4 Things Every Adult Should Know

Considering I am twenty three years old, I consider myself an adult and I've had a few experiences in my life and learned a few things. Now every adult is different. We all have different backgrounds, lifestyles, careers and a whole load of things. However, there are a few things that I think every adult should know.

Whether you've just turned eighteen and entered the world of adulthood or just reading this in the hopes of learning something new then this is the post for you. Whether you take on my tips or not is entirely up to you. This is just a fun little post about things every adult should know.

1. Washing up is not optional
Whether you love it or hate it. Washing up is just a part of life. Now I've never been blessed with owning a dishwasher so I have no idea how beneficial they are. Although the point still stands. Washing up is not optional. It's a pretty obvious tip but after being in university, I have discovered that many do not see it that way. I know it's a chore but you may just do it as soon as. It's easier to do it after every meal than leave it for the end of the day. The less washing up you have to do, the better. Also you know you have become an adult when a dish rack is attractive to you.

2. You need to know how to cook and possibly bake
As much as ready meals and fast food is just so easy to eat. They're not the healthiest. No matter how hard you try to get the healthiest ones. Knowing how to cook a few meals can help you out. Spaghetti bolognese for instance is a British classic and one I think every British person needs to master. Even a stir fry is a good option because you can make it your own. Meal kits are also a great alternative to getting started in the world of cooking because it gives you instructions on the boxes. Just knowing how to cook is a stepping stone into adulthood. Even learning to bake things can be a really useful skill too.

3. Knowing how to use a washing machine
When you're younger, washing machines may seem so confusing and you wonder how your mum does it. I never knew how to use a washing machine until I went to university when it came time I had to wash my clothes. Luckily I did it with a group of people who basically showed me how to do it and it actually was a lot simpler than I realised. Just being able to use a washing machine will get you far because clothes get dirty sometimes and they need a wash. It's better to have nice clean clothes than dirty ones. So if you don't know how to use a washing machine, it's time to start learning.

4. There is no right or wrong way to adult
Like I said before, everyone is different. There is no right or wrong way to be an adult. Some people start families early on and some start later. Some focus on their careers. Some focus on education. You can never be too early or too late at doing things when you're an adult because there's no set rules on how to be an adult. The only rules we have to follow are the laws but they're pretty easy to follow. As long as you know the basic life skills then you can literally be whoever you want to be. Nothing is really stopping you from achieving your goals. As long as you work hard and you're happy then you're doing it right. Everyone is different and the world would be a pretty boring place if we were all the same. So be the best adult you can be because you are one of a kind and you can do it your way.

So those are four things every adult should know. Whether you take on board what I say or not then that's okay. This was just a bit of fun and some of these things are pretty obvious, I hope you had fun reading this post.

That's all I have to say. Thank you for reading my blog and I'll be back tomorrow with another post for you.

See you then.
