Not Perfect

Image
I’m not perfect and one of the reasons why is I missed a day or two of posting. Not going to lie, I was slightly busy with work that I completely forgot to check everything was on track and I forgot to schedule one or two posts. It will happen where I may miss a day or two but I will make it up to you with even more posts as my goal is 30 posts this month at least so maybe when I miss a day, you may get double posts on some days.  Either way, I hope you can forgive me if you were checking back on my blog for a new post these past couple of days and nothing was there. Life got so busy that I forgot to update my blog. Luckily I have posted all the posts now so that we’re back on track for 30 posts this month and yes I’m including this post as it is still a blog post. It’s not a perfect blog post but as I mentioned before I’m not perfect. It still counts as I’m giving you an update on the lack of posts but I’m also letting you know that everything will soon be back on track again from...

Blogging Routine

Image
As these last few posts on my blog have all come under the theme of Blogging. It only seemed right to share my blogging routine with you. This is to help any of you budding bloggers get inspired to create a routine with yourself. Now this isn't a set routine that I stick to on a weekly basis but a lot of the steps I do everytime I work on my blog. Maybe not in the same order but they are there.  Anyway, let's get started with my blogging routine. I have no set schedule or days where I work on my blog but the routine often starts with me going through my Blogging notebook. Some days I will do an idea dump where I list ideas of different posts even if they're a little out there or may take time to do, it gives me some ideas to work with on the days I do work on my blog.  The place I go to for ideas is often Pinterest. For the last week of March, I've made the theme travel related so I've searched travel just to see what posts are out there and sometimes I will take in...

My Blogging Tips

Image
In 2023, it makes you wonder if Blogging is still relevant especially with content like YouTube, Instagram and Tik Tok. It does make you wonder if people are still taking the time to read blogs. In my opinion I still think blogging is relevant because it's something different and things like articles and blog posts get read daily. The big question you may be asking is should I start my own blog in 2023? My answer to you is you should if you want. It's a great way to express your thoughts and you can write your posts while wearing pyjamas. There are so many benefits and there's no rules to what your blog is all about. As I've been blogging now for nine years I thought why not share some tips that I've learned over the years that may help you to get started with your own blog. 1. Choose your Blog theme The first thing to narrow down is what the theme of your blog is going to be. There are lots of different themes to choose from such as travel, beauty, fashion, parenti...

Study Tips

Image
During my week of university related posts, I thought it would only seem fitting to make a study tips post as you will be doing a lot of studying. This can also be related to school, college, university or if you're feeling productive. These tips can help you with your studying. 1. To Do Lists To do lists are a great way to organise yourself. They don't have to be huge lists but if you have around four or five things on there then you can get it done. A good tip is to start with the task you least want to do so that way you can get that done first then the rest will be easier for you. It's also very satisfying to cross things off your to do list once you've done which can be a motivation in itself. 2. Find a good work space that works for you One thing I can strongly recommend is do not work on your bed. I know it's comfy and very tempting but honestly you won't work that well sitting in bed. As it's the place you sleep and relax on then your mind wi...

My University Advice

Image
Spending three years in university, I've learned a few things and I feel like I could give some advice for anyone going to university. As I'm going back to university in September to study for a masters degree and live in halls of residence, I hope these 11 tips will come in handy for any of you going to university so let's get started. 1. Leave your door open when you're moving in This is a great way to meet your new flatmates when you're moving in. These are the people you're going to be living with for the year so you may as well meet them. Don't spend the first day locked in your room unpacking, you have plenty of time to sort your room out and be unsociable. The moving day is a great time to meet people and make first impressions. Also people may think you're approachable if you leave your door open and it makes it less awkward if the door is closed because nobody on the first day will knock on your door so leave your door open on the first day...

Managing Time

Image
Time is a precious gift and sometimes we can struggle to manage our time wisely. Everyone does have off days where they are lazy and don't really do much. Some days people do much and are left feeling a little overwhelmed. I thought I'd share my tips on time management to help you out on a daily basis and manage your time wisely to have a good productive day. 1. Wake up early I know I probably say this every time I make a productive post but I can guarantee if you look around at other blog posts and advice about being productive, the first thing they will tell you is to wake up early. It gives you more time in the day and honestly you will feel good about waking up early. The more you wake up early, the more your body will get used to waking up early. 2. Get ready within an hour of waking up I find getting ready within an hour of waking up it's the perfect start to being productive. I find getting dressed into clothes makes me feel good because I know if I get d...

