June Favourites

Another month is gone. I can't believe we're about to be in the seven month of 2022. Is it me or is it going so quickly? I feel like it was yesterday that it was January and now we're about to enter July. It's crazy. June for me was pretty much a month of just working which is the standard adult life but it pays which is honestly the reason why anyone works to be honest. Even though I've been working, I've had a few things that are definitely my favourites and have helped me out throughout this month.

YouTubers
I've been watching a lot of True Crime videos on YouTube which is just something I've become weirdly obsessed with recently but honestly, I just find them very informative, and I feel more cautious about things. There are two YouTubers that are definitely my favourites in this particular genre, but I know there are many more amazing YouTubers to watch if you're into true crime.

That Chapter
This was one of the first YouTubers I watched when I was getting into True Crime videos and honestly, he is the best. The way he tells the story is just amazing. He adds humour but also knows the right time to be serious. He adds videos and pictures to really tell the true crime story and honestly, it's very informative. He has done so many true crime videos on his channel and it's not a surprise that he has over a million subscribers. If you're interested in True Crime videos, then I'd highly recommend this YouTuber.

Danielle Kirsty
This is a recent YouTuber I've been watching but honestly, I love her style of videos. She does makeup while she talks about the case, but her makeup skills are so amazing. I'm always fascinated when she's doing her eyeshadow in particular. It doesn't take away from the true crime in anyway as she still uses pictures and video clips when she's telling the story and is always respectful with the way she tells the story. Honestly, it's quite nice to watch her doing her makeup while she's talking about these cases that are sometimes really gruesome and disturbing. Either way I think she deserves way more subscribers than she has but I'd highly recommend watching true crime videos. It's definitely a more laid back way of telling the story of the case but, it's very informative and get a real understanding of the case as a whole.

TV Shows

The Staircase
I feel like this month has a theme of True Crime. I didn't plan this at all. However, my mum actually suggested I watch this after the first two episodes. So I watched the first episode and instantly I wanted to watch the next episode. It's a fascinating story. It stars Colin Firth who plays Michael Peterson who was accused of murdering his second wife, Kathleen Peterson. The reason is the show is called the Staircase is because she was found at the bottom of the stairs where it was a horrific blood bath along the walls. This is a very interesting show because it goes back and forth in the timeline between before Kathleen's death and through the time of the investigation, trial, verdict and afterwards. I noticed a pattern as well as like with most cases there were a number of theories and during the episode it would play the theory out. Episode 6 was probably the maddest theory of them all. Either way this show was interesting because it made you want to know what happened. It runs for eight episodes, each an hour long but it was a very interesting story. I had never heard of this case until this show, so my true crime mind was eager to watch. I watched it with my mum which I was glad about because some of the scenes are pretty gruesome so this is definitely a more adult viewing but either way Colin Firth portrayed this man so well and this is a show I would recommend watching if you're into True Crime.

Video Games
As someone who owns a PlayStation 2, 3 and 4, you can definitely tell I love playing my video games but I'm someone who always likes playing a throwback game and this month was no exception as I went back to my favourite series. Harry Potter.

Harry Potter and the Order Of Phoenix PS2
This may be very random, but I've been meaning to play one of the Harry Potter games for a while but this one is definitely one of my favourites. The fact it's the first Harry Potter game where you have a realistic Hogwarts to explore is pretty cool. You definitely feel like you're exploring Hogwarts in this game, and you have little tasks to do around the castle as well as mini games like chess, gobstones or exploding snap. To progress through the game you have to collect DA members or messing with Umbridge. I decided to replay this game as I'm currently reading Order of the Phoenix, so it put me in the mood for this game. Either way I wasn't let down and I was happy to replay it this month. It's definitely put me in the mood to replay the other Harry Potter games but this one is not my complete favourite although it still is a good game. Either way I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for a good Harry Potter game to play.

Beauty
I feel like it's been a while since I mentioned anything beauty related in this blog, but I like makeup as much as the next person. In fact I find doing my makeup therapeutic, I don't know if that is a weird thing to say but it just makes me feel better and like I'm in control of my life. I'm only wearing makeup for me and nobody else.

Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner
I'm someone that never used to do winged eyeliner, mainly because I was terrible at it. Instead though I just started practising and a tip I got from the TV show Glow Up is to do your eyeliner with your eyes open. Honestly that helps and just follow the shape of your eye. Don't try to wing it when it comes to the actual wing. Soon you'll find your technique. I have to rave though about this eyeliner because it lasts so long in my opinion. It dries really quickly but even better it doesn't shift around your face throughout the day. I wore this on a night out and honestly it lasted the whole night. I would highly recommend this one and it's so affordable too. Definitely give it a go if you want to try winged eyeliner. It's worth it.

There we have it; those are my favourites for June. Let me know what you've been loving this month in the comments below. It's definitely Summer now and I hope you have a lovely month in July.

Thank you for reading my blog and I'll be back again soon with another post.

See you then.
