Recently art has been taking over my life. Nearly everyday, I’m doing art. At the moment I’m working through Wreck This Journal which I’ve been doing a lot of painting in. It has been so much fun thinking of ways to interpret prompts and its project I’ve been enjoying doing. As I’m writing this I only have twenty pages left to do which is an achievement in itself.
Being creative has made me realise how much art is therapeutic for me. I love just being creative and experimenting. It’s made me realise that if I ever get my own place, I want a hobby room which will be filled with all my crafting stuff because it will be a place I can go to relax in and just be creative. I’ve been asked by several people in my life what the point of these journals and scrapbooks but they don’t realise that it makes me happy. It takes my mind off the worries of life. It’s not always perfect art as by no means I’m good at art but it’s just something that I enjoy doing. Plus it’s satisfying when I come to the end of a scrapbook. It’s satisfying and I do take time to flip through the end result as it makes me feel proud.
Art is definitely a hobby that I’ve been enjoying a lot recently and is definitely therapeutic for me. I thought I’d take the time to share what I’ve been doing in my Wreck This Journal recently just to show that it’s not perfect but it makes me happy to do. Plus might give you some ideas on what to do for some of the prompts.
Colour outside the line. Just decided for the circle to be a moon and the sea to reflect the moon.
Make drips like Jackson pollock. I don’t know if I interpreted this right but I liked the end result of it.
Splatter, yes you can. I just coloured the page black then sprayed and flicked colour onto the page.
Roll a die to find out which colour the page will be. I rolled a 4 so I got yellow.
Create an endless line. I thought I’d show a before and after as I glued string to the page but I thought it looked boring so I painted it green and flicked some red onto. I thought it looked pretty cool in the end.
As you can see I’ve been using a lot of paint recently especially with interpreting the prompts in the Wreck This Journal. I highly recommend if you have that creative bug to get yourself a wreck this journal as it’s fun to interpret the prompts in them. It’s definitely something that has made me happy and been very therapeutic so far this year.
That’s all I have to say for now. Let me know if you find art therapeutic and what’s your go to medium. Mine has definitely been acrylic paint.
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and I’ll be back again soon with another post.
See you then.
