Not Perfect

Image
I’m not perfect and one of the reasons why is I missed a day or two of posting. Not going to lie, I was slightly busy with work that I completely forgot to check everything was on track and I forgot to schedule one or two posts. It will happen where I may miss a day or two but I will make it up to you with even more posts as my goal is 30 posts this month at least so maybe when I miss a day, you may get double posts on some days.  Either way, I hope you can forgive me if you were checking back on my blog for a new post these past couple of days and nothing was there. Life got so busy that I forgot to update my blog. Luckily I have posted all the posts now so that we’re back on track for 30 posts this month and yes I’m including this post as it is still a blog post. It’s not a perfect blog post but as I mentioned before I’m not perfect. It still counts as I’m giving you an update on the lack of posts but I’m also letting you know that everything will soon be back on track again from...

May

Here we are, the fifth month of the year and we’re flying through this year already. I’m very excited because at the end of this month I’m on holiday in Majorca with my family. It’s very exciting because I always love going away on holiday. There’s also two bank holidays this month which is even more exciting.  Other than that I don’t really have a lot planned for this month. I’ve got family staying this weekend. I’m hoping to work on my novel this month as I haven’t really had much of a chance recently. It feels like I’ve been so busy with work and I haven’t really had much time for myself. That’s all going to change this month. This month is a new month, new me. I’m feeling positive about this month as I’ve had a few meh months these past couple of months but now it’s onwards and upwards.  Looking forward to it all. Let me know if you have anything exciting for this month. I’d love to hear it. Thank you for taking the time to view my blog and I’ll be back soon with another p...

How To Beat Creative Block

Image
Sometimes we have days where we're not inspired to do anything or motivated. It can be harder when you're trying to be creative and no ideas are coming to mind. I've struggled with a creative block in the past especially when it comes to blogging because you do have days where you have no idea what to post. I thought I'd share some tips on how to get out of the creative block and hopefully this will help you to get creative ideas on days when you're feeling uninspired. Let's get started. 1. Go Outside This one is pretty straightforward but sometimes inspiration can come from actually living. Getting out of the house can cause you to be inspired by anything and everything. Did you visit a nice cafe today? Why not leave a review? Eavesdropped on a conversation? Make a story out of it.Pretend like you're going on a retreat and your main goal is to get a list of ideas. Sometimes ideas can come from the most unlikely of places so sometimes getting out of the hous...

Why You Should Start A Blog In 2025?

Image
Hello, my name is Megan and I'm twenty eight years old. I've been blogging for ten years now and I honestly love it. It allows me to be creative, write what I want and also manage my own website. Of course, I've made a few mistakes along the way but overall I'm proud of every post I've made. My blog has grown to over 160,000 page views in that time which is a number I never thought it would reach but here we are.  Now onto the question of this post, why should you start a blog in 2025? Let's break it down. Allows you to be creative If you find yourself feeling like you don't have a creative outlet in life or want to be a writer but don't know where or what to write. Starting a blog can be a useful tool to have for many reasons. It allows you to work on your writing skills. Imagine if you were a character on The Sims and you have that bar on top of your head growing with the writing skills, that's what writing on your blog is like. The more you do it ...

Thank You

Image
I just wanted to take this moment to say thank you so much to anyone that has taken the time to view and read my blog this year. It means so much to me and I can't quite believe how far this blog has come.  Last May was rather special for me because it was the tenth anniversary of this blog. A milestone that I didn't think I'd ever reach. Especially through all the Blogger's blocks and gaps in Blogging I've done in the past. I was seventeen years old studying my A Levels when I first started the blog.  If you told seventeen year old me that this year I would have had 55K page views. I wouldn't have believed you. Now I know to some, that's not exactly a viral thing. To me though, that truly means a lot to me because I can count the number of friends I have on one hand, yet my blog was viewed all over the world, 55K times in 2024. That is just incredible. Especially with the fact my blog has had over 155K page views over the past ten years and to have 55K of t...

Chapter Twelve

Image
I can't believe we're in the final chapter of 2024. This year just seems to have flown by. It feels like yesterday I was writing Chapter One and I'm amazed I've made it to twelve chapters which is an achievement in itself if you've read my blog previously as I've been known to take breaks from blogging. I know last month, I didn't post very much but life just got incredibly busy all of sudden and I felt like I didn't have time to post so I can only apologise for the lack of posts last month. However, this month is going to be very different because the festive season is here which means I've got a few exciting posts along the way for this month to get you in the mood. I'm also aware that I am close to achieving my blogging goal this month of making 150 posts this year as I got eleven posts to go after this month which means you can expect to see eleven posts from this month. I'm super excited for this month because I love this time of year. I...

