Cyprus

Our first day was like any other first day of a holiday, head to the breakfast buffet first thing then go for a walk to have a little nose around before deciding it’s too hot and you’d rather relax by the pool. Although supplies needed to be stocked and luckily the hotels had a supermarket on site so that was pretty straightforward. With water and lays crisps stocked up we headed for the pool. It was so nice when it’s so hot to have the first dip in the cold pool. Nothing beats the feeling of being on holiday. Although after a morning at the pool we had an afternoon having a shower then enjoying some lays crisps and an afternoon nap.
We were half board so we had dinner then afterwards we decided to enjoy the overpriced drinks and watch the evening entertainment. Aside from the usual kids disco, they had bingo so I decided to play thinking I doubt I’ll win and the winnings was €165 which would be nice either way I started crossing off my numbers. Now I was down to very few numbers thinking, someone is going to get it before me but then he called my last number and I shouted bingo. I had won the euros and honestly it was a great feeling because I had essentially earned a profit on our first official day. It’s also the first time I’d ever won bingo so I was definitely feeling a little smug and guarding my bag with my life. Either way our first day in Cyprus was a success and I was feeling positive about the rest of the week.
The rest of the week was honestly the most relaxing week I’ve ever had. It just felt nice to have the time to just enjoy the little things. We didn’t book any excursions on this trip which meant we didn’t feel pressured to do anything. I spent a lot of the time by the pool working on my tan and going for a swim. I was reading I Heart Hawaii by Lindsey Kelk which I ended up finishing halfway through the holiday. I also did a lot of sudoku while listening to music which was honestly so therapeutic.
The breakfast and dinner at the hotel were pretty good. Breakfast was the same pretty much everyday which I liked but dinner was always a nice surprise. I ended up having soup as a starter every time which was very nice. There was always a different soup every night so I expanded my taste further. The main courses were always different and not always your typical selection. I ended up mixing random things like pasta, a chicken or beef dish and some random vegetables but it was always so nice. There was even an international night as well as a Chinese night on our last night which was really tasty. Either way I really enjoyed dinner and honestly going half board is actually not that bad. Yeah you have to pay for drinks but when you have a few bingo winnings it definitely the price of things didn’t really matter. Especially if you’re like me who only drinks Fanta orange at dinner, it’s definitely not bad for €2.50.
One nice thing that happened was because on our first night we arrived late, we had missed dinner so we were given a free voucher to enjoy lunch one day. On my birthday we decided to use that voucher which was very nice because it was a chance to experience what it was like in all inclusive and have a nice lunch too. Of course we still had to pay for drinks but you know what it was worth it. We did also go out for lunch at this nice cafe as we were feeling hungry and as I had those bingo winnings, the only thing I really spent it on was drinks and a few groceries. I thought it was a nice idea to have some lunch so we went for dinner at this cafe where all the food was pretty much for €20 but honestly I didn’t mind. I ended up having some truffle ravioli which I’d never tried before but knew it was something very fancy. It tasted really nice and was definitely something different.
Overall, I had a really lovely time in Cyprus. It was a nice way to spend the week off and I felt so relaxed. I ended up spending most of my winnings on duty free at the airport. I bought Clinique skincare products as well as Chanel Coco Mademoiselle which I’ve always wanted and thought I had €160 to spare so why not. It’s the most I’ve ever spent on myself but you know what when on holiday and I may as well use my bingo winnings on something worthwhile.
Now, I’m back home after the holiday and I feel quite good about myself. It’s always a good feeling being on holiday that you almost don’t want to come home but life goes on and I have work tomorrow. Everything has to go back to normal.

Anyway, that’s all I have to say about my holiday in Cyprus. Let me know if you’ve had any holidays abroad this year, I’d love to hear about them.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and I’ll be back soon with another post.

See you then.
