Day 7 Book

Image
The seventh photo of my August Photo Challenge is a book. The book I'm currently reading is The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman. I'm enjoying it so far and I'm excited to see where it goes. The only slight niggle I have is I'm slightly getting bored of true crime stories probably because I've read so many and I would really love to read a contemporary romance novel. I may have to break my rule and read two books at once. I'm not quite sure what to read though so I may reread one I've already got. I'm just in the mood for a bit of romance in my life and the only romance I get these days is through books. I was eying up my bookshelf the other day and there are so many books I would love to reread again. A series I'm really tempted to read is the Shopaholic series again as it has been so long since I last read it fully. Although, I'm not sure I can handle another series while I'm currently reading a series. I may just have to stick to a st...

Day 4 Happiness

Image
The fourth photo of my photo challenge is happiness and this is my happiness. The one thing that always makes me really happy is my bookshelf. I'm making my way through reading my entire bookshelf but I just love seeing my books as they make me happy. I always love having time to sit down and read a book, especially when it's a good read and I'm able to get lost in a world.  My books are always something that makes me happy and it's hard for people that aren't big readers to understand but it's always a nice feeling to see them on display. I hope one day to create a little library in my own home and have a little reading nook. That's the dream. Even going into a bookshop brings me so much calm and makes me happy. Especially if I'm on my own and can just take my time browsing the books. Honestly, it's nice to have something to enjoy. Some like cars, I like books. It's a hobby that I love to have as it makes me happy. If it's not harming or cau...

My Reading Plans

Image
If you've read my blog in the past, you know I've made many posts about books and that's because I love to read. I've done this back in July and I realise there's a few books from that post on here still. That's because I'm a huge procrastinator but I thought I'd share my reading plans for the rest of the year. I currently only have seven books on my bookshelf to read then I will complete my goal of reading all the books on my bookshelf which is a goal I never thought I'd achieve. Although the temptation to buy more books is very real either way, all the books I want to read and hope to finish by the end of this year. Let's get started.  Currently Reading One Enchanted Evening by Katie Fforde This book is one I'm enjoying so far. It's a nice story of haters to lovers kind of story is what I'm assuming is going to happen. The main character is called Meg which I'm very happy about as that's the main reason why I bought this boo...

My Reading Plans

Image
Summer is here and this is the perfect time to get your tbr list down. I think because of the nice weather you can take a book and read anywhere whether that's on the beach or in the park or on your travels. Now is the perfect time to crack open a book and this summer I decided to challenge myself with five books to read which may not seem like a lot but I get into the habit of having a reading slump so this year I'm going to force myself to read five books that have been sitting on my TBR shelf for quite some time. Now without further ado, let's get on with my list of books I want to read this summer.  1. With This Kiss by Carrie Hope Fletcher This is the book I'm currently reading at the moment and I'm super excited about reading it. I've read a few of her books in the past and they always surprise me because you think it's going to be a pretty normal story but then something magical happens in between those pages and suddenly you're pleasantly surpris...

My Bucket List - The Update

Image
Back in 2017 I created a list of 30 things to do before I'm 30. I thought five years later I've completed some of the things on the list and thought why not give you an update on everything I've done. I'm writing this now as a 25 year old so I still have another five years to complete all these things. I know the bucket list is one of my popular posts, so I thought why not give you an update.  So let's get started: 1. Get My Degree Now this was one I knew I'd complete because when I wrote this list, I was in my third year, but I not only got one degree, I got a master's degree on top of that which when I wrote this first list, I did not ever think I'd do a master's degree but here we are. Getting two degrees is my highest achievement in my life so I'm pretty proud to have them and just really shows you can put your mind to anything if you really try.  2. Face a Fear When I wrote this the first time, I went on about being scared of heights but thi...

My Favourite Book

Image
Anyone who knows me will know that Harry Potter is my favourite book series of all time, but I feel like Harry Potter is its category so surprisingly I'm not going to talk about them.  My favourite book came out of nowhere but when I did get it and started reading it, I couldn't put it down which is the best kind of book. I've discovered that I love contemporary, romance books as most of my bookshelf are full of them. I just love a feel-good book and contemporary romance always provides that for me. I found this book on YouTube through Book Tube and this book was highly recommended if you're looking for a good contemporary romance book.  So what is my favourite book?  Well... Yes, it's Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. I was so excited to get this book because I heard such good things about it so the minute it arrived, I started reading it and I couldn't put it down. It related to me because I've had many crushes in my lifetime but there's a...

Reading

Image
During this lock down, I saw this post on Instagram that said: "Read the books you already bought before you buy anymore." That kind of hit me because I do get into a habit of buying new books and telling myself I will read them then I either procrastinate, reread Harry Potter again or just buy a new book to read then forget about the ones already on my bookshelf. This lock down kind of got me looking at my bookshelf and realising I do have fifteen books on my bookshelf that I have not yet read yet. I get into weird phases sometimes where I read a lot of books or procrastinate reading by going into the dreaded reading slump where you don't feel like reading. Now though with being inside although the time, I don't want to be staring at screens all day long so instead I have been doing a lot of reading. I've read books within two days and I am pretty proud of myself. I thought I'd share with you the list of books I've completed so far since the end...

Bookshelf Thoughts

Image
The other day I was looking up at my bookshelf because from where I sit in the bed, my eyes just wonder up to the right corner and there they are. My books. I have noticed I do this a lot when I'm sitting or laying in my bed. My eyes will just wonder up to the right corner of my room and I just look at my books. I get a sense of happiness when I look at my books because reading makes me happy and I'm slowly building my collection of books and it feels great. I actually scrolled through my Instagram the other day and noticed that I had a few photos of my bookshelf and I noticed that each time the shelf was different. It had grown because I had gotten more books over time and that just makes me happy. It's actually the only part of my uni room that I keep updating and improving over time. Of course I've changed other parts of my room but this is the one that's probably changed the most. It's crazy how these inanimate objects. These books can make me so happ...

12 Bookworm Problems

Image
I am a massive bookworm. I love reading books and escaping the real world and enter a fictional one. Reading makes me so happy because I can just get lost into the pages of a book and forget about all the problems of really life. However, like with many things there are a few problems many bookworms like myself have to face. 1. So many books to read There are so many books out there of all different genres and the sad truth is we probably won't be able to read them all. No matter how big your book collection is there is always another book out there which could be apart of your favourite genre and you don't own it. There are so many books I want to read. I have a huge reading list of books which I own that I want to read but there's also books which are on my Amazon wish list that I want to read to. It's complicated but you'll always find another book to read. 2. Not enough time to read I wish I could spend all day just reading books but sometimes life ha...

New Home

Image
Long time no post. I know it's been ages since I last made a post but I have a very good reason. Well, two weeks ago I was busy working on my assignments and I wanted to get them done so that was my main focus. Then I travelled home last week by train and arrived at my new house. My new house at home had no wifi so I was just living off the 3G on my phone and so I couldn't use my laptop or make any posts for a while. That is until now where this morning we finally had wifi installed into my new house which is literally the best. Now I can watch YouTube videos on my laptop instead of on my tiny little phone screen. Now that's another thing, I have moved house back at home and it's really great. I can now get a bus to town if I want to and I'm not too far away from a shop. I'm also not in the middle of nowhere which is a plus. I love my new room too. It's just the right size for me and I recently got a bookshelf from my nan as one of my Christmas presen...