Day 3 Sunset

Image
This is the third photo of my August Photo Challenge is Sunset so here is a sunset I captured. Who doesn't love seeing a sunset, it's just a beautiful moment of nature that is always a joy to see especially in the Summer. I always think of Pirates of the Caribbean whenever I see a sunset and the quote: "Keep a weather eye open on the horizon." Plus the beautiful Hanz Zimmer soundtrack, just the next time you're viewing a sunset put on the song One Day from the Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End soundtrack and you will know what I mean. Also imagine hearing that song while watching the sunset with your partner and how romantic that would be. That is definitely an idea for a date, have a picnic on the beach in the evening while watching the sunset and have the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack play. That would be a couple goals for me.  Let me know if you've ever done that for a date, I would love to hear how it went. Anyway, that's all I have to ...

Day 2 Sunglasses

Image
The second photo of my August Photo Challenge is Sunglasses and these are my sunglasses. The top summer essential is a pair of sunglasses unless you live in the UK and have a rare day where you get to wear sunglasses. Either way, it's always good to have a pair in your bag just in case. These ones I got from Boohoo and I believe were around £7. I was after a specific style as I really like big sunglasses mainly because it protects my eyes from the sun and I just need glasses that cover the whole of my eyes.  I really love these ones and they actually suit my face really well. Sometimes it's trial and error when it comes to sunglasses. I got lucky with these ones, I also bought another pair which have the cat eye style but I prefer these ones. Let me know what kind of style of sunglasses you prefer in the comments below, I would love to hear it. The one thing about Summer is that you should always invest in a good pair of sunglasses and most importantly buy a case for them. I...

Day 1 Passport

Image
The first photo of my August Photo Challenge is Passport so this is my passport. I had to get a new passport recently as I went to Dublin in March and they said my passport expired in July 2024 even though the expiry date was April 2025. Apparently there's a new Brexit rule where passports are only valid for ten years so check to see when your passport was issued and if it's more than ten years then you most likely need a new passport. It's such a silly rule because everything goes by expiry dates so why not passports. Luckily when I reordered my passport it only took a week to process, I didn't even pay extra. I just put my old passport in an envelope and posted it in the post box. It got back to them fine and got back to me fine as well.  I think I prefer the old burgundy coloured passports because they were such a classic colour. Now these passports just look like every other country's passport. I think every country should have a unique coloured passport and I k...

Chapter Eight

Image
For this month, I thought I'd do something a little bit different and decided to do a photo challenge everyday. I've compiled many different photo challenge lists and decided to create one of my own so feel free to follow along with me as I complete this August Photo Challenge on my blog. I thought it would be a fun way to spend August by going on a scavenger hunt for different photos and sharing one everyday. Below you'll find the list for my photo challenge. Hope you enjoy this month's photo challenge. Let me know if you'll be following along and be sure to share your photos with me, I would love to see them. Thank you for taking the time to view my blog and I'll be back pretty soon with the first photo of the challenge.  See you then. Dear Reader

Image
Dear Reader, Why hello there? I thought I’d direct this post to you, the one who is reading this. How are you doing? I hope life is treating you well at the moment. If not then I hope things will get better for you. There’s normally a silver lining to things, you just have to look for it. I didn’t really have much planned for today's post if I’m honest but I thought that’s okay. Life has been a bit of a roller coaster for me recently and sometimes things happen. Of course I didn’t want to let my readers down and not post anything so instead I’d thought I’d write from the heart and dedicate this post to you. The reader. Whether you’re someone who’s stuck with this blog for a while or just stumbled across it. I thank you. It means a lot because every person that views my blog makes it more meaningful and maybe even puts a smile on your face. Perhaps I’ve even given you a tip you never even knew.  I make this blog to entertain but also to offer advice based on my experience. I hope yo...

Things I Wish I Knew Before Blogging

Image
I've been blogging for ten years now and it's been going great but had I known some things early on maybe I would have grown more early on. Although, that's a part of the blogging journey. Sometimes you make mistakes or discover something new that you didn't know before. It's a learning curve but one day you'll find your groove and get to where you want to go with your blog. I thought I'd help any new bloggers out there by sharing five things I wish I knew about my blog.  1. Have an idea of what kind of posts you want to do When I first started blogging, I had no idea what kind of posts I was going to do. I just did spontaneous posts as they came and hoped for the best. One thing I would recommend is before you go live with your blog, have a few posts ready to go so that you can publish them once a week to get you started. This gives you an idea of what kind of posts you want to write but also gets you used to writing posts. Plus having a few posts ready to ...

Creative Motivation

Image
Sometimes in life you have to use your creativity. Even now I have to use my creativity to write a month of blog posts. We all use creativity in some aspects of our life whether it's writing, working on a project, making art or even cooking a meal. We have these moments where creativity is needed, but how do we keep that creative motivation alive? Well, I'm here to help you with five tips on how to motivate yourself to be creative. 1. Enjoyment Honestly, if you love being creative on a daily or weekly basis then you're already one step ahead. Having passion and enjoyment in your creative projects can really help to boost that motivation. Sometimes all we need is a little joy in life to get us motivated and if you enjoy being creative then you won't have any trouble finding that creative motivation.  2. Work on your creativity for an hour Spending an hour of your day on a creative activity can really inspire you to be creative. Whether it's doing some writing on a st...

