Not Perfect

Image
I’m not perfect and one of the reasons why is I missed a day or two of posting. Not going to lie, I was slightly busy with work that I completely forgot to check everything was on track and I forgot to schedule one or two posts. It will happen where I may miss a day or two but I will make it up to you with even more posts as my goal is 30 posts this month at least so maybe when I miss a day, you may get double posts on some days.  Either way, I hope you can forgive me if you were checking back on my blog for a new post these past couple of days and nothing was there. Life got so busy that I forgot to update my blog. Luckily I have posted all the posts now so that we’re back on track for 30 posts this month and yes I’m including this post as it is still a blog post. It’s not a perfect blog post but as I mentioned before I’m not perfect. It still counts as I’m giving you an update on the lack of posts but I’m also letting you know that everything will soon be back on track again from...

How To Keep Motivated In August

Image
Summer is a time where the weather's warming and it can be a struggle to keep motivated to be productive, especially when the sun's out and all you want to do is be outside. I've been struggling with motivation as I'm trying to keep posting when I can and next month I'm planning on posting everyday for you all. It's a struggle to find motivation but I thought I'd help by sharing some of my tips to help you keep motivated in August.  Let's get started. 1. Keeping your space tidy I don't know about you but I cannot stand it when I'm trying to be productive and my surroundings are cluttered or messy. Before I do any kind of work or writing, I need to clear my space so I will have a quick tidy up, put clutter away and just make sure my working space is clear. Tidying is also doing something productive so technically you're being extra productive by tidying. I also find after tidying up that I always want to do something productive. For example, I...

Favourite Ficitional Characters

Image
Yesterday's post got me thinking about who my favourite fictional characters are. We all have fictional characters that bring us joy or make us even more curious when we read about them or see them in action. In fact it makes us wish there were whole stories about these characters. I thought I'd share five of my favourite fictional characters. I will warn you that three of them come from a particular fandom but I have my reasons. Anyway, let's get started. Hermione Granger The cleverest witch of her age. Honestly, Hermione is the greatest character in the Harry Potter series for many different reasons. One she is muggle born so she learned everything from scratch with no magical history. She's also key to helping the golden trio in every single book. Harry and Ron would be lost without Hermione. Even in the first book and getting past all the Philosopher's Stone protections, particularly the devil snare and the potion riddle. Then of course she helped Harry and Ron ...

Feeling Lost

Image
Do you ever feel like things aren't going the way you planned? Like just for a moment you'd thought you'd sort your life out then everything changed and it's almost like you're back to square one. You're not sure what direction to turn and you don't really know where to go next. I've been feeling like that at the moment. I feel like my life is a bit up in the air. It was great last year because I had a new job and a boyfriend I could focus on but now as a single lady with no idea what my next step in life is. I feel lost. I think this a normal feeling especially because I'm twenty seven and it does feel like I'm falling behind in life with most people my age getting engaged, married, having babies or living on their own. I'm far from all those things. I've been to university twice and it feels like I have nothing to show for it. I'm definitely living in a place with a lack of opportunity to find a job with my degree. Yet the thought o...

Creative Motivation

Image
Sometimes in life you have to use your creativity. Even now I have to use my creativity to write a month of blog posts. We all use creativity in some aspects of our life whether it's writing, working on a project, making art or even cooking a meal. We have these moments where creativity is needed, but how do we keep that creative motivation alive? Well, I'm here to help you with five tips on how to motivate yourself to be creative. 1. Enjoyment Honestly, if you love being creative on a daily or weekly basis then you're already one step ahead. Having passion and enjoyment in your creative projects can really help to boost that motivation. Sometimes all we need is a little joy in life to get us motivated and if you enjoy being creative then you won't have any trouble finding that creative motivation.  2. Work on your creativity for an hour Spending an hour of your day on a creative activity can really inspire you to be creative. Whether it's doing some writing on a st...

Why I Started Blogging

Image
Ten years ago tomorrow was the day seventeen year old me decided to start my blog and publish my first post. One of the burning questions that many bloggers get is why did they start their blog? What inspired me to create my blog Megan Time ten years ago? Well, grab a drink and a snack because I'm about to tell you the story of my little blog.  History Lesson I'm going to take you back to May 2014. I was a seventeen year old in my first year of doing my A Levels and essentially in my penultimate year of school. Something that I really enjoyed doing in my spare time was watching YouTube. I think 2014 for most of us was the era where YouTube really kicked off. I watched a lot of British YouTubers like Dan & Phil and Zoella as well as some others. Now I kind of got a creative bug. I wanted to start my own thing and believe or not, I had dabbled in blogging before but nothing really concrete. I can remember I was trying to do a magazine/advice kind of blog but honestly, I don...

