My Pamper Routine

Sometimes we all need a bit of self-care in our lives because life can be stressful at times. It's always good to have a little pampering to not only take care of your skin but to make yourself feel better on the inside.

I thought I would share my little paper routine which has helped me to feel better about myself.

Let's get started.

1. Shower/Bath

The perfect way to start a pamper routine is giving yourself a freshen up by having either a shower or a bath. Personally I prefer to have a shower because it is so much quicker plus I can easily wash my whole body and hair in one go.

When I want to give my hair a full wash I like to go the extra mile by using a pre shampoo hair mask that only put on my scalp. I let it sit for five minutes and usually it hardens a bit during this time. Once five minutes is up, I'll get in the shower to wash it out before using the shampoo and conditioner. This is perfect if you have greasy hair (which I do) and I am always satisfied with how this turns out. I would definitely recommend the three step Elvive Extraordinary Clay hair treatment.

2. Comfy Clothes

Once you have freshened up after your bath and shower, it is time to dry up and put on some comfy clothes. To have a perfect pamper session then you gotta be comfortable. I prefer to wear some fluffy cosy pyjamas but it is entirely up to you.

3. Wash Your Face

Now this is a step you can take while you're having a shower or a bath but a good thing to do is wash your face. I like to use the Garnier Skin Active Gel Wash because it is a good cleanser and perfect for my sensitive skin. Washing your face just makes you feel more refreshed and wide awake.

4. Face Mask

Of course you can't do a pamper routine without a face mask. I really like this Spa Secrets Charcoal Gel Face Mask because it has a gel consistency and it is very easy to wash off. It doesn't dry up on your skin so you don't feel constrained by it. It also comes with a silicone brush so it is easy to apply and it's less messy.

5. Toner

Once you have completed your face mask and washed it off then you can use a toner. A few years ago, I didn't realise what a toner was meant for until I did some research and realised it was for your pores. I really like using Simple products as I have sensitive skin and I like using this toner. I apply it with these organic cosmetic pads because they feel nice and smooth on my skin. I just apply this toner and let it set for ten minutes.

6. Under Eye Cream

I have an issue with dark circles under my eyes so I like to use Superdrug Brightening Eye Cream. I just add a small drop to my finger before I half it again to massage it under my eyes. I find it helps make my eyes feel brighter.

7. Moisturiser

It's always good to make sure your skin feels moisturised. As I have mentioned before, I like Simple products so I love using the Kind To Skin Light Moisturiser which also has SPF 15 so I am also protecting my skin from the sun.

8. Body Lotion

I never used to use body lotion but recently I have developed dry skin so I decided to try Aveeno Daily Moisturising Creamy Oil. I really like the pump so I can control how much I use and it feels really moisturising on the skin.

9. Eyebrows + Nail Care

One thing I like to do during my pamper session is take care of my eyebrows and nails. I like using this travel manicure kit from Primark because it has everything I need. I do my eyebrows first where I use the tweezers to pluck any stray hairs to make sure they look normal. Once my eyebrows have been taken care of I will do my nails. I will make sure they are filed and clean out any dirt that is in the finger nail as well as trimming them if I need to.

10. Paint Your Nails

Finally, the perfect way to end a good pampering session is to paint your nails. I like to use Primark's Strong Nail Coat as a base for my nails. For colour I really love using Barry M's Gelly Nail Paint as I find it lasts longer than other nail polish. My favourite is the Black Cherry colour.

Anyway, that is my pamper routine. I hope you enjoyed it and took something from it to apply to your own pamper routine. Of course nobody's pamper session is the same, the only goal for the perfect pamper routine is to make sure you feel good and relaxed.

I'll be back again soon with another blog post.

See you then.
