My Reading List

As you know I am a massive bookworm and I have a reading list of books that I'm really excited to read so I thought I'd share with you my current reading list.

Current Read:

The Switch by Beth O'Leary
I feel I'm a bit late to the party with this book as it came out last year but being a reading slump for several months didn't help then being in lockdown in Wales while this book was in Manchester also didn't help. I have been excited to get around to reading this as I enjoyed The Flatshare and this sounded like a fun read. It's about a grandmother and granddaughter switching lives and it reminded me of those body switching or swapping lives stories like Freaky Friday or The Parent Trap. I've only read two chapters but I'm already excited to keep going with this book. I think she's a great writer and usually I don't like those multiple character stories as I feel they get confusing sometimes but with Beth's stories they just work. It worked with The Flatshare so I'm excited to see how it works with this story. I will let you know how I get on.

You Will Get Through This Night by Daniel Howell
I am such a big fan of Dan and Phil for the longest time. They were the first YouTubers I watched and I have loved seeing them grow into who they are today. I have their two previous books but when I found out Dan was coming out with this book, I knew I just had to get it. Mental health has always been a confusing one for me. Sometimes I'm completely fine then other times I'm not. When I first heard Dan talking about an 'existential crisis' I felt myself going through the same thing at times. It's a weird feeling and I know this sounds weird but whenever I was feeling Dan, sticking a video with Dan and Phil in it always made me feel better. I was lucky enough to see them live on their Interactive Introverts tour (on my own because literally nobody I know actually knows who there, it's always kind of a weird one explaining why I have a poster of them in my room which honestly sucks because they have literally made me happy) but during that show, I cried because I was so happy and it was honestly the best experience of my life to see them live. Finding out Dan had written this book about mental health made me want to read it because I've learnt a bit about mental health and his struggles with it. Some of them I even related to so that's why I knew I had to get this book. Also to top it all off, it's a signed copy too and I'm even more happy because this is the second time I've had a book sign and so I'm going to cherish this book forever. So I'm definitely excited to read this next.

Love Your Life by Sophie Kinsella
If you have seen my bookshelf then you'll probably see that one author sticks out and that is Sophie Kinsella. I honestly love her books. Every single one I've read, I've been happy to read. That's why when she released a new book then I knew I had to have it. I'm so excited to get around to reading this. It's about a woman who ditches her dating app to go off on a writing retreat to Italy. Already I'm hooked because as someone who's been through the troubles of online dating, I can totally understand why. I feel like this will definitely be a feel good read and maybe I'll even take some inspiration for it. Who knows? Either way I am looking forward to getting around to reading this.

Geekerella by Ashley Poston
This book has been on my shelf for a while now but I just haven't got around to it yet because I know there's a sequel and I don't know why but I prefer to read books which have a sequel or are in a series one after the other. So I think that's why I haven't got around to yet because I thought I'd finish the standalones first before reading this.  It sounds right up my street as it's a retelling of Cinderella but a fangirl edition and I've grown up being a fangirl so I can complete relate to it. I've heard some positive things about this book so I'm looking forward to reading it. I've never read anything by this author but I'm excited to read her work, every author deserves a chance after all and if there's a sequel then it must be good, right?

I Heart Hollywood by Lindsey Kelk
I know with the last one I said I like to read books in a series one after the other but I read I Heart New York about a year ago so it makes you wonder why this book hasn't been read yet. I obviously bought it after reading the first one. To be honest I don't know why I've left it so long to read this but I think that's what happens sometimes. I sometimes have no self control when it comes to buying books and the ones I've had for longer end up getting pushed to the back. Also I know there is more books in the series which all sound exciting so again I think I'm waiting to finish with the stand alone books before getting around to continuing on with this series. I loved the first book of the I Heart series, it was definitely one of my favourite reads during lockdown so I'm excited to see where the series goes.

Anyway, that's all the books on my reading list at the moment. There's probably other books back in Wales but these are all the books I have with me currently in Manchester. I'm looking forward to getting around to reading them all. I'm trying to make a real effort to read more now because I have been slacking a little so hopefully this is the motivation I need to get reading again.

Let me know any books on your reading list, I would love to hear your recommendations or if you have any of the ones on my list that would be pretty cool too.

Thank you reading for my blog and I'll be back tomorrow with another post for you.

See you then.
