Not Perfect

Image
I’m not perfect and one of the reasons why is I missed a day or two of posting. Not going to lie, I was slightly busy with work that I completely forgot to check everything was on track and I forgot to schedule one or two posts. It will happen where I may miss a day or two but I will make it up to you with even more posts as my goal is 30 posts this month at least so maybe when I miss a day, you may get double posts on some days.  Either way, I hope you can forgive me if you were checking back on my blog for a new post these past couple of days and nothing was there. Life got so busy that I forgot to update my blog. Luckily I have posted all the posts now so that we’re back on track for 30 posts this month and yes I’m including this post as it is still a blog post. It’s not a perfect blog post but as I mentioned before I’m not perfect. It still counts as I’m giving you an update on the lack of posts but I’m also letting you know that everything will soon be back on track again from...

August

Time for the eighth month of the year and the height of summer. Yet I still have to work. Although unexpectedly I have a couple of trips lined up. Today as you're reading this I'm currently heading up to Manchester for a weekend away to visit my brother but also to do some shopping as pay day was yesterday. I'm also excited to go to Primark which is one of my favourite shops and it's a treat to go there when I can. Especially in Manchester because I'm so familiar with the layout, I know exactly where I am. The following weekend I'm actually going down to Bristol to visit my dad's family who I haven't seen in a couple of months plus I get to enjoy a bit of time off work which is always the best feeling.  Recently it feels like I've been living out of a suitcase or an overnight bag because last weekend I had two sleepovers, one at my best friend's house and the other at a man's house who I've been seeing for a while now. I'm not going t...

Chapter Twelve

Image
I can't believe we're in the final chapter of 2024. This year just seems to have flown by. It feels like yesterday I was writing Chapter One and I'm amazed I've made it to twelve chapters which is an achievement in itself if you've read my blog previously as I've been known to take breaks from blogging. I know last month, I didn't post very much but life just got incredibly busy all of sudden and I felt like I didn't have time to post so I can only apologise for the lack of posts last month. However, this month is going to be very different because the festive season is here which means I've got a few exciting posts along the way for this month to get you in the mood. I'm also aware that I am close to achieving my blogging goal this month of making 150 posts this year as I got eleven posts to go after this month which means you can expect to see eleven posts from this month. I'm super excited for this month because I love this time of year. I...

10 Years

Image
Happy Ten Year Anniversary to my blog Megan Time! I cannot quite believe we have reached this milestone. Seventeen year old me decided she was going to do a blog because she was inspired by Zoella to create my own blog. Honestly, if you look at my first few posts I was an amateur and don't judge the spelling mistakes because honestly I just typed up my posts and published them without even proofreading or spell check. I'd like to say I've grown and improved since then, especially as I proofread and spell check all my posts before publishing them.  Honestly, thank you so much to anyone that has taken the time to view my blog. It honestly means so much to me that I've reached ten years on this blog and with over 100,000 pageviews too. You tell seventeen year old Megan that she would reach that amount of page views, she would not believe you. I really do love this blog as it's my little baby and my own piece of the internet. It's been with me these past 10 years an...

How To Plan Blog Posts

Image
You've got a blog and now all you need is some posts. Here's how to plan your posts.  Get a dedicated planner or notebook for your blog This really helps to keep things organised by having a dedicated planner or a notebook for your blog. You can write down your post ideas, plans for what you're going to post and just keep track of everything. I got a notebook from Poundland and it really helps me out because it's something I've always used for my blog to have a dedicated notebook. This is one of my most important tools when it comes to planning my blog posts so I highly recommend it.  Work out your posts for the month Something that really helps is making sure you're a month ahead. It's good to work out what posts you want to post for the month. For me, I already know two guaranteed posts for the month as I do it for every month and that's a chapter post at the beginning of the month then a favourites post at the end of the month. I then put into conside...

Chapter Five

Image
Another chapter in the year 2024 as we start the month of May.  This month is actually going to be a significant month for me as it's the month of my tenth anniversary of this blog which honestly is a momentous occasion for me because I can't quite believe we've hit the tenth year of this blog. I'm not going to talk too much about it as I do have a post dedicated for the day of the anniversary but I'm just honestly so surprised at how far this blog has come since the early days of 2014 when seventeen year old Megan decided to start a blog one day. Honestly, I'm so grateful to anyone who has taken the time to view my blog as it means so much to me and makes me feel like my words actually matter. As it's the tenth anniversary, there is going to be a lot of posts this month as I've planned quite a few posts in relation to the anniversary of this blog and also giving any new bloggers out there some guidance on blogging with a few blog related posts so be sur...

