February Favourites

Image
The end of the shortest month of the year which means it's time for a favourite post. Here is everything I've been loving in the month of February. Cheaters This is a BBC comedy that tells the story of two people that end up sleeping with each other while in Finland only when they get home realise they are neighbours. Even more shocking, one is married and one is in an eleven year relationship. The episodes are around ten minutes long and series two came out last year. This is a very raunchy series with scenes of a sexual nature so definitely not for adult viewing. It's a fun series that deals with the morality of cheating and why people end up cheating. Obviously cheating is not an answer for any relationship complications but this series definitely makes you understand why someone may cheat on their partner. It's a relatable series and has a nice use of representation in it. Definitely a series you can binge watch as the episodes are quite short which makes it easy to...

January Favourites

Image
Finally, we reach the end of January which means it's time for monthly favourites. I feel like January has gone on forever that I haven't had many favourites for this month but I wanted to share the few favourites I did have this month. Let's get started.  Better Man I saw this movie last Friday and I didn't realise how emotional it would make me. It's a biographical film of Robbie Williams. Except it has a difference. He is portrayed in a monkey form which is definitely a unique way of telling a biographical story. Yet it made a lot of sense because as Robbie Williams said himself, he doesn't feel fully evolved. This story was definitely an emotional one because it shows the rawness of his mental health and issues he's had over the years with substances. It's heartbreaking at times and I found myself crying a lot because there was a lot I could relate to in this story. It's little details because I have gone through a lot of fights with myself menta...

Catch Up

Image
I thought I'd make this post as a little catch up post about how my January has gone so far. I don't know about you but January feels like it's going on forever but luckily we're on the last few days now before we head into the shortest month of the year. It started off with celebrating New Year's Day with family down in Somerset and watching the New Year's fireworks. It was a fun evening playing Knowledge Is Power on the Playstation which is a fun family quiz game. It was then time to travel home which I can only describe as the smoothest train journey I've experienced. No delays. Having a seat on every train. No bus replacements. It was the best train journey I've ever had.  Then it was back to reality by going to work. It snowed one day and I decided to go for a walk in the snow on the seafront. Got to take some nice pictures of the seafront covered in snow. I made fajitas which were very tasty before accidentally deciding to cut my own fringe and cut...

September Favourites

Image
Here we are at the end of another month and so it's time for another monthly favourite. As you're reading this I'm currently on a plane flying back from Las Vegas which I'm going to do a whole post on in October because that was a once in a lifetime trip. It meant that I had to write this post slightly earlier than I normally would so that it goes out on time. Anyway, let's get started with my favourites of the month. McFly This month reminded me of how much I love my favourite band McFly and I also saw them live in Manchester which was honestly incredible. Twenty years I've loved them and I honestly can't believe I saw them live for the first time this month. They are such good performers and honestly, I had the best time even though it poured with rain while I was there. It was so good. I was singing along to all their songs. I even prepared a playlist before I went from a previous set list which really helped and made me discover songs I hadn't heard ...

Favourite Ficitional Characters

Image
Yesterday's post got me thinking about who my favourite fictional characters are. We all have fictional characters that bring us joy or make us even more curious when we read about them or see them in action. In fact it makes us wish there were whole stories about these characters. I thought I'd share five of my favourite fictional characters. I will warn you that three of them come from a particular fandom but I have my reasons. Anyway, let's get started. Hermione Granger The cleverest witch of her age. Honestly, Hermione is the greatest character in the Harry Potter series for many different reasons. One she is muggle born so she learned everything from scratch with no magical history. She's also key to helping the golden trio in every single book. Harry and Ron would be lost without Hermione. Even in the first book and getting past all the Philosopher's Stone protections, particularly the devil snare and the potion riddle. Then of course she helped Harry and Ron ...

The Fake Dinner Party

Image
If you could have a dinner party with any three people (dead/alive, real/fiction), who would they be and why? I thought I'd do a fun post today and I've always wanted to do this as I've thought about many times of if I could have anyone at a dinner party then who would it be. This is just my opinion but I would love to hear who your three people would be if you could invite anyone to a dinner party in the comments below.  Let's get started. 1. Albus Dumbledore Honestly, when I read the Harry Potter series there's always a few characters that I wish I knew a bit more about. One of those characters is Dumbledore. He is a fascinating man and I kind of wish they'd release the fictional autobiography of the Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore because I kind of want to know more about this man. I also watched a theory video of Dumbledore's plan by the Super Carlin Brothers. I'd highly recommend it because they delve into each of the seven books and go into the r...

