May Favourites

Image
The end of another month and it's time for a favourite post of everything I've loved in May. Let's get started. The Sims 4 I always go through a phase where I'm obsessed with The Sims then all of a sudden I'll stop playing it and it will be months. This month during my creative block, I got back into playing The Sims 4 and I've been loving it. It's such a comfort game. I know it's basically looking after a sim and giving them a life. I've enjoyed levelling up the skills and building their career. I've managed to get my sim married and am now trying for a baby. I've also had a lot of fun building houses on The Sims. Creating luxury mansions that I know my Sims could never afford. Although, my Sim did earn over $160,000 so I was able to move my Sim into one of my built luxury mansions which was an achievement in itself. Plus as my Sim is currently trying for a baby, I need a bigger house. Anyway, as you can tell I've been loving The Sims 4 ...

Favourite Reads Of 2024

Image
In 2024, according to my good reads. I've read sixty books which is kind of crazy. I may have cheated a little and listened to audiobooks which in my opinion counts as reading the book because you're still consuming the story just in audio form rather than written form. I also read the entire A Series of Unfortunate Events and also all the Horrid Henry books which I mainly did for nostalgia purposes. That's why I read so many books this year but I thought I'd break down what my favourite reads of 2024 were. Let's get started. A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder Series By Holly Jackson So I got around to finishing the final two books and the novella which I really enjoyed. Especially the final book. No spoilers but there’s a part two of the book that makes it all worth it. I couldn’t put it down. I really enjoyed Holly Jackson’s work this year but particularly the last two books of the series were incredible. I still need to get around to watching the new tv series of the ...

Day 7 Book

Image
The seventh photo of my August Photo Challenge is a book. The book I'm currently reading is The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman. I'm enjoying it so far and I'm excited to see where it goes. The only slight niggle I have is I'm slightly getting bored of true crime stories probably because I've read so many and I would really love to read a contemporary romance novel. I may have to break my rule and read two books at once. I'm not quite sure what to read though so I may reread one I've already got. I'm just in the mood for a bit of romance in my life and the only romance I get these days is through books. I was eying up my bookshelf the other day and there are so many books I would love to reread again. A series I'm really tempted to read is the Shopaholic series again as it has been so long since I last read it fully. Although, I'm not sure I can handle another series while I'm currently reading a series. I may just have to stick to a st...

My Summer Reading List

Image
The summer season is the perfect time to catch up on some reading. I find myself taking a book with me everywhere I go or having an audiobook ready to listen to if I'm on the go during the Summer season. I also have a collection of books that I'm excited to read this Summer as I only have seven books left on my bookshelf to read then I would have read my entire bookshelf. It was nearly down to five but then I bought two more books this month. My excuse was they were two books to complete a series and there was a deal on them which you will see on the list. Let's get started. Currently Reading: How To Kill A Guy In 10 Ways by Eve Kellman This one I'm excited to read because I love a good true crime read and this story is actually quite interesting. It's about when you're on a night out or on a date then something doesn't feel quite right. Maybe the person is not taking no for an answer or following you home when you're on your own then there is a helpline...

A Book Haul

Image
As someone who is currently reading two books at the moment which are The Burnout by Sophie Kinsella and As Old As Time by Liz Braswell. I only have two more books left on my bookshelf so I thought I'd look into getting some new books. That's exactly what I've done with three new books on my bookshelf that I'm very excited to read and thought I'd share with you today in a book haul.  Let's get started. The Happiest Ever After by Milly Johnson Something I've really been trying to do is branch out and read different author's books and so far it's paid off as I've been thoroughly pleased with my findings. This is no exception and honestly I'm really excited to give this book a read as I can relate how heartedly to it. It's about Polly who is currently having a rough time at the moment with an awful boss and her partner ended up cheating on her. One thing she does love is writing her novel where she's created a more successful version of ...

Books I've Enjoyed In 2024

Image
In 2024, I've read 22 books which is kind of crazy because I never usually read so many books at the beginning of this year. I think what helped was that I read a book series in the past two months which is why it's so many and I will get onto that. I thought I'd talk you through the books I've read and loved so far in 2024. Let's get started! The Good Girl's Guide Murder Series by Holly Jackson I will admit I did read the first book last year but I read the next two books plus the novella at the start of 2024 and I gotta say, I thoroughly enjoyed this series. I loved the first book and the second book was even better. It made me worried that the third book wouldn't be as good but I was wrong. Honestly, it just got better and better. As someone who watches true crime videos on YouTube for fun, this was definitely worth a read and I'd highly recommend it. This is a series that really gets better and better with every book. Honestly, these books were my fa...

My Top Reads Of 2023

Image
I've actually read quite a few books this year. In fact, as I'm writing this, I've read 25 books. I currently have three books on the go at the moment so that may go up by the time this post goes out but who knows. Either way, I thought I'd share my top five reads of 2023 with you. Don't worry there will be no spoilers to any of the books in this post. Let's get started. A Good Girl's Guide To Murder by Holly Jackson This was one of the first books I read in 2023 but I remember really enjoying it. I've been really into watching True Crime on YouTube so this one sounded right up my street. I actually listened to the audiobook version which was really effective for this book. It's about a girl called Pippa who chooses to cover a closed murder case for her final-year project but ends up uncovering a lot more that she bargained for and someone is trying to stop her from finding out the real truth. The audiobook works because it has recordings as if Pippa...

Happy Halloween

Image
Happy Halloween! It's the scariest day of the year! Not really, but it's still exciting.  Whether you're going out trick or treating, having a halloween party, watching a scary movie or listening to a true crime podcast. I hope you have a very spooky day and that you have fun. Remember to stay safe when trick or treating because you never know who is on the other side of the door and just remember to have fun and it's okay to get a little spooked but also know when enough is enough. Especially if you're home alone, don't spook yourself so much that you can't sleep. When I've been home alone, I just turn all my lights off so no trick or treaters can come knocking on my door. Although I think the rule is there has to be a lit pumpkin outside the house as that's a sign that it's okay for trick or treaters to come. Whether people listen to that rule or not, just remember to stay safe and don't go trick or treating on your own.  Anyway, I hope you...

Things To Do This Halloween

Image
Halloween is just a week away and to many it may seem like just another day but for a lot of people Halloween is a time to make plans and celebrate the day for all its worth. I thought I'd share some ideas on things you can do this Halloween to get you ready for the spooky day.  1. Trick or Treat This is an obvious one but trick or treating is a traditional thing when Halloween comes around. It's often where kids and teenagers dress up and go around knocking on neighbours doors for sweets. Of course I think trick or treating when you're an adult is often frowned upon but it's fun for the kids and teenagers as it's a chance for them to get lots of sweets. It's important though to only knock on people's houses that have a pumpkin outside their house as many don't like to be disturbed. Although some people just ignore that rule and knock anyway. On the other end, if you're like me and the thought of having people knock on your door throughout the night ...

June Favourites

Image
Another month is gone. I can't believe we're about to be in the seven month of 2022. Is it me or is it going so quickly? I feel like it was yesterday that it was January and now we're about to enter July. It's crazy. June for me was pretty much a month of just working which is the standard adult life but it pays which is honestly the reason why anyone works to be honest. Even though I've been working, I've had a few things that are definitely my favourites and have helped me out throughout this month.  YouTubers I've been watching a lot of True Crime videos on YouTube which is just something I've become weirdly obsessed with recently but honestly, I just find them very informative, and I feel more cautious about things. There are two YouTubers that are definitely my favourites in this particular genre, but I know there are many more amazing YouTubers to watch if you're into true crime.  That Chapter This was one of the first YouTubers I watched when ...
