Simple Makeup Routine

I thought I'd share with you guys my simple makeup routine that I use on a daily basis for work. This is kind of natural makeup look so it's perfect for everyday wear. Now this makeup routine has only got eight products, all of which are from the drugstore and very affordable. It also goes to show you don't need a lot of makeup on a daily basis.

So let's get started with this simple makeup routine.

1. Concealer

The first product I start with is concealer. I always prefer using concealer over foundation because I find it's all I need. I use it to cover up the dark circles under my eyes and any blemishes I have. The concealer is the Revolution Supersize Conceal & Define Concealer in the shade C3. This is a really good concealer and I find it covers up the dark circles and blemishes really well. I also love the big doe foot applicator it has to apply the concealer because I find it gets a lot of product on the application and it's easy to use to cover everything up you want it to on your face.

2. Powder

Because I don't use foundation on a daily basis, I like to use a powder that has a hint of colour to it but not a lot. My favourite powder that I have been loving is the e.l.f. finishing powder in the shade fair/light. I find this works really well for setting the concealer and also blends really well into the skin that you can hardly notice it's there. To be honest though there's so many affordable powders out there that it doesn't really matter which one you use to set your concealer but I just prefer using this one.

3. Blusher

As I'm looking a bit like a ghost at this point, I like to add a bit of colour to my cheeks. Now I'm someone who prefers blusher over contour because I just find it looks more natural blush you don't have to worry about applying too much especially if you have a very pigmented blush. A blusher that I've been using a lot recently is the Bourjois blusher in the shade Rose D'or. It's a very pretty pink shade that has some gold shimmer in it. However it looks very natural and the gold acts as a highlight on your cheeks too. It's just perfect if you're looking for a natural blush.

4. Eyebrows

Now I can't forget the eyebrows when doing my makeup. I usually prefer using powder but I recently discovered this product and it makes doing eyebrows so much easier. It's the e.l.f. brow pencil in the shade taupe. It's perfect for my eyebrows and just looks so natural. I just using it to fill in the gaps in the brows and I also use the brush as well to brush them out. It's just so easy to use. After I've filled in my brows I also use a brow gel just to set them in place. The brow gel I use is the Rimmel Brow This Way Gel in the clear shade. It just works and I've never had a problem with my brows smudging.

5. Eye shadow

I like using eye shadow because I find it just brightens your eyes and gives them a bit of colour that's slightly different to the rest of your skin. I prefer using just a simple nude shade and I've gone through many nude shades in my time but I think I've found the perfect one. It's the Maybelline Colour sensational Eye shadow in the shade nudist. It's just a nice simple nude shade that blends really well and it's all you need for an everyday natural look.

6. Mascara

One of my biggest priorities of mascara is that it doesn't smudge. I get itchy eyes sometimes so I tend to rub my eyes a lot. The problem is usually mascara tends to rub off. Now I've discovered a mascara that does not smudge and comes off onto your hand (as much). It's the Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof Mascara. It's just a great for everyday use and you can keep your eyelashes looking natural but you also have the option to voluminise them even more depending on how many times you apply it. I also find this mascara dries really quickly as well so it's perfect for if you're in a rush.

7. Lip Balm

I just find using lip balm is just so quick and easy especially for everyday use like going to work. One lip balm I always stand by is Vaseline just because I find it's super moisturising and I've always never had a problem with dry lips when I use it. I just have this Lulu Guinness Original Vaseline which is just perfect for everyday use.

Anyway, that's my simple makeup routine. I hope you enjoyed this post and that it was helpful for you on what to use for an everyday makeup look. Let me know what's your everyday makeup essential in the comments below.

I'll be back again tomorrow with another post for you.