April Favourites

Image
As it's the end of the month it's time for another monthly favourites post. This month has been quite an interesting month and I've enjoyed a few things this month so let's get started. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone PS1 Game Honestly, this is a classic game that I always enjoy playing. It's a game I don't have to think too much about because I know where every secret, bean and card is in the game. It's a game I always love playing because it takes me no time at all to complete as normally it can take me two and half to three hours to complete. Every time I play this game I set myself a challenge to complete it in the quickest time because the save actually gives you the time you've spent playing the game and I always try to beat it. I love this game and it's always a treat to play it. The graphics are something else but I can't help but love the nostalgia whenever I play this game.  Beauty and the Beast This was a movie I watched o...

December Favourites

Image
As we come to the penultimate post of 2023, it only seemed right to include a December favourite post and share what I've been loving in December.  Let's get started! Wonka This was a surprise because I didn't expect to go to the cinema this month then I realised Wonka was out and as someone who grew up watching Willy Wonka then Charlie and the Chocolate Factory I knew I had to watch this. It was nice to watch it in the cinema because there is something magical watching a film on the big screen. I honestly really enjoyed this movie and it was a feel good movie that filled me with joy, made me laugh and at one point even made me cry. It was a charming film that I didn't know where it would take us and honestly I was pleasantly surprised. Plus it has musical numbers which was a nice touch back to the original and honestly I found myself listening to the album as soon as I got home. Honestly, this is a feel good film and would highly recommend it if you just want to escape...

November Favourites

Image
Welcome to Blogmas! If you didn't see my previous post then here's what to expect. I'm going to be posting every single day in December so get excited because everyday you'll be getting a new post from me so be sure to check back everyday for an exciting post. I'm starting off with an oldie but goodie and sharing my November favourites which was a very exciting month for me so without further ado, let's get started.  1. Back To The Future the musical  Honestly, this was a highlight of November watching Back to the Future the musical in the West End. It's a really great musical that really does the movie justice. It had an amazing cast, great songs and special effects. I mean some of the effects I have no idea how they did it, that's how amazing it was. I started listening to the soundtrack as it's a great soundtrack with original songs. It was just an amazing experience and deserves the amazing reviews it has. I would highly recommend going to see it...

Harry Potter Studio Tour

Image
One thing I knew I wanted to do if I ever went to London was take a trip to the Harry Potter Studio Tour and my wish was granted as my mum gifted me the tickets for my birthday. As a huge Harry Potter fan, this was a once in a lifetime trip for me and I'm so glad I did it.  Honestly, it was an incredible day. We got the train to Watford Junction then got the free shuttle bus to the studio. That was great because it gave you a video from Tom Felton on what you can expect from the day. I was so excited. Even from the moment you step off from the bus and see the building is a real pinch me moment because I couldn't believe I was here. Even seeing the chess pieces outside just adds to the excitement. Then when you enter, all you can hear is the music from the films and that just adds to the feeling. I was definitely immersed in it all. I left my coat at the free cloakroom and picked up the free passport where you can stamp along your journey through the studio tour. Then finally it...

London

Image
A few months ago me and my mum decided to plan a trip to London and before we knew it, November had arrived. I was so excited because I haven't been to London since I was eight years old and even then we were there for one night so it was nice to enjoy two nights away in London. Our plan was pretty much to just be tourists. We did the London Eye when I was eight so we knew we weren't fussed on doing that.  I did have two goals in mind. One was to visit the Harry Potter studio tour and the other was to see a West End Show. I'm happy to say we achieved both of those goals. The studio tour was an incredible experience that I'm going to dedicate a whole post for as it was just amazing. In the West End we watched Back to the Future the Musical and honestly it was an incredible experience. We were in the Dress Circle in row L and it was a great view of the whole stage. It was a fantastic show from the cast to the music to the special effects. It really was amazing and would h...
