How To Keep Motivated In August

Image
Summer is a time where the weather's warming and it can be a struggle to keep motivated to be productive, especially when the sun's out and all you want to do is be outside. I've been struggling with motivation as I'm trying to keep posting when I can and next month I'm planning on posting everyday for you all. It's a struggle to find motivation but I thought I'd help by sharing some of my tips to help you keep motivated in August.  Let's get started. 1. Keeping your space tidy I don't know about you but I cannot stand it when I'm trying to be productive and my surroundings are cluttered or messy. Before I do any kind of work or writing, I need to clear my space so I will have a quick tidy up, put clutter away and just make sure my working space is clear. Tidying is also doing something productive so technically you're being extra productive by tidying. I also find after tidying up that I always want to do something productive. For example, I...

How To Beat Creative Block

Image
Sometimes we have days where we're not inspired to do anything or motivated. It can be harder when you're trying to be creative and no ideas are coming to mind. I've struggled with a creative block in the past especially when it comes to blogging because you do have days where you have no idea what to post. I thought I'd share some tips on how to get out of the creative block and hopefully this will help you to get creative ideas on days when you're feeling uninspired. Let's get started. 1. Go Outside This one is pretty straightforward but sometimes inspiration can come from actually living. Getting out of the house can cause you to be inspired by anything and everything. Did you visit a nice cafe today? Why not leave a review? Eavesdropped on a conversation? Make a story out of it.Pretend like you're going on a retreat and your main goal is to get a list of ideas. Sometimes ideas can come from the most unlikely of places so sometimes getting out of the hous...

How I Deal With Distractions

Image
I know some of you are currently going through exams or assignments or you just have a lot to do but find yourself easily distracted. Even now, you could be reading this post as a distraction. Hopefully once you've finished reading this post you'll be a master at dealing with distractions and actually get back to what you're meant to be doing. Let's get started. 1. Plan your time wisely It's really important to plan out your time wisely on everything you need to do. Make a to-do list of what you need to do and try to schedule out time frames for how long you want to do each thing. Of course be realistic with your timings, don't assume it will take longer. Try to plan it as if you're in school. Spend two hours working, take a break then do another two hours then have an hour lunch then continue to work another hour. When I was in university, one of my lecturers gave me a tip to treat your uni work like a nine to five job. Even if you don't have lectures t...

Dealing With Stress

Image
Sometimes life can be very stressful. Things don't always go to plan or unexpected things happen that can be very stressful to deal with. There are so many different causes of stress and I thought I'd share some tips on how to deal with stress so let's get started.  1. Take Regular Breaks This one is a really important one as it's very easy to overdo and just keep going. You may think it's the right thing to do but actually it can cause you to burn out to the point you no longer have the energy anymore. Taking regular breaks can really benefit you as it gives you a chance to walk away from your work and recover a bit so that when you do get back to work you almost go back with a fresh set of eyes now that you've had a moment to take a breather for yourself. Everyone needs a break so be sure to take regular breaks and this may help to make you feel less stressed and give you a moment to just recover. 2. Indulge in some me time  This is another crucial element whe...

How To Be Productive

Image
In times like this, it can be hard to be productive. Especially if many of us are out of work or working from home or just want to be more productive in our daily lives. I thought I'd give you guys a productive structure which works for me and you can edit to make your own. So without further ado, this is how I am productive. 1. Wake up early I think the key to being productive is waking up early and having more time in the day so you can get more done. It may be a struggle in the beginning if you're not used to waking up early but the more you do it then your body will naturally just wake up early. 2. Get ready as soon as you get up The best way to be productive is to do something productive as soon as you get up from bed. Something simple as getting dressed is one step to being productive. I never feel motivated to do anything in my pyjamas so just getting ready for the day gets me in the mood to get some work done. 3. Tidy up I cannot work if my surroundings are mes...

Tips on how to be productive and do assignments

Today was probably a very productive day. I have been procrastinating doing assignments until the week before they're due in. Yesterday I kind of realised this and thought I better get myself into gear and actually do them. Anyway, I kind of did a little bit of research on how to be productive yesterday and because of all the tips and tricks I found it made me more productive today. Now, I'm going to share with you all the tips I found that were very helpful and also tips I discovered myself while doing an essay for 6 hours straight. 1. Go to bed early and wake up early I know it's the weekend but this really does help. If you go to bed early, you'll have more sleep and this actually helps because you'll be less tired when you wake up in the morning. Also waking up early means you have more time in the day. Seriously, wake up at 8am. Have a few moments to yourself before you get out of bed to think of all the things you need to get done. After that get up and...

Hiding From Assignments

Hey guys! So, I just wanted to talk about hiding from life. What I mean by this is basically getting away from things that stress you out like due dates for assignments, over thinking stuff that's going on. I know some things are important like assignments but it's not good to be stressed over them. Just give yourself little breaks and get away from it.  Don't hide in your bedroom or in your bed.  Go outside and go for a walk.  Do some laundry.  Put something else on your mind for a little bit to escape reality. And just take little steps to get it done. Just do a page of an essay a day. You'll get it done eventually. Just don't leave it until last minute. The biggest tip which I discovered only recently is talk to your lecturer. That is something I did not do for a while and I basically just kept over-thinking that I was going to fail one particular assignment. I wanted to drop out and I didn't want to become...
