April Favourites

The end of another month means it's time for a list of all my favourites of the month. Let's get started.

Wreck This Journal by Keri Smith
I saw a tiktok the other day where it showed a video of someone doing a page out of Wreck This Journal. I'd heard of it before but never actually thought of getting it. As someone who loves scrapbooking, this journal felt perfect so I spent a Christmas gift voucher and bought it. I've had so much fun so far filling out the different pages. The point is to destroy the journal but I'm a little tame at the moment. I know there's pages like taking the book in the shower or throwing it off a high ledge. Each page is like a different project. The best part is there's no right or wrong way to do the journal. You can interpret the instructions how you like and nobody can judge you. It's definitely therapeutic to do. I'm excited to keep going with this journal.

Love, Rosie
I watched Love, Rosie this month and I forgot how much I loved it. It’s such a sweet film about two friends that clearly love each other but keep missing opportunities to be together due to unforeseen circumstances. It’s a story about love, friendship, single parenting and relationship drama. Lily Collins and Sam Claflin are amazing in this as they have such great chemistry and you really believe they’ve been friends for a long time. The rest of the cast do a great job and honestly it’s a really nice British film. It’s definitely made me wish I could write love letters and send emails the old fashioned way. That would be honestly the most romantic thing anyone could do for me is write a love letter. It’s what I’ve always wanted.

Legally Blonde
Following from Love, Rosie, I decided to watch another classic. Legally Blonde. It's inspiring that Elle Woods gets broken up with and plans to get him back by going to law school. Only realising this was the best decision for her as she was able to better herself in the process. It’s a fun feel good movie and the court scene is always satisfying in the end. Definitely a favourite classic romantic comedy film.

Stalked: A BBC Podcast
It has been a while since I listened to a podcast but recently I redownloaded the podcast app and decided to check it out. As someone who watches True Crime videos on YouTube, I thought why not listen to cases through a Podcast. That's when I came across this podcast and decided to listen to it. I was drawn to this one as I'm actually writing a novel that does involve a stalker in it and thought I can use this Podcast as research. However, as soon as I started listening I became hooked on what was happening. It tells Hannah Mossman Moore's true story where she had a stalker who bombarded her phone with messages, fake accounts and even impersonated her. It shows the real impact of stalking on people and shows how easily it is for someone to stalk you. When you imagine someone stalking you, often we see someone creepily just following us in real life but in this digital world you can have a cyber stalk that stalks your social media posts, checks your location if you're tagging places and follows your digital footprint. This is why it's really important to always be vigilant when you're posting online as you never know if someone will use what you post against you. Hannah's story moved me as nobody deserves to feel the way she did with her stalker. This podcast was done so well as each episode uncovered another layer to the story. I found myself listening to every word and being like, we all allegedly know who the stalker is but it's frustrating that they seem to be getting away with it. It also made me realise how stalking is a crime that doesn't get taken too seriously. A quote from the podcast said by a solicitor that specialises in stalking, Rachel Horman-Brown  "Stalking is the only crime where victims are meant to obtain evidence for themselves." This is scarily true which is why if you feel like you have a stalker or someone constantly messaging you on all social media platforms. Screenshot it because that evidence might just help you if you ever did have to take legal action. Anyway, I was really invested in this podcast this month and I highly recommend giving it a listen on either BBC sounds or any podcast app. It's worth it.

Tomb Raider 3
After all this time, this month I've finally completed Tomb Raider 3. This was a game that I was familiar with but I'd never actually played. When I was younger I used to play Croft Manor on this game but never the actual game itself. I'm not sure why. I think because I loved the first and second game so much that I forgot about it. Thanks to the remastered games I was able to play this in its entirety and managed to complete it this month. It's an intriguing game as it lets you choose your next location on the map. A big tip is always choose Nevada first due to the no weapons level in this section. I did enjoy the game although there were a few tedious levels. Lud's gate was one of them with that underwater maze section. I don't think I've ever used so many med packs in one section. It was very confusing. However, most games do have those levels that can be frustrating. Overall it was a good game and makes it my eighth Tomb Raider game that I've completed. I now need to complete the next three games which I have the remastered of so I can't wait for that. I also have yet to complete Shadow of the Tomb Raider to complete which I do have the game for, I just haven't gotten around to playing it yet. I think I'll do the remastered games first then do the final official game of the series last.

There we have it. Those are my favourites of the month. Let me know what you've been loving this month and I'll be back tomorrow with my June post.

See you then.