Blog Post Ideas

Image
Sometimes one of the hardest things about blogging is to know what to write about. You could be racking through your brain for a while for an idea or searching the internet for inspiration. That's why I thought it would be a good idea to share with you five blog post ideas that you can use throughout the year and also they give you enough to adapt them and make them fully your own.  Without further ado let's get started. 1. Routine Post Honestly, it's an oldie but a goodie. Doing a routine post gives the reader a little insight into the person behind the blog by sharing a part of your routine. The beauty is the routine could be anything from morning, evening, makeup, skincare, reading, travel etc. It's one idea that could expand into multiple ideas plus they're normally pretty straightforward to come up with as all you have to do is take pictures of your routine and then write up what you're doing. Routine posts are always popular ones and you can make them pers...

Chapter Three

Image
Here we are. Chapter three of 2024 and it's kind of crazy how quickly we've gotten to March. It feels like January lasts forever then we speed through February and now here we are in the month of March. It's a very exciting month as at the end of the month I'm heading to Dublin for a little weekend getaway with my mum. I've never been to Ireland before so I'm very excited to go there.  Another exciting thing that is happening this month is I've decided to post everyday on my blog for the month of March. As many of you have known if you've read my previous posts, in 2024, my goal is to create 150 posts in 2024 and in order to do that I knew I had to post everyday for an entire month and this will be the first of many times I do this in the year. I thought it would be fun and exciting. I have a lot of good themes going on this month from blogging, beauty, lifestyle and travelling which I'm very excited to share with you all.  Let me know if there's...

Thank You

Image
Thank You I’ve just hit 100,000 page views on this blog and honestly I’d never thought I’d ever get to that figure. I was happy to get 1000 views but in the nine years I’ve run this blog that figure honestly means a lot to me. I just wanted to take this moment to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to anyone that’s taken the time to view, read, share and comment on my blog. It means a lot that people from all over the world have viewed my own little piece of the internet. Maybe even enjoyed one or two of my posts or even taken on board some advice I’ve given. Either way I’m thankful you’ve helped this blog grow and this is definitely a highlight of my year.  Especially as I’m coming up to ten years on my blog in May 2024. It’s a wonderful achievement to reach 100,000 page views. Thank you once again and I’ll be back soon with another post for you.  See you then. 700 Posts

Image
Honestly, knowing this is my 700th post is surreal to me. I can't quite believe I've written that many posts. That's like 77 posts each year in the nine years I've been running this blog.  I wanted to make this post as a thank you to anyone that has taken the time to read, share, comment or even just visit my blog. It honestly means the absolute world to me. My blog is like my baby and to watch it grow from 2014 until now is honestly amazing. There's been a few bumps in the road such as my many blogging hiatus, the spelling and grammar mistakes, the experimenting with different themes and more but now I can honestly say I'm proud of my blog and how it looks. I know it's not completely perfect but it's better than what it was in 2014. Even then I still loved it because it was my own part of the internet that belonged to me.  Thank you so much. I know this post is very short but I just wanted to dedicate this post to all of you and show my gratitude that y...

Behind The Scenes

Image
I thought a fun little idea would be to give a behind the scenes photo journal of how I develop a blog post from beginning to when it gets published. The post I'm going to take you behind the scenes is yesterday's post which is My Reading Plans.  So here's behind the scenes of how I create a blog post: As many of you know I'm currently posting everyday in July and one of the things I like to do is list out all the posts I want to do for this month as it gives me a bit of structure and also if I'm struggling for an idea I can choose one from the list. I keep this list in my designated notebook for this blog and on this day I chose to create my reading plans post.  Now before I even begin to create the post I always need coffee because it always helps me feel productive and I have a coffee addiction so this won't be the only coffee I drink while making this post. In fact it was the first of many. Next is the title image of each post and I've been using this gr...

First Post Of 2023

Image
Here we are, my first post of 2023.  This is the year I turn 27 and that freaks me out so much because then in three years time I'll be 30. Luckily my birthday is not until October so I can enjoy being 26 for a while.  I feel like last year, I improved my blogging by posting over 100 posts which was my mini goal of 2022 but I know I slacked a little, especially with my blogmas. The problem with having a full time job on top of running a blog is my time is limited throughout the day and when I get a day off, I tend to be a little lazy and just not do a lot. This is something I want to improve on by making more regular posts and giving everyone a reason to come back to this blog whether it's a time filler, taking on a piece of advice or just having something fun to read.  My blogging goal for 2023 is to make regular posts that are engaging and fun to read in your spare time so expect to hear more from this blog this year. Thank you so much to everyone who reads my blog. Las...

My Blogging Tips

Image
As someone who has been blogging for nearly eight years now and I accumulated over 40,000 page views. I feel like I have some knowledge on how to blog, so I thought I'd share some of my blogging tips with you whether you have a blog, thinking of starting a blog or are just plain curious then this one is for you.  Let's get started 1. Why do you want to blog? Something really important to figure out when starting a blog is why do you want to blog. Are you passionate about something whether it's fashion, makeup, gaming etc. and you want to have a platform to share it on? Do you enjoy writing and inspire to be a journalist/writer then blogging could give you that experience? Are you too scared to start a YouTube channel because you don't want to show your face, so blogging is the next best thing? Whatever your reason is then always keep that in the back of your mind. Don't go into blogging if you expect to get millions of page views and start earning lots of money as w...

