Happiness

What does happiness mean to me?

Sometimes something so simple as being happy can be the most difficult thing to do.

It's so easy to smile and pretend to be happy. However, on the inside the mind tells a different story.

I'm a bit of an over thinker especially in social situations because I'm worried I'm going to say or do the wrong thing which could have a bad impact on the situation. I'm a bit of a worrier too because I'm worried about a lot of things and that people will judge me.

Yet I don't know why things like this should bother me. At the end of the day we're all human and everyone makes mistakes. We all have good days and bad days. Sometimes it's one of those days. So who really cares?

Back to the topic at hand. Happiness. I could sit here and write a list of things to make you happy but I would be wrong. We all experience happiness in our own little ways. Whether it's the little things of the big things. We all have things that make us happy.

So I'm gonna tell you five random things that make me happy.

1. Pasta

I love eating pasta. Noodles, macaroni cheese, spaghetti bolognese. Whatever pasta it is I love it. It just makes me feel good. I know it's not healthy but pasta is definitely my comfort food. It makes me happy.

2. Reading a good book

Many may relate to this but reading a good book is a really great feeling. Just escaping reality and entered a whole new world just makes me happy. Curling up on my bed and just reading for hours is so relaxing. Words can't describe how it feels but it makes me so happy.

3. Spending time with my mum

I love my um so moments with her feel so nice. We both watch Coronation Street so I enjoy those evenings spend getting lost in a soap opera. It feels nice.. Also I would never say no to a hug from my mum. She's been there for me since day 1. She was there through my primary and secondary school to my university years. I know I could tell her anything and I'm so lucky to have her. I love my mum and she makes me happy.

4. Listening to music

Sometimes lyrics speak louder than words. There's a son for every mood. Happiness. Sadness. Heartbreak. Motivation. There's a lot of playlists online for any mood. Personally I prefer to make my own playlists because I'm very particular about the songs I listen to. I have a playlist filled with over 500 songs on it and a lot of them are songs I love. It just feels so good to shuffle through songs I love. Plus imagining being in a music video or performing in a concert is always fun when you're listening to music. It definitely makes me happy.

5. Alone Time

I'm an introvert so I enjoy having some alone time. I can also be socially awkward at times but depending on the situation I can also be social but most of time I do need my alone time or I'll go crazy. Being alone isn't sad. You can actually enjoy yourself when you're alone. I'm currently sitting in Starbucks alone, drinking a caramel macchiato while listening to an audiobook. It feels good right now so yeah I like my alone time.

Anyway, that's all my thoughts on happiness. I hope you enjoyed this post and that it was helpful to some of you. Let me know what makes you happy.

I'll be back again tomorrow with another post.

See you then.
