Rainy Days

Image
There’s just something about these rainy days that I love. Especially when you’re inside, don’t have to go out. You can just sit and listen to the rain. It’s nice when you’re doing something like reading a book, watching a movie and playing a video game while you listen to the rain out there. I’m a weirdo that will also just stare out the window and watch it. I love it. Even though it’s a pain, especially when you have to go out in it, if you have a decent coat it’s honestly fine. Now that I have a car, it’s a lot easier for me to go out in the rain whereas before I’d have to brave going to the bus stop or the train station. Now it’s slightly easier. I still love it though as I’m learning a lot about my car's windscreen wiper features as it has different settings.  It’s inevitable for the rain to come as we’ve had a lot of sunny days in Summer, it’s nice to have a bit of rain back. Maybe it’s a little too much but who cares, it’s Autumn and it rains. Get used to it. I’m someone who...

Autumn Self Care

Image
It’s important to have a little self care in your life. A lot of people think that means having a pamper session with face masks and sorting your skincare. The reality with self care is doing little things that will make you feel happier and improve your mood. Sometimes it’s good to take time to do things for yourself because we all need to take care of ourselves every now and then.  Here’s a few little things I’ve done to add a little self care in my life. Bubble Bath I do love a bubble bath because sometimes it’s nice to take the time to relax. Add bubbles, put a bath bomb in and watch something in the bath. Especially as the days are getting colder, a nice hot bath does the trick. Putting on comfy clothes I love this time of year because it means I get to make use out of the many jumpers I own. Especially after having a bath, it’s nice to put on a comfy jumper and joggers to make you feel nice and cosy.  Hot beverage Personally, I love drinking coffee. I probably drink way ...

As I've been into reading over August, I thought I'd share my to be read pile with you and all the books I'm excited to read this month. Let's get started. None Of This Is True By Lisa Jewell I'm so excited to read this book because I've previously read two of Lisa Jewell's books which were Watching You and Don't Let Him In. Honestly, I loved them both as they had such great twists and turns. Honestly, I couldn't put them down when I was reading them. I got this book as I wanted to read more and I've heard a lot of positive things about this one. It follows the story of a Podcaster who has a subject who wants her story to be told in the podcast. Soon the more the podcast goes deep into the subject life, the darker it becomes. I'm excited because I also have the audiobook. I'm a weirdo who likes to listen to audiobooks while reading. I heard having the audiobook is great because it has the audio track like a podcast during the podcast scen...

August Favourites

Image
We've come to the end of another month, I can't quite believe it's the end of August and the end of Summer. You know what that means, it's time for a list of everything I've been loving this month. This month has a particular theme but it's what I've been loving. Let's get started Hell's Kitchen I decided to watch Hell's Kitchen this month. I was watching series 21 as it was on ITVX and I know the next two seasons were also on there. I forgot I'd watched series 21 as it had been a while but watching it I remembered I had seen it. Even though I've watched it before I still enjoyed watching it and it's just a comfort show, it's an easy watch and who doesn't love hearing Gordon Ramsay swearing left, right and centre. It's therapeutic in a weird way. Definitely something I enjoyed watching this month. Tenable This is a surprising one for me as I don't always watch quiz shows but recently I've been watching this as it...

August Reads

Image
In August, I did quite a bit of reading. I've been slacking with my reading and fallen behind on my Goodreads reading challenge which is twenty five books. This month I decided to read again as the first book I read made me realise how much I love reading and got me back in the reading game. I just love how a book can transport you to a different world and let you escape real life. I'm not going to lie, I read a lot of good books this month and I thought I'd share them with you now. With Love From The Morisaki Bookshop by Satoshi Yagisawa This book is a duology which is at Days At The Morisaki Bookshop and More Days At The Morisaki Bookshop. I picked this book up a while ago when I was browsing Waterstones for a new book and this one caught my eye. It’s such a pretty cover that I had to get it. I’d also heard of this book from somewhere and I thought why not. It follows the life of Takako who finds herself moving into her Uncle Satoru’s bookshop after a heartbreak. It sees ...

Things That Make Me Happy

Image
I thought I'd share five things that make me happy because it's good to have things in your life that make you happy and these are mine. Let's get started.  Driving My Own Car I honestly love driving my car. It's a great feeling just being able to get in my car and go anywhere. I love listening to music in my car because when I drive, I'm singing along and it's a great feeling. It's therapeutic. When I first got my car, it made me nervous but as long as you know what you're doing and go at your pace. Plus remain focused then you'll be fine. It gives you so much freedom and independence when you drive and honestly, I don't know what I did before I had my own car.  Playing a video game I don't know why but getting invested in a good video game is something that really makes me happy. Sometimes I love replaying games I know off by heart but it helps me to switch my brain off and focus on something in a while. Recently I've played Tomb Raider...

December Favourites

Well, here we are. The last post of 2024. I can't quite believe we're at the end of the year. It just flew by this year and I feel like so much has happened this year. As is an end of the month tradition on this blog, here are all the things I've been loving this month. Let's get started. Blood Brothers I watched this musical in the Palace Theatre in Manchester at the end of last month and I honestly fell in love with it. I downloaded the album and I've been listening to it on repeat. It's such a unique story, how two brothers are separated at birth and go on to live two separate lives in different social classes but yet they don't let that stop their friendship. It has the innocence of childhood to growing into your teenage years to facing the reality of adulthood. It's such a sweet but also heartbreaking story. I even went and bought the book to read so I can relive the story again as well as watching clips on YouTube. I'm so fascinated by it that ...