Post Everyday In May

Image
Surprise! I'm posting every day for the entire month in May. This has been in the works since March, and I have scheduled every single post except one or two for this entire month which is honestly a big achievement for me in itself. I've been writing most of these posts in either March or April and I'm proud of every single one of them. I know last year my blogging game was a bit low and one of my goals this year is to reach 100 posts and I thought what better way to do that than to have a whole month of posting every day.  I have posts for anyone to enjoy whether it's beauty, travel, books or just the reality of adult life. I've definitely got a post for you.  So be sure to come back to my blog every day as there will be a new post published at 8am (GMT) for you to enjoy.  Thank you for reading my blog. I really do appreciate, and I'll be back tomorrow with a new post.  See you then.  Megan x  *This is not a sponsored post*  For busin...

Thank You!

Image
Dear Readers,  Thank you. You visiting my blog means a lot to me. I have been blogging now for over seven years. One thing I never imagined for this blog was getting over 1000 page views, let alone over 39,000 page views. That is crazy to me that my blog has been viewed that many times. I may not be a well-known blogger and I'm not sure how I would feel to be a popular blogger because I'm so introverted, but it means a lot that my words can be seen by anyone all over the world. Whether it's me rambling about something in my life or offering a piece of advice that could help someone. Maybe even something I said made someone's day. Either way, whether you've read only one of my posts or are a frequent reader of my blog then I'm grateful for it. Whether it's one person or 30 people. It makes blogging worthwhile knowing someone has read my blog post. I know I'm not the best blogger especially after the numerous breaks from blogging I've had over the year...

Where Have I Been?

Image
Oh boy, I meant to make this post back in September, but I wasn't happy with the post I made and then I completely forgot until now.  I don't even know how to explain my absence from this blog because I don't know why I left it so long. I had planned to blog every day in August I even have 8 draft posts but a lot of them were unfinished and the posting never happened. Let's just say life got in the way and a lot has happened since I last posted on here.  As some of you know if you've been reading my blog, I was in Manchester this year studying for my master's degree and over the summer I had a 14,000 word dissertation to complete. My life became very busy and stressful doing this dissertation but also the worry about what I was going to do after my master's degree. My original plan was to do an internship after my dissertation but after several unsuccessful interviews and job applications that didn't happen, so I had to move back to plan B which is to mo...

Life Update

Image
Wow! It's been a month since I last made a post. I do apologise but life has been pretty busy at the moment.  As you guys know I'm currently studying a master's degree, so I've had a few deadlines here and there. I also moved back to Manchester finally which is nice because I do love his city, it's just a little lonely though sometimes. That's not a bad thing as I do like my alone time and I'm pretty much used to being alone, so it doesn't really make much of a difference. It probably would be nice to hang out with someone but what can I do? We're still in a pandemic and my current love life is looking very uncertain at the moment so that's a bummer.  Like I've said I've had a few deadlines to do and they've been keeping me busy. I'm also currently working on my dissertation so that's something that is definitely keeping me busy too. I guess I've been feeling unmotivated to blog but now that I'm writing this post, I fe...

A New Month

Image
I can't believe it's the beginning of a new month and we're now over halfway through the year. The first half of this year has kind of sucked but I have hope that the second half will be better. Things are slowly going back to normal (well as normal as they can be in these current times) and hopefully things will just get better overall. I'm hoping things will get better. I've been kind of lacking in self-care for myself and making sure I'm okay. I've been overthinking a lot of things and just generally being a little too lazy. This month though I plan to make some changes in looking after myself and preparing for the future. I'm hopeful that in September I will be moving and starting university again so that's exciting. They keep emailing me with important details and so I'm pretty sure that part of my life is still going ahead. Anyway, that's all I have to really say. I hope this month brings you joy. You truly deserve it. Thank you...

Six Years

Image
On this day, six years ago was when I started my blog and posted my first post. I was seventeen years old and thought this blog would be a bit of fun. I didn't actually think in six years time I'd still have this blog and writing posts. Yet here we are in 2020 and I have been blogging for six years now. This blog is still a little hobby of mine but honestly I love it and spend a lot of time working on it. I know I'm probably not the most professional blogger in the world but I'm improving each and everyday which is a part of life really. I do love writing and actually being able to look back at my posts makes me super happy. I've blogged through sixth form and university so there are so many memories on this blog. This place is just a little piece of the internet I can call my own that I'm glad I can share it with all of you guys. I mean what amazes me is that more people have viewed this blog in the US than in the UK. Also I've had views from Russia, ...