How To Plan Blog Posts

Image
You've got a blog and now all you need is some posts. Here's how to plan your posts.  Get a dedicated planner or notebook for your blog This really helps to keep things organised by having a dedicated planner or a notebook for your blog. You can write down your post ideas, plans for what you're going to post and just keep track of everything. I got a notebook from Poundland and it really helps me out because it's something I've always used for my blog to have a dedicated notebook. This is one of my most important tools when it comes to planning my blog posts so I highly recommend it.  Work out your posts for the month Something that really helps is making sure you're a month ahead. It's good to work out what posts you want to post for the month. For me, I already know two guaranteed posts for the month as I do it for every month and that's a chapter post at the beginning of the month then a favourites post at the end of the month. I then put into conside...

Blog Post Ideas

Image
Sometimes one of the hardest things about blogging is to know what to write about. You could be racking through your brain for a while for an idea or searching the internet for inspiration. That's why I thought it would be a good idea to share with you five blog post ideas that you can use throughout the year and also they give you enough to adapt them and make them fully your own.  Without further ado let's get started. 1. Routine Post Honestly, it's an oldie but a goodie. Doing a routine post gives the reader a little insight into the person behind the blog by sharing a part of your routine. The beauty is the routine could be anything from morning, evening, makeup, skincare, reading, travel etc. It's one idea that could expand into multiple ideas plus they're normally pretty straightforward to come up with as all you have to do is take pictures of your routine and then write up what you're doing. Routine posts are always popular ones and you can make them pers...

How I Manage My Blog

Image
As someone who has been blogging for nearly ten years, I have to say at times it's not been easy. Coming into 2024 though, I've taken my blog a bit more seriously than previously and I've learned a few things along the way to running my blog smoothly. I thought I'd share the ways in which I manage my blog to help any of you reading this who might be thinking of starting their own blog in 2024 or you're a fellow blogger who's looking for some helpful tips. Eitherway, I hope you can take something from this post. Now, let's get started. 1. Having a blogging notebook I have to say, I'm pretty old school and one of the things I like to have on hand with me is my notebook that is dedicated to my blog. It's just a pink notebook I picked up from Poundland but I love it as I'm using it for my 2024 blogging journey. Sometimes ideas for posts can just come out of nowhere and I always like to write it down. Plus I prefer writing things physically down first...

Motivation

Image
After posting for the entire month of December, it was a wonder I still had motivation but I realised that with a bit of determination you can really put your mind to things if you put in the effort. Honestly, the secret to being motivated is effort. If you really want to do something then you have to put in the effort for it. If you read my previous post, you know that one of my new year resolutions is to publish 150 blog posts in 2024 and in order to know that then I need to put in the work. I don't have an awful lot of legroom to take blogging breaks this year as I did last year and of course that means I have to put in the effort to keep motivated. Now you may be wondering how I do it. Honestly, I use the simple art of self motivation. I tell myself, I need to and when I have a bit of free time in my day. Whether that's in the morning before work or after work, I take some time to write a post. Even if I just spend an hour writing up a couple of posts. It really helps me ou...

My Blogging Routine

Image
As someone who has been blogging for nine years, I've learned a thing or two about what works for me when it comes to sitting down and writing a post. That's why I thought I'd share my blogging routine with you that may inspire you to work on your own blog and get that routine.  Let's get started.  I feel like the one thing that motivates me to do some writing is a mug of coffee by my side. Coffee just makes me feel productive and I swear my body is made up mainly of coffee. It's fair to say I may have a slight coffee addiction. Either way it's something that puts me in the mood to blog.  Next, I will get my laptop and keyboard set up on my desk. I like to prop my laptop up on a stand so the screen is more to my eye level rather than me looking down all the time. I also like my desk to be quite minimal and simple as if it's too cluttered then it will distract me from what I want to do.  I have to have my trusted notebook beside me. This notebook is actually ...

How Do I Plan My Blog Posts

Image
As I've been posting every day in May, it may surprise that most of these posts were written in March and April which is because I was way ahead in schedule. In the beginning of this month I gave you a list of my blogging tips, but I thought now that we are halfway through this month that I would share with you how I plan my blog posts and keep ahead of schedule. 1. Trusted Notebook I'm very old school and always like to have a physical notebook dedicated to my blog. I used to prefer A5 notebooks, but I've grown to love an A4 notebook. In this notebook, I keep a list of all the blogs posts I've made so far. Also as you can see, I pre planned all the posts I was going to make for May and writing them down in order. I highlighted all the ones I currently completed just to stay on track on what posts have been completed. This helped me out so I could easily refer back to it on what posts I need to write up. I also use this notebook to actually write posts down because some...

