Day In My Life (Travel Edition)

Image
I thought I’d share a photo journal of a day in my life but it’s a little bit different as I was travelling to Manchester on this day. Let’s get started: My day starts like any other, just waking up in my bed. The first thing I always do is make myself coffee because I can't function in the mornings without it. I decided to have a shower because I like to freshen up before travelling anywhere.  After I use VO5 Heat Protectant on my hair before drying my hair with my Tresemme hairdryer.  While I’m getting ready I decided to watch one of my favourite movies which is The Intern. To me it’s such a comfort movie and always brings me joy when I watch it. I just love it. I did my makeup after I dried my hair and decided to go wild and go for a blue eyeshadow. Sometimes I love trying different colours for my eyeshadow because we all need a little colour in our lives. I then make sure I have everything in my suitcase and also pack my makeup bag in it. Finally once I’m ready, it’s time ...

August

Image
Time for the eighth month of the year and the height of summer. Yet I still have to work. Although unexpectedly I have a couple of trips lined up. Today as you're reading this I'm currently heading up to Manchester for a weekend away to visit my brother but also to do some shopping as pay day was yesterday. I'm also excited to go to Primark which is one of my favourite shops and it's a treat to go there when I can. Especially in Manchester because I'm so familiar with the layout, I know exactly where I am. The following weekend I'm actually going down to Bristol to visit my dad's family who I haven't seen in a couple of months plus I get to enjoy a bit of time off work which is always the best feeling.  Recently it feels like I've been living out of a suitcase or an overnight bag because last weekend I had two sleepovers, one at my best friend's house and the other at a man's house who I've been seeing for a while now. I'm not going t...

Caravan Holiday Packing

Image
On Monday I'm going on a caravan holiday at Haven Holiday Park in South Wales. I'm so excited because I haven't been on a caravan holiday for several years now. It's exciting and different to a regular holiday but I just find it so cool. It's a home away from home where you're self catering but you have all the amenities at your fingertips plus a fully fledged kitchen and bathroom, living room and bedrooms. It's great. I thought I would share some packing tips and what I plan to take as I'm going away for five days. I'm hoping this post is useful to any of you going on a caravan holiday or if you're just going on holiday and are struggling with the packing, this might be helpful to you. Let's get started.  1. Plan outfits The one thing I've always struggled with when it comes to packing is clothes because I used to be the person that would pack things just in case. Another thing I'd do is throw random tops or trousers in my suitcase a...

Travel Tips

Image
I'm going on holiday to Majorca on Wednesday which I'm so excited about as I always love going on holiday. I'm a weirdo that even gets excited when I go to the airport. It's just that whole excitement before you travel. I thought I'd share some travel tips that have really helped me to make my whole travelling and holiday experience as relaxing as possible. Let's get started. 1. Organise all your travel documents I'm not just talking about making sure you've printed off your boarding pass. I'm talking about checking your passport. Is it in date? There's always new travel rules so do your research before you travel. Make sure you have your insurance sorted. Find out if you need visas. Make sure you keep your travel documents in one place in either an organiser or a little folder.  2. Make a packing list This is something that has always helped when travelling is making a list of everything I need and I'm talking about everything. This way when...

May

Here we are, the fifth month of the year and we’re flying through this year already. I’m very excited because at the end of this month I’m on holiday in Majorca with my family. It’s very exciting because I always love going away on holiday. There’s also two bank holidays this month which is even more exciting.  Other than that I don’t really have a lot planned for this month. I’ve got family staying this weekend. I’m hoping to work on my novel this month as I haven’t really had much of a chance recently. It feels like I’ve been so busy with work and I haven’t really had much time for myself. That’s all going to change this month. This month is a new month, new me. I’m feeling positive about this month as I’ve had a few meh months these past couple of months but now it’s onwards and upwards.  Looking forward to it all. Let me know if you have anything exciting for this month. I’d love to hear it. Thank you for taking the time to view my blog and I’ll be back soon with another p...

I Have A Dream

Image
Now that I finally got my car, I want to do a bit more travelling. I would love to explore different parts of the UK. I felt quite inspired the other day after watching Mamma Mia Here We Go. I like how Donna just went off on her own and did her own thing. She didn't have a plan, she just knew where she wanted to go and figured it out when she got there. She even found love and ended up making a whole life for herself.  One day, I would love to take a trip on my own. Go abroad somewhere. A dream I do have, it might be a silly dream but it's my dream. I would love to take a trip to Paris. It's a city I've always wanted to visit. I would love to go on the Eurostar and stay in a hotel. Then as cheesy as it sounds, I'd want to do all the tourist things. Go up the Eiffel Tower and see attractions like Notre Dame, Arc De Triomphe, the Louvre. Even go on a bus tour around the city. I feel like Paris is one of those cities you could travel and explore on your own. It's d...

