Being Single On Valentine's Day

It's that day again where all the couples around the world celebrate Valentine's Day while us singletons are left not feeling the love. Last year I went into a rant about my problem with Valentine's Day which I will leave a link below for you guys to check out.

Basically I have a problem with Valentine's day because it is all about people in a relationship but they never actually talk about us singletons who don't have anyone to share Valentine's Day with. I mean it must be nice if you have a partner or friends to enjoy the day with but it's almost like they don't want us singletons to enjoy the day of love.

I feel like Valentine's day should encourage some self love because there are a lot of single people out there and there might be a whole list of reasons why they are not in a relationship. This being my 23rd year of being single on Valentine's Day, I am kind of used to it just being another day in the calendar.

Most of the time I will choose to make this day a Single's Appreciation Day. One good thing is I don't have to worry about buying a gift for someone and I also do not have to worry about doing whatever my partner wants to do. I am choosing this day to be a little bit selfish and focus on me. I like to be reminded that the single life is not so bad. That's why I choose to do this day doing things I love.

Have a movie night, watching all your favourite movies. Buy some popcorn and really go to town. Most likely there will be a lot of couples out and about so avoid them by staying inside. Order a takeaway or pizza. I did that one year and it was amazing. Buy yourself a box of chocolates and eat them all. It is not wrong to buy yourself a box of chocolates. Even flowers. Nobody is going to know your buying flowers for yourself. You can always say you're buying it for someone you love and that someone is yourself.

There is no point spending Valentine's Day wallowing in self-pity over the fact you do not have a partner. It is time to realise that you are an amazing person and anybody would be lucky to have you. Just spend the day loving yourself and doing whatever makes you happy because that is all that matters.

Write a love letter to yourself and you will feel so good. I wrote one for myself in a blog post which I will leave a link below.

Being single on Valentine's Day doesn't have to be depressing. You can honestly have the best day ever and do whatever makes you happy.

Anyway, that's all I have to say. I love you all and I hope you have an amazing day.

I'll be back again soon with another blog post.

See you then.
