I'm Back

Image
Hello everyone! I know it's been two months since I last made a blog post. To be honest with you, I don't really know why it has taken me this long to write a blog post. England has been in lockdown after all so you'd think I'd have time to make a blog post. I guess I've been busy working on assignments while also trying not to get stressed over these assignments. I guess blogging just sort of took a backseat in my life because I was focusing on writing for these assignments, I couldn't focus on writing blog posts. I've come to learn I'm not the best at multitasking.  Another thing really is I wasn't really sure what to post about because nothing exciting has really happened these past two months. My day is even going into uni once a week for lectures or doing an online lecture or going to the library. When it's not related to uni, I'll be doing my weekly trip to the supermarket on my student budget to buy essentials or else be in my room eit...

How To Be Organised In University

Image
It is very easy when you're in university to procrastinate. You're living away from home and have nobody to tell you what to do so it can be very easy to say I'll do that assignment tomorrow. Well, I'm here to give you some tips on how to stop procrastinating and get organised for university. 1.Planner/Wall Calendar  One thing that really helped me in university was a wall calendar where I could see my entire academic year on one poster. Now it's scary to see it all there and makes you feel like there isn't a lot of time left but that's why it helped me so much. It made me see that I don't have a lot of time to do assignments so it kept me organised. It was also a reminder everyday I had assignments due. The same is with the planner which I honestly struggle to use properly. Sometimes I hardly checked it but if I had a wall calendar up in my room I could check it. I do have one of those pocket sized planners for this year in the hopes that I'll ...

Second Year

Image
I have basically finished with my second year at university. I've completed all my assignments, done my exam and I have no more lectures. It's crazy how quickly that has gone by. The reason why I've finished my second year of uni so early is because after Easter we have to do five weeks of work placement or in my case experiential learning which basically work placement but set in my university. It's just five weeks of doing work from nine to five everyday (except for weekends I think). It's like gaining experience for life after university which is relevant to the degree you're studying. Even though that is happening after Easter, I have no assignments or deadlines or exams to do. I do have to wait for the results of my assignments to see if I've passed or fail but I am pretty much finished. It's crazy how quickly university goes. One minute you're a carefree first year having the time of your life in uni. Next is when you're in second ...

Assignment Advice

Image
It feels like my life is like a never ending cycle of doing assignments for university. It's particular more noticeable as the deadlines get closer and the time to complete assignments are running out. I have completed all of my assignments now. I just need to read over and submit one more then that will be my second year over and done with. That's because I have this experiential learning in my university after Easter for five weeks which is like doing a work placement but it's set in university and basically it's just like doing a 9 to 5 job. Now as I have only one more assignment to submit and I've spent most of my time freaking out about all the assignments I've had to do, I thought I would share some advice with you guys on what I have learned. Let your housemates know you have assignments Honestly, my housemates have been so supportive as they also have assignments to do with similar deadlines to me so letting them know all my deadlines and assign...

Procrastination!

Image
Lately I've been procrastinating a lot and it really sucks. I've been procrastinating my life and things I want to do. It's like when I'm just sitting and watching a random YouTube video. I just think in the back of my mind 'I have this free time now, maybe I could do something productive like my assignments or maybe I should finally read the book I've been forgetting about for a while or maybe I should go shopping. Then I think of the words 'I'll do it later or I'll do it in an hour' and when the time comes, I'm still watching videos and I do eventually realise that I am wasting time and by the time I've realised this it's almost time to go to bed. This is a problem which I do have and I wish it would go away because I want to be so productive this year and make it the best year I possibly can for myself. Which is why I need to push myself a bit more and instead of saying 'I'll do it later' I will just go and do wh...

The Outcome Of The Resit

Image
I just thought I'd make a quick update for you as I made a post back in July about having to do a resit as I had failed one of my assignments. Let's just say I got it done within a month of the actual deadline and submitted it. It was a terrifying process of just waiting because I don't know how well I did or if I've even passed it. In university they give you a second and third chance to redo your assignment. I was nervous because I really wanted to go to second year and not feel like a complete failure if I had to redo the first year again. I suppose it happens sometimes and you have to just get through. Anyway, tonight I had my result back for my resit and it turns out I've passed it. Now I can move on to my second year of university. I'm so happy because I've been panicking and telling myself 'What ifs' if it came to the conclusion I failed it. Luckily though I've passed and I'm so happy. Although I am quite nervous about moving on to ...

How to have a productive day

Image
We all have days where we need to be productive and actually do some work. Whether it's school work, university assignments or revision. Now is mostly the time you need to be productive because it's nearing the end of the academic year where there are exams and final assignments to be done. So we all need to be productive. The best time to be productive is during the day not late at night. Here's some tips on how you can have a productive day. 1. Wake up early As much as we all love a lie in but this way you can have more time in the day to do your work. It doesn't have to be like 6am. 9am is fine as well. 2. Eat breakfast and check social media once, respond to emails. Do eat breakfast because it really does give you energy for the whole day. Do check social media to see if anything has happened and respond to emails if you have any. Then turn your phone off and put it on the other side of the room. Social media is the biggest reason people procrastinate. You ...

11 Tips on getting through a university assignment or essay

Image
As I've been in university for over six months now and I've done quite a few assignments and essays. I thought I'd give you guys some tips for getting through assignments and essays. I hope these tips can help some of you guys who go to university or college or even school. Let's get started. 1. Don't freak out! Stay calm This might be a little obvious but you'd be surprise many people freak out, including myself, when they get an assignment. Especially when it's like a 2000 word essay or just an assignment where as soon as you read it you just think 'How on earth am I going to be able to do that?' The worse thing you can do is panic about it. Just stay calm and read over the assignment a few times. Your teachers will probably give you advice and things you can look at to guide you through it. You may find that it was easier than you thought it would be. 2. Find a nice spot to do your work This can really help get you motivated. My biggest t...

Hiding From Assignments

Hey guys! So, I just wanted to talk about hiding from life. What I mean by this is basically getting away from things that stress you out like due dates for assignments, over thinking stuff that's going on. I know some things are important like assignments but it's not good to be stressed over them. Just give yourself little breaks and get away from it.  Don't hide in your bedroom or in your bed.  Go outside and go for a walk.  Do some laundry.  Put something else on your mind for a little bit to escape reality. And just take little steps to get it done. Just do a page of an essay a day. You'll get it done eventually. Just don't leave it until last minute. The biggest tip which I discovered only recently is talk to your lecturer. That is something I did not do for a while and I basically just kept over-thinking that I was going to fail one particular assignment. I wanted to drop out and I didn't want to become...

Trip to Chester

Hey guys! So today I took a little trip to Chester. I took the train there which was nice. I like travelling by the train because it's kind of relaxing and it kind of takes your mind off things and you don't have to worry about doing anything. Except of course when you have to switch trains or walk from one station to the other. I had to do that today. It was alright but very tiring. I've been doing a lot of walking around Chester and walking to the stations. Then I had to do a 15 minute walk to my uni home afterwards. The reason why I went to Chester is I had to do some research for one of my assignments and take pictures of an attraction in Chester. It was kind of fun. Anyway, after that I went for a walk round the shops. I went into Primark and bought some stuff but I'll show you that in my next post. Later on.  I also had a burger king which I haven't had in ages. That was good too. So yeah. That was my day. I'll be back so...
