2. Read a book Honestly, being snuggled up when it's raining outside and having a good book to read is just the perfect feeling. Having the sound of the rain against the window...

My Bucket List - The Update

Image
Back in 2017 I created a list of 30 things to do before I'm 30. I thought five years later I've completed some of the things on the list and thought why not give you an update on everything I've done. I'm writing this now as a 25 year old so I still have another five years to complete all these things. I know the bucket list is one of my popular posts, so I thought why not give you an update.  So let's get started: 1. Get My Degree Now this was one I knew I'd complete because when I wrote this list, I was in my third year, but I not only got one degree, I got a master's degree on top of that which when I wrote this first list, I did not ever think I'd do a master's degree but here we are. Getting two degrees is my highest achievement in my life so I'm pretty proud to have them and just really shows you can put your mind to anything if you really try.  2. Face a Fear When I wrote this the first time, I went on about being scared of heights but thi...

Pamper Party

Image
I was having a bit of a down day at home because when I was writing this, I recently just got dumped. Sad times but we move on. Coincidently one thing I randomly did was look at my 30 Things To Do Before I'm 30 and one of those things that I hadn't done on that list have a full on pamper party with the works. That is why I thought I'm not going to have a lazy day at home feeling down about how single I am and instead indulge in a bit of self-care. I also thought why not share my little pamper party as inspiration to any of you who need a bit of self-care in your life. This is something you can do on your own (like I did) or even with your close friends.  Here are all the things to do in order to have a relaxing pamper party at home. 1. Set the mood It's no good having a relaxing day if all around you is a cluttered mess. Have a quick tidy up of your bedroom and the bathroom before starting your pamper party then start setting the mood. Put on some fairy lights, light a ...
