Will I Ever Find Love?

I mean 2023 was an interesting year for me because in January I decided to start online dating again. Before you know it I had met a guy who I started dating with then suddenly we became official and then by May my heart got broken. This year I got to experience what it's like to have a boyfriend for a short period of time and honestly it was very nice because at the time I loved him and he loved me. We went on dates together and messaged each other everyday as well as meet up once a week. It was a nice period of time but, like most things in my life, all good things must come to an end. Now, I'm a single woman with no interest in online dating for a while as I'm worried the exact same thing will happen. It's why the question that goes through my mind is will I ever find love?

When it comes to dating and relationships, I'm definitely the perfect example of someone who experienced those things later on in life. My first kiss was at the age of 21 as well as my first time. My first date was at the age of 25 and my first boyfriend was at the age of 26. I feel like I've experienced several dating disasters with the main culprit being they ghosted me. It's kind of difficult when you're in your twenties to meet someone because a lot of people use their twenties as like an experiment stage of their lives and tend to not be serious when it comes to online dating and often just want one thing out of it. As someone who dated a guy that wanted something casual, I said the same thing, secretly hoping that I could be the one to change his mind. I'm going to tell you right now to give up on that guy cause you are never going to change his mind. Not even if you are the best sex of their life. You're not going to make them change their mind. They will still want to keep it casual. I've learned that's kind of a defensive thing because I feel like when you add feelings in the mix, it just makes everything complicated and ends up getting over emotional with somebody that doesn't really care.

Now you can see my problem here and that I'm an emotional person who lets her feelings get the better of her so online dating can be hard and very time consuming because of the amount of same questions you have to ask and answer like what are you looking for here and what's your favourite food? It's very time consuming. It's why I like to take breaks from online dating because sometimes it gets a bit much and I can very easily lose myself as well as let my emotions get the better of me.

That's not to say that I'm giving up on online dating but I've learned I need to focus on myself and the art of self-love before I get involved in any online dating. Maybe one day, I'm hopeful that I will find love and be in a happy, stable relationship.

Anyway, that's all I have to say about my current love life and whether I'll end up finding love. It's a rollercoaster of emotion at times but as long as you don't lose yourself and remember to love yourself then you should be okay.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and I'll be back tomorrow with another post.

See you then.