You Can Do It

Image
This is just a little Saturday blog post to remind you that you can do it.  Whatever it is that you don't think you can do, you can do it.  That piece of assignment you're struggling with, you can do it.  The awkward end of relationship talks with that toxic person in your life, you can do it.  Exercising, you can do it.  That holiday you're unsure of going on, you can do it.  Spring cleaning the house, you can do it.  Going to work, you can do it.  Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone, you can do it.  Whatever it is that's bothering you then you can do it.  Even if it takes a random blog on the internet to inspire, well here I am to say you can do it.  Nothing is impossible really and the thing you may be dreading isn't as bad as you think it might be so just go for it.  Because at the end of the day.  You can do it.  Thank you for reading my blog and I'll be back soon with another post.  See you then....

She Believed She Could So She Did

Image
On this day in Wales, it was particularly rainy day and my guess almost the last few fragments of Storm Eunice and the beginning of Storm Franklin. The weather is bleak and miserable outside which meant it was the perfect time to read a book. I find the sound of the wind and rain almost relaxing especially when you're inside and the perfect background noise to a good book.  I was shopping yesterday and went into Waterstones. I was looking for a book for ages and thought maybe I can't find one. Then I saw this colourful pretty book with one of my favourite quotes on the front.  'She Believed She Could So She Did' I knew right there I had to pick it up and have a look at it.  It's a modern woman's guide to life and it's by Sam Lacey. I had a flick through and a read of the back. I thought why not and as it is my determination to always buy a book when I'm in a bookstore was when I bought it.  I started having a read of it in the car and I was hooked. It st...

Five Years

Image
This day is kind of special for me as on this day five years ago I created my first blog post. It doesn't feel like it has been five years and yet here we are. I started this little blog back in 2014 thinking it'll be something fun to do. I like to think I've improved since then but I know I make the odd mistake here and there from time to time. One thing I didn't think would ever happen is my blog would be viewed over 24,000 times. That's a lot of people. I also find it interesting when I look at my audience stats and see that people are viewing my blog not just from the UK but from the USA, Russia, Germany, France, Ukraine and so many more places. That is a little crazy to me that people from all over the world are taking a moment to view my blog. It means a lot to me because I do love to blog and a part of me wishes this was a full time job but unfortunately it's not. However, I do try my best to post regularly but if you've been reading my blo...

Bloggers Block

Image
Most creative people usually get a block where they struggle with ideas or they feel their ideas aren't good enough. I get this when it comes to my blog. Sometimes I feel like I have no idea what to post. Yet I want to post something because I feel I need to keep my blog updated. However, it can be a struggle especially when you inevitably get that blogger's block where you struggle to even think of an idea. I'm here to help you though and give you suggestions on how to combat the blogger's block. Hopefully this can be used in other creative aspects and not just for bloggers. Think of it as a way of finding motivation and inspiration to be creative. So let's get started! 1. Do you still enjoy it? I suppose you may have to sit back and think do you actually enjoy what you do. Does it bring you joy. If it does then that's a good sign because it means you've not given up yet. Yet if it doesn't bring you joy then don't put so much pressur...

Last Day of April

Image
Here we are, the final day of April. I managed to post everyday in April aside from four days. It was bound to happen. When you post everyday for a month on your blog, it is kind of difficult to come up with 30 posts and make them all interesting. I did have a couple of short posts on some days but at the end of the day a post is a post no matter how long or short it is. I do recommend to any fellow bloggers out there to give it a try and post everyday for an entire month. It definitely motivates you to blog more and I am more inspired to post regularly on this blog. Be sure to stick around this space as I will be posting more regularly and who knows maybe I do a week of posts. You never know. For now though, I want to thank anyone who has read my blog for this entire month or just anyone who has even read my blog. It means a lot that someone has taken the time out to check out my little space of the internet. I hope you have a lovely day and I'll be back again soon wi...

My Top Five Christmas Songs

Image
As it's December, you're allowed to blast any Christmas song you like on repeat throughout the entire 25 days leading up to Christmas. I thought I'd share my top favourite five Christmas songs with you guys. Let's do this! 1. Do They Know It's Christmas Time? - Band Aid 1984 I just love this song It's an absolute classic and every time I hear the first few seconds start playing I get all excited. I always can't help but sing along because it's such a great Christmas song. I love it and also it always reminds me of Gavin and Stacey's Christmas special where Smithy and Gavin sing it. It cracks me up every time and that's why it's one of my favourites. 2. When Christmas Comes To Town - The Polar Express When I watched The Polar Express I loved this song. It's such a sweet and calming song. I feel like it's such an underrated Christmas song because nobody really talks about it and I don't know why. It just makes me happy ...
