Making Changes In 2025

Image
New Year! New Me! It's that time of year where we sit down and set some goals for ourselves for 2025. Thinking this year will be different. This year we will actually achieve our goals. We spend a week or two doing just that where we work on our goals before giving up by the time February rolls around mainly because we lose the motivation to do what we really want to do or procrastinate it onto next month which is never a good idea because if you procrastinate it then most likely it won't get done.  That's why I thought I'd make this post as I wanted to make some changes to my life and apply them in 2025. I thought these can help me to get more motivated and help me live my best life. Without further ado these are the changes I'm going to make in 2025. Making a list of everything you want to achieve Writing down everything you want to do can be motivational and get you started on the right track. For starters you’ll have ideas on what you plan to do throughout the y...

Making Little Changes

Image
Everyone has goals in life whether it's being healthier, being richer, being more sociable or trying something new. Whatever the goals are, make sure that they're for you and nobody else. As long as they'll make you happier and be a more positive version of yourself then that's okay. Sometimes achieving our goals requires us to make a few little changes in life to get us one step closer to our goals. Here are a few little changes I've made recently and I've already started seeing the benefits of doing these little changes.  Let's get started. Journaling I always had an on and off again relationship with journaling. Sometimes I'll really commit to it then other times I'll just completely forget about it. Recently I've started to journal a lot more. Particularly in the mornings when I wake up but sometimes in the evening when I have a lot of feelings that have built up in the day and I just need to let them out. Journaling really helps me with that...

Uncertain

Image
Life is so uncertain sometimes and you never really know what the future holds. I recently received some bad news that has kind of thrown me a little bit because it was news I wasn't expecting to hear. It's made me feel very uncertain about the future but I know eventually I'll process it within time and hopefully things might get a bit better. I wanted to share with you guys that sometimes life is unexpected and also you never really know what people are going through. They might have just received some bad news that has shaken them up and left them feeling uncertain.  My message to you is be kind to everyone because they could be going through something at the moment and they don't need any more negativity in their life so just be kind to everyone. Sometimes giving someone a smile could make someone's day so always smile and be kind. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. I'll be back again tomorrow with another post for you. See you then. Megan x  *Th...

Cancelling The Negative

Image
Have you ever been in a bad mood because of something that has happened? Because I have. Many times. Whether it's something that has happened in my work when I've worked in customer service, you do get people that somehow find ways to get under your skin and you really try not to let it get to you but then it somehow finds a way of getting there and then you can't stop thinking about it. You feel on edge, upset, angry or just frustrated that you let someone get to your feelings like that. Even though all you were trying to do was help them.  I've started learning that life is too short to get upset over negative people and just things that bring me down. Instead I'm just going to cancel it out by turning the negative into a positive. I've come to learn you can't please everybody and you're always going to get negative people but those people don't matter. Focus on positive things where it's an upcoming trip you're excited for or you're ex...

27 and Unsure

Image
Do you ever feel like your thirties are slowly creeping up on you? Because I do. I turned twenty seven this year and it kind of hit me that in three years time I'll be thirty which is something I cannot even get my head around. It also kind of feels like I need to get my life together because your twenties is the time to experiment and try new things but also what the heck am I supposed to be doing with my life?  To be fair, I've been in three jobs in my twenties which is kind of exciting and I'm currently in a job that I'm really enjoying at the moment which I could potentially see myself progressing. However, I'm currently still living at home with my mum which kind of makes me feel like I'm somewhat behind. Especially when you are surrounded by people the same age as you living in their homes, some have mortgages, some are married and some have babies. All of those things I'm literally nowhere near at this point in my life. Yet I feel like I need to do so...

Dealing With Stress

Image
Sometimes life can be very stressful. Things don't always go to plan or unexpected things happen that can be very stressful to deal with. There are so many different causes of stress and I thought I'd share some tips on how to deal with stress so let's get started.  1. Take Regular Breaks This one is a really important one as it's very easy to overdo and just keep going. You may think it's the right thing to do but actually it can cause you to burn out to the point you no longer have the energy anymore. Taking regular breaks can really benefit you as it gives you a chance to walk away from your work and recover a bit so that when you do get back to work you almost go back with a fresh set of eyes now that you've had a moment to take a breather for yourself. Everyone needs a break so be sure to take regular breaks and this may help to make you feel less stressed and give you a moment to just recover. 2. Indulge in some me time  This is another crucial element whe...

The Art Of Self-Love

Image
Yesterday, I talked about if I will ever find love and so I thought it was a good time to make a post about the art of self-love. It's really important to make sure that you are taking good care of yourself and love yourself. We are all beautiful human beings and all unique in so many different ways. Not one of us is the same as the other as we all have different appearances, personalities, interests and history. The best way to find love is to first love yourself and I want to share a few habits you can include in your life in order to learn the art of self-love. 1. Be Yourself Honestly, you are a beautiful person. The easiest thing you can do in your life is be yourself. It's so much harder to be somebody you're not, whether that's trying to copy someone's personality or appearance on a daily basis. That's too much effort to do all the time and it's also not good for you as much as you're losing the person that you are. My biggest tip when it comes to ...