Chapter Six

Image
Time for chapter six of this year and I actually can't believe we're halfway through the year of 2024. It feels like yesterday we were saying goodbye to 2023 and now we're already in June. It just feels like after we finish the longest month which is January to go the shortest month which is February. All the months after just fly by and before you know it, it's Christmas time. It's made me realise that I do need to slow down as my days are feeling more the same, although I know that is about to change in my personal life. I can't go into too many details but my personal life is changing ever so slightly, although it is a daunting change. Sorry for being vague about it but I don't want to give too much away just yet as I'm still figuring some things out.  Moving on to a more exciting announcement which if you've been reading my previous posts will already know but for those who have just stumbled upon this blog as this just happens to be the first po...

May Favourites

Image
It's the end of May and you know what that means. It's time for a monthly favourite post. Let's get into it. Hell's Kitchen I found myself trying to find something to watch as I do like to watch series from time to time. I decided to go back to Hell's Kitchen as I haven't watched any of the latest series of it. I started with Season 21 which I think I started watching before but never got around to actually finishing it as some of the episodes I felt I had seen before. Either way I still enjoy it because I love watching what they make, even during the first episode during the signature challenge, one of the chefs used boxed pasta and a jar of sauce which even I know is a big no in front of Gordon Ramsay. Plus I just like Gordon Ramsay shouting away with his famous insults. Although I did find him to be a bit tame compared to what he used to be in previous seasons, it was still fun either way. I started watching Season 22 and I know this is definitely a series I ...

Blogging In 2024?

Image
Is blogging still relevant in 2024? I think so. I think there's no rules to blogging no matter what year it is. It's a form of creativity to express yourself. Your blog, your rules. I can also tell you from the amount of page views I get on a monthly basis that it is still relevant. People are still reading blog posts all over the world. I have people reading my blogs from the UK, United States, Hong Kong, Germany, France and more countries. It's crazy how far my little blog can go around the world. Honestly, if you love writing and blogging then it will all work out for you in the end.  Should you start a blog in 2024? Yes, you still can. If you're passionate about something and want to write about it then do it. The important thing is going into blogging for these reasons. Don't go into thinking you'll be a famous blogger and get all the sponsorships because then you're doing blogging for the wrong reasons. I blog because I really enjoyed writing down all ...

Day In The Life Of A Blogger

Image
I thought during my anniversary week that I'd share a day in the life of a blogger. This is pretty much my day when I'm working on my blog posts. I normally work on my posts a month in advance so this is a real example of this as you'll soon find out. Anyway, let's get started with a day in the life of a blogger. My day starts with coffee as I always need coffee in the morning. I also decided to have some breakfast which is very unusual for me as I normally don't eat breakfast unless I'm on holiday. It's nothing special, it's just Nestle Golden Nuggets which is one of the best cereals in my opinion. After breakfast, I decided to have a clean up of my desk so I started removing everything from my desk and giving it a wipe down. Once I cleaned my desk, I put everything back and on this particular day it inspired me to do my desk tour post as my desk is the tidiest it's ever been. You'll be able to see my desk tour in tomorrow's post. I noticed ...

10 Years

Image
Happy Ten Year Anniversary to my blog Megan Time! I cannot quite believe we have reached this milestone. Seventeen year old me decided she was going to do a blog because she was inspired by Zoella to create my own blog. Honestly, if you look at my first few posts I was an amateur and don't judge the spelling mistakes because honestly I just typed up my posts and published them without even proofreading or spell check. I'd like to say I've grown and improved since then, especially as I proofread and spell check all my posts before publishing them.  Honestly, thank you so much to anyone that has taken the time to view my blog. It honestly means so much to me that I've reached ten years on this blog and with over 100,000 pageviews too. You tell seventeen year old Megan that she would reach that amount of page views, she would not believe you. I really do love this blog as it's my little baby and my own piece of the internet. It's been with me these past 10 years an...

My Blogging Tips

Image
As this is the week of this blog's tenth anniversary, I thought I'd start this week with my blogging tips to help any bloggers that may need a boost or inspire you to create your own blog. Either way I hope this insight is useful to you for running your own blog and everything I've learned about blogging over these past ten years. Let's get started! 1. Find a suitable blogging platform This is a crucial part to your blogging journey is the platform you're going to use. There's so many platforms to choose from. Personally I use Blogger as it's really straightforward to use and I've used it these past ten years and not had a problem with it. I know there's other platforms that you can use like Wordpress, Squarespace. It's entirely up to you to experiment with different platforms to see what works for you. I just love Blogger because it hasn't let me down so far since using it but the choice is entirely up to you.  2. Figure out what you want to...