Favourite Reads Of 2024

Image
In 2024, according to my good reads. I've read sixty books which is kind of crazy. I may have cheated a little and listened to audiobooks which in my opinion counts as reading the book because you're still consuming the story just in audio form rather than written form. I also read the entire A Series of Unfortunate Events and also all the Horrid Henry books which I mainly did for nostalgia purposes. That's why I read so many books this year but I thought I'd break down what my favourite reads of 2024 were. Let's get started. A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder Series By Holly Jackson So I got around to finishing the final two books and the novella which I really enjoyed. Especially the final book. No spoilers but there’s a part two of the book that makes it all worth it. I couldn’t put it down. I really enjoyed Holly Jackson’s work this year but particularly the last two books of the series were incredible. I still need to get around to watching the new tv series of the ...

October Favourites

Image
The end of another month and that means it's time to share what I've been loving this month. Let's get started. Not For Broadcast I was looking for a new game to play and I came across this one on the PlayStation store. It’s where you are a tv broadcaster and you’re controlling the news. I didn’t know what to make of it at first but when I started getting into the story, I loved it. There’s so many paths you can go down with this game and it has multiple endings. I love those kinds of games because each play through is different. You also learn of details that all start to make sense with each path you take. I’ve been trying to achieve the trophies as well as get multiple endings and so far each play through has given me a different ending which is great. It’s definitely a fun game and also has different levels of difficulty but I go with the story mode difficulty because it’s less stressful. This was a game that I hadn’t heard of before but when I got it, I really enjoyed ...

Day 7 Book

Image
The seventh photo of my August Photo Challenge is a book. The book I'm currently reading is The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman. I'm enjoying it so far and I'm excited to see where it goes. The only slight niggle I have is I'm slightly getting bored of true crime stories probably because I've read so many and I would really love to read a contemporary romance novel. I may have to break my rule and read two books at once. I'm not quite sure what to read though so I may reread one I've already got. I'm just in the mood for a bit of romance in my life and the only romance I get these days is through books. I was eying up my bookshelf the other day and there are so many books I would love to reread again. A series I'm really tempted to read is the Shopaholic series again as it has been so long since I last read it fully. Although, I'm not sure I can handle another series while I'm currently reading a series. I may just have to stick to a st...

Day 4 Happiness

Image
The fourth photo of my photo challenge is happiness and this is my happiness. The one thing that always makes me really happy is my bookshelf. I'm making my way through reading my entire bookshelf but I just love seeing my books as they make me happy. I always love having time to sit down and read a book, especially when it's a good read and I'm able to get lost in a world.  My books are always something that makes me happy and it's hard for people that aren't big readers to understand but it's always a nice feeling to see them on display. I hope one day to create a little library in my own home and have a little reading nook. That's the dream. Even going into a bookshop brings me so much calm and makes me happy. Especially if I'm on my own and can just take my time browsing the books. Honestly, it's nice to have something to enjoy. Some like cars, I like books. It's a hobby that I love to have as it makes me happy. If it's not harming or cau...

July Favourites

Image
The end of another month which means it's time for another monthly favourites post. This is what I've been loving this month in July. Let's get started. How To Kill A Guy In 10 Ways by Eve Kellman I absolutely loved reading this book because I had no idea what way it was going to go. I obviously knew murder would be involved but I could see this story going a number of ways. It's definitely relatable in the sense that every woman has had a horror story happen to them on a night out where they've either been harrassed, attacked, spiked or even worse which is really quite sad. Anyway, this book dives into that world as Millie runs a helpline for women who are feeling unsafe during a night out, they can contact M. However, M soon turns to murder and Millie finds herself becoming a vigilante against the creepy men. I absolutely loved reading this as it gave me similar vibes to How To Kill Your Family and I honestly enjoyed reading this one. I'd highly recommend it i...

Dear Reader

Image
Dear Reader, Why hello there? I thought I’d direct this post to you, the one who is reading this. How are you doing? I hope life is treating you well at the moment. If not then I hope things will get better for you. There’s normally a silver lining to things, you just have to look for it. I didn’t really have much planned for today's post if I’m honest but I thought that’s okay. Life has been a bit of a roller coaster for me recently and sometimes things happen. Making Little Changes

Image
Everyone has goals in life whether it's being healthier, being richer, being more sociable or trying something new. Whatever the goals are, make sure that they're for you and nobody else. As long as they'll make you happier and be a more positive version of yourself then that's okay. Sometimes achieving our goals requires us to make a few little changes in life to get us one step closer to our goals. Here are a few little changes I've made recently and I've already started seeing the benefits of doing these little changes.  Let's get started. Journaling I always had an on and off again relationship with journaling. Sometimes I'll really commit to it then other times I'll just completely forget about it. Recently I've started to journal a lot more. Particularly in the mornings when I wake up but sometimes in the evening when I have a lot of feelings that have built up in the day and I just need to let them out. Journaling really helps me with that...