Catch Up

Image
I feel like it's been a while since I picked up my laptop and made a post. November just feels like it only began yesterday but already it's the 20th November and this is my second post in November. It's definitely been a chilled out month but I know I've got a busy few weeks coming up. I'm actually travelling down south tomorrow to visit family which I'm excited about as I haven't seen them in so long. Then the travelling doesn't stop because I'm going away the weekend after to Liverpool and Manchester which I'm excited about. I'm also looking forward to visiting the Christmas markets and getting in the festive mood. I've already completed my Christmas shopping which is nice. I feel like I've gotten some really good gifts this year and actually put a lot of thought into them which is a nice feeling. I'm definitely going to have a Christmas movie marathon and go all out with hot chocolate, festive treats and lots of good movies. I...

Day 18 On The Road

Image
For today's photo of the day it's on the road. During the Summer months, you may find yourself on the road quite often whether it's going on a road trip, travelling to the airport or going away for a staycation. On this particular road trip, we were travelling back from Llandudno and honestly I love living in Wales because look how beautiful the valley is that this photo doesn't do it any justice. There's so many beautiful valleys and mountains, I believe this was near Snowdonia but don't quote me on that because I'm not sure at what point I took this photo. I just saw it and knew it had to be on my photo challenge as it's on the road but it also has a beautiful view to it. Wales is a beautiful country because there's a lot of countryside and often miles to the next town. I know South and North Wales might be slightly different but travelling through Mid Wales has a lot of beautiful nature to it. You have these stunning valleys and mountain sides plu...

Day 15 Suitcase

Image
For day fifteen's photo is a suitcase and this is mine. I bought this suitcase recently as I needed a new suitcase. I got this one from Matalan and you don't realise how much you need a new suitcase until you use the new one and it goes a lot smoother than your old one. That's the problem I have with suitcases is that the wheels eventually break but the actual suitcase is fine. Although I did discover from a google search that you can buy replacement wheels, I haven't tried that yet. My old one didn't just have broken wheels but the inside was getting tatty. Now I just use my old one as under bed storage.  I've used this suitcase twice for two trips, one to Llandudno and the other to Manchester. I made a lot of good use of it and I'm sure I'm going to use it again and again soon. Honestly, I spent £40 on this suitcase and I would recommend spending money on good quality luggage. I know £40 is a lot of money but it's worth it if you have a suitcase th...

Day 14 Fridge

Image
This is kind of a random photo theme but I felt like it. This is day fourteen which is a fridge. I decided to show the outside of my fridge because the inside is not very interesting. As you can see we have a lot of magnets which I love because they’re like memories of different places we’ve been to over the years. Some of these magnets are even from when I was a child. Who knew a magnet could be a fire memory? Suddenly you’re taken back to the place and all the memories come back. I also just noticed in the top left corner the Dublin magnet is upside down for some reason. The most recent magnet on there is the one next to the Dublin one and that’s the Manchester magnet. We realised that we never got a Manchester even though we’ve been there so many times and I even lived there at one point. The closest we got was a Coronation Street magnet from when we did the Corrie tour but never an actual Manchester one.  Magnets are cool and I hope when I have my own place to build my own coll...

Day 6 Boarding Pass

Image
The sixth photo of my photo challenge is a boarding pass. This is actually a boarding pass from over ten years ago and I'm pretty sure it's the last physical cardboard one I've had. It was when I went to New York with my mum back in 2014. We only went for four days but it was incredible. It was the first time I'd been on a plane and had an actual screen to watch what I wanted. The flight itself was long but the city of New York was stunning. We managed to cram so much in the four days from the Empire State Building, going on a bus tour, Central Park, Time Square and seeing a Broadway show. Honestly it was a memorable trip and I would love to go back there one day.  I miss the physical boarding passes because it was essentially a hard copy proof that you were meant to be on a plane. The e-tickets, while handy as they're just on your phone, are sometimes unreliable because what if your phone battery dies and you have no other way to prove you're supposed to be tra...

Day 1 Passport

Image
The first photo of my August Photo Challenge is Passport so this is my passport. I had to get a new passport recently as I went to Dublin in March and they said my passport expired in July 2024 even though the expiry date was April 2025. Apparently there's a new Brexit rule where passports are only valid for ten years so check to see when your passport was issued and if it's more than ten years then you most likely need a new passport. It's such a silly rule because everything goes by expiry dates so why not passports. Luckily when I reordered my passport it only took a week to process, I didn't even pay extra. I just put my old passport in an envelope and posted it in the post box. It got back to them fine and got back to me fine as well.  I think I prefer the old burgundy coloured passports because they were such a classic colour. Now these passports just look like every other country's passport. I think every country should have a unique coloured passport and I k...

Cardiff Photo Journal

Image
This bank holiday weekend I took a trip to Cardiff with my mum. It was quite nice because I had a day off on Friday so we left on Friday and returned yesterday. I thought I'd share a photo journal of my trip to Cardiff. Let's get started! The train journey was pretty straightforward as we only had to change once and we got very lucky to get seats on both trains we were on. I used the opportunity to listen to music on my MP3 player so I could save my phone battery. I also had a chance to read my current book which is The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella. I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far. When we got to Cardiff, we had some lunch in the Slug & Lettuce where I had some nachos. They were very tasty but I would have preferred to have salsa on it. We then made our way to our hotel which was the Holiday Inn in Cardiff Bay. We then went out to explore Cardiff Bay and we decided to go on the Ferris Wheel which was really good until it stopped right at the top and reminded ...
