July Favourites
The end of another month means it's time for another monthly favourites update. Let's get started.
Johnson’s Baby Shampoo
I was looking for a way to clean my makeup brushes and normally I’d buy a specific makeup brush cleaner. Yet those are always so expensive and I never know if they work properly. I remember ages ago on YouTube someone recommended Johnson’s baby shampoo so I decided to give it a go. All I can say is it worked perfectly. It cleans the brushes so well and because it’s a gentle shampoo I know it will be okay for my skin after cleaning my brushes with it. Plus it was very satisfying seeing the makeup coming off the brushes. Definitely something I’d be using again and again for when I clean my makeup brushes. I highly recommend it.
Bratz Rock Angelz PS2
I have a lot of ps2 games that I’ve kept for nostalgia but also because they bring back so many memories. I also am fortunate to still have my PS2 so from time to time I will play on it. I was looking through my games and I saw Bratz Rock Angelz which I felt like playing. I’ve played all the Bratz games when I was a teenager and this is by far my favourite one. I like the storyline. I love doing their makeup, dressing them in their clothing lines. It’s just a fun nostalgic game that I know so well as it brought back so many memories for me. I thoroughly enjoyed playing it. I even decided to watch Bratz rock angelz on YouTube which I’m pretty sure all the films are on YouTube plus episodes of the tv show. I was definitely a Bratz lover growing up. It came at a time where I felt like I was too old for Barbie and Bratz were just there. I even remember going to Woolworths and spending money on the dolls. That’s how old I am. Plus I had a load of their dvds and games. I was a big fan. Playing this game definitely brought back all the memories and I loved it.
Scrapbooking
One of my favourite things to do is scrapbook. I got really into it from watching videos on YouTube. Since then my collection of scrapbooking supplies has just grown and grown. Recently I was recommended a bunch of Squid Game scrapbooking videos online which inspired me a little with creators like Tori Journal and Violet Story Scrapbooking. I ended up doing a couple of Squid Game pages of my own. One of the most intriguing characters for me on Squid Game was Thanos so I had to do a little tribute page. Plus of course the main guy himself, Player 456 Seong Gi Hun. It was fun to get creative and sometimes I don't know how it's going to end up. It's not always perfect but that's the beauty of scrapbooking, there's no rules and sometimes imperfect is better than perfect. Definitely something I've enjoyed doing a lot this month and will continue to enjoy.
Jigsaw Puzzle
Something that I enjoyed doing this month was a jigsaw puzzle and reminded me that it's very therapeutic. I love how once you complete the edges, everything just slowly comes together. You just find pieces that go together, like for me on this jigsaw I focus on the green coat and the books on the bottom right. It just eventually all came together. It reminded me that I should do more jigsaws. 500 pieces are great because they're not too big so can easily fit on any table and it doesn't always take that long. Maybe a couple of hours but it's something I want to do more of. I'm trying to do more hobbies offline and away from technology if I can, although I do end up watching something while I do a jigsaw. I still love it especially when you complete it, it's a very satisfying feeling and definitely a favourite for me this month.
There we have it, those are my favourites for the month of July. Let me know what you've been loving this month. I'd love to hear all about it.
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and I'll be back tomorrow with the first post of August.
See you then.
