Going For A Walk

Image
On Easter Sunday, I woke up early and instead of being lazy I decided to go for a walk. I got dressed and got in my car to drive to town. I knew it would be quiet as it was early Sunday morning so not many people would be out. It was lovely, I parked up in a pretty much empty car park and decided to walk on the promenade. It was so quiet and so nice. It was also so refreshing. I’ve been feeling a bit down recently but going on this walk, listening to music was honestly so good for my mood. It didn’t matter that I was on my own. I just walked, listening to my music and it felt so good. They say going for a walk improves your mental health and honestly it does. Especially when you put on your headphones and listen to your favourite songs. In a weird way you feel like you’re in a musical and I have to stop myself from bursting out singing. It was a lovely walk and I took a few pictures along the way.  There we have it, that was my long walk along the promenade. I love walking by the s...

Winter Self Care

Image
I don't know about you but for me January is a depressing month. The festive period is over. Everything has somewhat gone back to normal and the weather is cold and miserable. Especially if you live in the UK. Plus January just seems to go on forever and like it will never end. You definitely get the winter blues this month which is why I thought I'd share some things I do to give myself a little self care but also make me feel better when I have those moments of winter blues. Let's get started. Make a playlist of all your favourite songs I don't know about you but to me music really does impact my mood. Sometimes I hear my favourite songs and I can't help but sing along or just have a bop to them. Create a playlist of all your favourite songs so that if you're feeling low, just have a listen and soon you'll make yourself feel better through the power of music. Get up and go somewhere Whether that's down the street, going to get a coffee, meeting up with...

McFly

Image
Something amazing happened to me last Thursday. I got to see McFly in Manchester. Not only was it in my favourite city in the world but I have loved this band for twenty years. I remember when I was seven years old, there was this show on television where artists were competing for the top spot. Busted was on it but this band I'd never heard of called McFly who performed they're debut single, Five Colours In Her Hair. I remember falling in love with the lead singer Danny and my life had changed forever. I remember buying my first ever album which was Room On The Third Floor and listening to it. Although confession time, I only listened to the first four songs of the Album on repeat because I used to listen to the same things on repeat especially if you have a CD with only a certain number of songs. Little did I know the following year my favourite album of all time would be released which was Wonderland. This was my favourite album and I got gifted this plus the McFly Wonderlan...

Day 28 Music

Image
Today's photo of the day is music. As you're aware if you've been reading my recent posts, I went to the Big Tribute Festival in Aberystwyth over the weekend. I'd highly recommend it because they have so many tribute artists performing as well as local artists playing in between the bigger acts. It's great. I thoroughly enjoyed it and have been going to this festival for the past ten years. I love it. In terms of music, I'm not a huge music fan as my taste is pretty random. I like mainly noughties songs and musicals so some of the artists I had heard of but I'd never known their songs. Majority of the songs I know were songs that were on Glee. I know that's a sad millennial response but my music knowledge and songs became wider from watching Glee. I can hear a song and be like, oh that was on Glee. To be fair though, I don't often search for new songs as I prefer to stick to what I know and love. I do feel like music does affect your mood and there a...

Day 27 Camping

Image
Today’s photo of the day is camping. I put this as a theme for a reason because I knew this bank holiday weekend I’d be camping for the Big Tribute Festival in Aberystwyth which I’ve been going to for the past 10 years. It’s great because you can camp all weekend and see lots of different tribute acts. Majority of them sound and look like the real thing. It’s great and they sing all their popular songs. Camping at a festival was great though and I highly recommend getting a tent that you can stand in because it makes so much difference to your camping experience. Plus it’s a tent you can take on any camping trip not just a festival but we’ve only ever used it for the festival but I would like to one day go camping with it at least once for something other than the festival.  Anyway, I’m lucky to have a day off today to recover from the bank holiday weekend and then it’s back to work for me tomorrow which I’m excited for as it’s a new job and I’m learning so much so far.  That’...