My Feel-Good Songs

Image
Music is such a powerful thing because there is a song for almost every mood. Sometimes the lyrics relate to how you're feeling or the song just puts you in a better mood than you were. I thought I'd share my top five feel-good songs that always put me in a better mood. 1. I'll Be Okay by McFly One of my favourite albums of all time is Wonderland by McFly. I can listen to all their songs on repeat as most of them are my favourite McFly songs. However, I'll Be Okay is one of those songs that really puts me in a better mood because it just shows that even when life gets you down at the end of the day, you're going to be okay. It's just such a good bop and I love it when I hear it. From the guitar intro to the lyrics to the chorus just making you want to dance. It is definitely a song that makes me feel good everytime I hear it.  2. Your Song by Ewan McGregor, Moulin Rouge Now I know this is an Elton John song and he of course sings it very well. However, when I wa...

Toxic Friends

Image
Have you ever experienced a very toxic friendship because I have.  Luckily for me, mine was back in secondary school in Year Ten and I've never let anyone treat me the same way this person treated me because this person really messed me up and honestly, I think this was where I started to choose who I let get close to me. Of course from the many failed dating experiences I've had, this hasn't really worked out well. Honestly though, this person was so toxic that honestly I'm glad they did what they did so I no longer have to even acknowledge in my life. It's also where I realised the signs of a toxic friend and I thought I'd share my wisdom so that you never have to deal with a toxic friend in your life or you may have a current friend that is showing these signs then this is your chance to block that friend from your life because honestly nobody has time for that.  Here are the signs of a toxic friend. 1. They talk down to you If you find yourself being spoken ...

Making A Mistake

Image
Everybody makes mistakes. It's a part of life. We can't always get it right no matter how hard we try. We're all bound to make a mistake every once in a while. It may feel like you're the only one to make a mistake at the time but I'm sure many have made the exact same mistake you have at some point in their lives.  Yet when we make a mistake. No matter how big or small that mistake is. We can't help but dwell on it because at that moment you have a mixture of feelings. Embarrassment. Failure. Upset. Angry. Whatever the emotion, it's usually a negative one. Sometimes laughter is thrown in there because sometimes mistakes can be silly and sometimes you just have to laugh about it. Although, it can be that the laughter is hiding how you really feel which is probably embarrassment that you were silly enough to make a mistake in the first place.  The worst thing you can do is bottle it up inside you and not tell anyone about it because if you keep your mistake a...

Five Lessons I've Learned So Far

Image
As someone who has lived for twenty six years on this earth and had plenty of experiences in life, I think I've learned a few lessons that have really helped me get through it all. I thought I'd share my wisdom with you all and tell you five lessons I've learned so far in my life. 1. It's okay to enjoy your own company In School and University I always thought that you needed a group of friends in order to be happy. Well, I learned from one fateful lonely evening in university that after having a crying fest about how I had no friends, I decided, you know what, I'm going to do something on my own that I'll enjoy. The result was taking a solo trip to the Trafford Centre on my own and I went to the cinema on my own for the first time. From that day onwards, I discovered the beauty of going to the cinema on your own. It's nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed of. After all, you're just going to the cinema to watch a movie. It doesn't make a difference if...

Cardiff and Rugby

Image
Yesterday was an interesting day for me as it was my first time at a Six Nations rugby match and it was definitely a match I've always wanted to watch. It was Wales vs England which is always an interesting day in my family whenever these two teams play against each other. There's this whole rivalry between these two nations that is very interesting. For me I have two sides of the family where one supports Wales and the other supports England. Either way one side is going to be happy with the outcome. For me I'm sort of in two camps as I was born in England and for ten years it was my home. However, Wales is home for me and that's why I support them as I've lived there longer. Of course, I'm proud to have been born in England so I always say my nationality is British because I have both English and Welsh blood inside of me. However, when it comes to who I support whether it's rugby or football then I choose Wales everytime. Needless to say yesterday was hone...

Changes

Image
Long time no see, but recently in my life there has been a lot of changes with a few ups and downs. The first one was I had my driving test booked for January and I thought I was ready but apparently one bad lesson before the test can mean you're unable to take the test. The nerves got to me that I made stupid mistakes that I wasn't allowed to take the test. Kind of sucks because you don't even get any sort of refund or a chance to rebook your test. It's just gone. Not even by my own choice. Either way that sucked and put a big downer on things. We move on though and just keep going. The second surprising thing was that I decided to give online dating a try again. I think after numerous failed disasters, I was a bit nervous. At the moment though it's become the best decision because I've met a guy and been talking to him for a month now. It's going really well so far and honestly made me realise how bad I was treated by my previous dates. So far I'm gett...

26 Things I've Learned In 26 Years

Image
Yesterday was my birthday and now I'm 26 years old. It's crazy to me that I am now closer to 30 years old than to 20 years old. I still feel like I'm still figuring out adulthood. Although in my 26 years in this world, I feel like I've learned a lot and maybe I can pass my wisdom onto you. Here are 26 things I've learned in 26 years. 1. You don't need to rush everything It may feel like you're falling behind in life especially if everyone around you is having babies or getting engaged while you've never had a long term relationship. Honestly, there's no rush at all. Everyone is going at their own place. I didn't even have my first kiss until I was twenty one and as you know if you've read my blog, I've never had a boyfriend. You may think you're falling behind in life but you're really not. There's no set time limits on what you should be doing by certain ages. Just go at your own pace and everything should fall into place at ...