11 Tips For Lock Down

Image
As many of you are aware, we are meant to be in a lock down where we should stay inside. This is very confusing for all of us and nobody really knows the right or wrong way of being in lock down. I thought I'd make this post to give you guys some tips on what to do during lock down. 1. Create a schedule for yourself Your days may get very confusing and while it is very tempting to sit around, doing nothing all day. Try to get yourself into a new routine by creating a weekly schedule. Dedicate days to specific jobs or tasks you have to do whether it's jobs around the house or work stuff you need to get done. Try to create a schedule for yourself. 2. Keep yourself busy with different hobbies Now is the time to try out some new hobbies. Afterall, now we have the time to do these things. Whether that's learning a new language, baking something new or creating some form of art. Even doing some gardening or growing a plant is a way to keep you busy. 3. Don't panic, ...

Getting Into A Routine

Image
As we're now a few days into the new year, we're getting closer to the time where some of us are going back to school, university or work. Our usual routine is shaking up over the holidays and sometimes it can be difficult to get into a routine. I am someone that has always struggled to get into a routine. Most of the time I will go to bed at a ridiculously late time or sometimes I'll get up at a ridiculously early hour. Now I've tried many times to watch morning and evening routines so I kind of got a rough idea on how to get yourself into a healthy, normal routine. Of course everyone is different. Some of us are early birds, some of us are night owls and some of us just are in between. I just thought I'd give you a guys a reasonable routine that you can either follow or change it up a bit to suit your needs. The Morning  1. Set one alarm We've had a moment where we set multiple alarms and learn to either switch them off or hit the snooze button. The ...

Dissertation Tips

Image
I know I said in my last post that I'd make a post after my lecture at two but you know I had some thoughts and feelings as well as talks with my friends about this year. Mostly about this looming dissertation which I was freaking out about. However, I've figured out a way to make it less stressful and easier than what I was originally anticipating. I thought I'd share the advice I've learned with you guys to help you as well as a reminder to myself on how to get through the dreaded dissertation. 1. Break It Down I know a dissertation has a lot of words. In my uni, the minimum word count is 8,000 words and the maximum word count is 10,000. That is a lot of words to write and it just seems like so much. However, if you break the word count down month by month, section by section then you'll realise that it might be easier than you originally thought. For example I set a goal to get 4,500 words done by Christmas. How I broke that down is by splitting the wor...

Updated Blog Schedule

Image
As it is a new year, I thought I'd update the blog schedule to suit my schedule. I will try my best to stick to this schedule but I can't promise anything. I will be posting at least twice a week, maybe even more if I feel like posting everyday for a week or even a month. I'm not setting any day to post on because sometimes my week can be busy and it's hard to keep track. Besides I could make a post on a particular day which is not on the correct day to post so it's just easier not to set a particular day to post on. How you can keep up to date with this blog is on the right of this page. Follow me on Bloglovin and I will follow you back:  https://www.bloglovin.com/blogs/megan-time-14514819 Follow me on Twitter as I always tweet whenever I make a new post:  https://twitter.com/MeganIvyT You can also enter your email address on the right of this page to receive updates for when I make a post. That's all I have to say about my update blog schedule an...

My Updated Blog Schedule

Image
Hello everybody, I thought as it's the last day of March I'd make a post saying about my blog posting schedule for April and hopefully for the rest of the year. I suppose April is going to be a test as to whether I can stick to the schedule as we know the last time I didn't quite stick to a schedule. Anyway, I've done a lot of thinking about days in which I'm busy at university and when I'm not busy. From doing this thinking I've come up with a reasonable schedule which could lead me to posting three times a week. I figured those would be good days as Tuesday I have a lecture from 9am until 11am and nothing after so I'll have plenty of time to make a post on that day. Usually that day spent doing nothing so now I can actually do something on that day. Thursday is another good day as I only have one lecture between 11am and 1pm so that's another good day for me to make a post. Then of course there's the weekend where I'm normall...

My Blog Schedule!

Image
Hey guys! I want to post regularly on this blog rather than come out with a random post on an unexpected day. So I decided to come up with a schedule where I post twice a week on Mondays and Fridays. I was thinking this would be easier seeing as I rarely do anything on those days and I thought it would be a good idea to post at the start of the week and the end of the week. I may post something in between if there was something on my mind and I just wanted to post something.  Anyway, that's about it. Feel free to follow me on my social media accounts if you want to see what I'm up to when I'm not blogging. My username is @MeganIvyT for both my Twitter and Instagram.  https://twitter.com/MeganIvyT https://instagram.com/meganivyt/ So yeah, that's all I have to say and I'll be back on Monday with another post.  Bye guys. I love you all.  Megan  xoxo