Day 12 TV

Image
This is day twelves photo which is my tv. I actually got this tv because I used to have a small television and there was a spare television at my Grandad’s house that nobody was using so I traded my old tv in and took that one. I was quite impressed because there was nothing wrong with the television and it had a hdmi slot so it was perfect. I’ve had it now for over four years and it has caused me no trouble. It’s the perfect size for my bedroom. I’ve been watching episodes of I’m In The Band which was a show I watched when I was a teenager on Disney XD and thought it was the best show. It still holds up today as it has the humour of slapstick and there are some great lines. I love the characters of Ash, Derek and Burger. Tripp is good and it wouldn’t be the same but I can tell his humour is directed at the teenage audience which I no longer relate to sadly. Although I’m not even sure today's teenagers would relate because the world is a very different place. There were no tablets,...

15 Things Nobody Knows About Me

Image
For today's post, I thought I'd share fifteen things nobody knows about me. To be fair some things, my close family and friends know but not everything. I thought this would be a fun way to get to know me, kind of post especially if you've recently come across my blog and want to get to know me a little bit more.  Let's get started. 1. I'm a Libra  2. My favourite food is noodles 3. I've never watched Star Wars (and I don't think I ever will) 4. I've passed my driving test, but I don't have a car 5. I don't like wine. I've never found it appealing. Rum is always my go to alcoholic beverage. 6. I love listening to old school music, musicals and film soundtracks. It's rare that I listen to current songs. 7. When I was sixteen, I broke my humerus bone by walking backwards with my baby brother and falling down with my arm landing on the baby safety gate. Don't ask how or why. My brother was fine but my humerus needed a pin in it and it to...

My Top Five Playlist

Image
Music always has a way of affecting our mood. There is a song for every mood which is always perfect because sometimes the lyrics speak to you on how you're feeling. I thought I'd share my top five songs that I've been loving at the moment. It's a pretty random selection but they're just songs I can't skip whenever they appear in my playlist. Let's get started. 1. Thunderbirds Are Go - Busted A classic in my opinion and just brings me back to my childhood where this song was at every school disco. I love it because it just makes me feel like I want to go out in the world and kick some ass. Honestly, I love a lot of Busted songs and this one is definitely my favourite that I've been loving recently. 2. I Want It That Way - Backstreet Boys Who doesn't love this song? It's just so iconic and honestly I love it. You can't help but sing along as you hear it. I've been doing this thing where I imagine if I ever get married, what songs will I ha...

My Top Five Songs At The Moment

Image
We all have songs that we can't help but listen to as they bring us so much joy or we can relate to them so much. I thought I'd share my top five favourite songs at the moment that I honestly can't help but listen to every time on my playlist. All You Wanna Do - Six The Musical Honestly, I relate so much to this song so much because it reminds me of pretty much all my exes. In the beginning of my dating journey I was a little naive shall we say where I thought everyone was in it to actually date a person. I then learned after a while that a lot of people were in it for just a bit of fun which kind of sucks and this song is essentially about that where Catherine Howard slowly realising the men's true intentions with and it's actually quite a sad song because you can feel her pain the further into the song we get. Honestly I've been there and I've now learned I'm never letting any man treat me as just a bit of fun. This is a power ballad for anyone that ha...

Favourite Things About Xmas

Image
I honestly love the festive season and all the things that surround it. I thought I'd share all my favourite things about Xmas.  Let's get started. The Decorations It's just so nice to be able to decorate your home with festive decorations because it just feels so cosy. Especially at night when you can turn on the lights on the tree and around the house and even more so when it gets dark around 5pm it's just so nice. It always makes me feel so warm and fuzzy in the evenings. It's just nice to see the decorations around the house and it gets you really excited for Christmas.  Opening Presents Call me a big kid at heart but I actually love the present opening because I'm always curious at what people get for me and I just like opening presents. I only do it twice a year so it's nice to have an opportunity to do it. I know it may seem a bit big headed and selfish of me but I like opening my presents on Xmas day. I'm sure many of you feel the same way.  Chri...

Planning For Xmas

Image
I honestly love this time of year with the food, music, movies and buying loved ones gifts. It truly is a wonderful time of year.  This month is actually very exciting for me because this weekend we're off to Manchester to go to the Christmas markets which I absolutely love because the hot chocolate is just perfect. It's also one of my favourite cities so it's a nice chance to do some extra Christmas shopping plus just spend some time with family. Although this year is just as exciting because we're not going to Manchester once this month. We're actually going twice this year we're actually spending Christmas at my brother's house in Manchester which I'm very excited about because it's something different, I don't have to worry about cooking. It's also nice to spend it with other people as last year it was just me and my mum so this year will be nice and we'll probably play games, have drinks and laugh. It'll be great.  I've alrea...

Favourite Xmas Songs

Image
It's that time of the year where all the shops and radio stations are filled with non stop Christmas music. I know it can be annoying for some people but I quite enjoy it as it gets me in the mood for Christmas and everything is so jolly. That's why I thought I'd share my favourite Xmas songs with you as these are the songs I listen to the most during this time of the year.  When Christmas Comes To Town - The Polar Express I love this song as it's just a feel good song. It has beautiful singing and it reminds us why Christmas is such a wonderful time of the year. I find myself repeating this song a lot during the month of December because it feels so good.  Where Are You Christmas - Faith Hill Another beautiful song from one of my favourite Christmas films. It's just a great song especially as you get older, Christmas is not the same as it once was and you sometimes wonder if you'll get into the Christmas spirit. It's just a beautiful ballad song that is sun...

My Feel-Good Songs

Image
Music is such a powerful thing because there is a song for almost every mood. Sometimes the lyrics relate to how you're feeling or the song just puts you in a better mood than you were. I thought I'd share my top five feel-good songs that always put me in a better mood. 1. I'll Be Okay by McFly One of my favourite albums of all time is Wonderland by McFly. I can listen to all their songs on repeat as most of them are my favourite McFly songs. However, I'll Be Okay is one of those songs that really puts me in a better mood because it just shows that even when life gets you down at the end of the day, you're going to be okay. It's just such a good bop and I love it when I hear it. From the guitar intro to the lyrics to the chorus just making you want to dance. It is definitely a song that makes me feel good everytime I hear it.  2. Your Song by Ewan McGregor, Moulin Rouge Now I know this is an Elton John song and he of course sings it very well. However, when I wa...

How To Feel Positive When You're Feeling Low

Image
Some days you just can't be bothered to do anything. It's not because you're lazy, it's because you lack the motivation to do it and that's okay. You're feeling low. It happens. Unfortunately, life goes on. As much as we want to curl up in a ball under the covers, we can't as we have work to do.  So, how do we make ourselves feel positive when we're feeling low? I have a few tips that might help you with that. 1. Listen to your favourite songs Music in my opinion always affects your mood and having a dedicated playlist filled with all your favourite songs is the perfect cure for you and really lifts your mood no matter how low you're feeling. Trust me, as I'm writing this post I'm listening to my favourite songs on my playlist and it just makes me want to sing along. When I listen to music, I sometimes imagine different scenarios in my head whether it's being on stage in front of an audience or in a huge concert arena. In a weird way it j...

Music has a way of changing your mood. There is a song for every mood. Now I don't have a particular favourite genre of music and I don't really keep up to date with the latest hits. However, I do have some favourite songs that always put me in a good mood, so I thought I'd share a list of all my favourite songs. Day In My Life

Image
I thought today I would do a Day In My Life post but I thought I would do something a little bit different. I thought instead of taking photos of every single thing I did that day, I would just use 10 photos. I was inspired to do this by a post I saw on Pinterest. It just gives a little glimpse of my day and as my days are not very exciting so I thought this would be a fun idea. So here is a day in my life through 10 photos. I can't start my day without coffee. I'm sure the amount of times I mention coffee on this blog, you will realise I am a bit of a coffee addict. I have tried going a week without coffee and it was horrible so I gotta have my morning coffee.  On this day I decided to do a bit of work for my future. You may or may not be aware but I've been accepted to do a masters degree in Manchester this September so I thought I'd get some research done on it just so I'm prepared for what's to come. I bought a box of five Cadbury Creme Eggs ...
