November Favourites
It's that time of the month where I share all the things I've been loving this month. Weirdly enough, it has a very similiar theme this month which will become very obvious to you. Let's get started.
Harry Potter and Prisoner Of Azkaban PS2
One of my favourite Harry Potter games to play. I always love going back to playing on my PS2 and playing classic games. One of my all time favourite Harry Potter games is Prisoner of Azkaban on the PS2. I just find it cool that you get to play as all three characters and they all have a part to play in the storyline. They learn different spells each but also have a different set of skills. Harry is agile and can jump and climb. Hermione is smaller and can crawl into small spaces but also learns the majority of the spells which are fitting for the character. Ron has the Weasley touch which means he can open secret passages and search bookcases. This skill also confused me but then realised maybe it’s in relation to the fact his brothers Fred and George used to find secret passages around the school so learned it from them. I’m guessing that’s the reason but even so it’s nice the different characters have different uses as it means you’re not just playing as one character all the time. I like the days in the game feel longer as in some of the previous games you do one class and the days over whereas in this one you could end up doing two classes like a spell challenge and then finding potion ingredients then going to potions. Plus the exploration in the game is pretty as Hogwarts feels bigger than ever. Obviously not as intricate as games like Order of the Phoenix and Hogwarts Legacy but still a lot to explore. I also like the optional side quests you can do in this game like the lost and found, Hermione’s Statue List and Ron’s Stink Pellet Challenge. It just adds to the game and makes it enjoyable to play. I thoroughly enjoy playing this game and was glad to play it again this month.
Noodles
Honestly, one of my favourite foods is noodles. I always love having noodles whether it's pot noodle, Super noodles or this particular noodle which was actually kimchi flavoured. It’s always really tasty and I felt like giving it an honourable mention this month as I had a few noodles for dinner this month and thoroughly enjoyed them. It’s just a comfort food for me and probably a food I’d choose to eat for the rest of my life if I can only eat one food. Let me know what food you’d choose if you could only eat one for the rest of your life in the comments below. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Anyway, I thought I’d add noodles to my favourites as it’s something I loved this month and will continue to love.
Tomb Raider 2
I played another classic game this month which was Tomb Raider 2. Honestly I have fond memories of this game, mainly watching my Dad and brother play it while I held the walkthrough book. Does anyone remember those days where video games had these books which told you how to complete each level. Nowadays you can look up walkthroughs online. Big shoutout to Stella Walkthroughs because it really does help, especially if you’re like me that’s got to get every pickup and secret in the game. I felt like replaying this game this month and it was fun. I enjoy the different levels and the whole storyline. This is definitely one of my favourite Tomb Raider games. My favourite level is the Barkhang Monastery because I love how calming the level is if you’re an ally to the monks. I remember playing the New Game + which made the monks your enemy too. It’s a classic Tomb Raider level with booby traps, enemies and collecting items in order to progress. I enjoyed playing this game over a few days and it was fun.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban movie
I told you that you’re going to notice a theme and I’m not done. My boyfriend and I are currently doing a Harry Potter movie marathon where we’re making our way through all the movies. It’s nice because I haven’t actually watched the movies in a while but I’ve also not watched them with him so it’s nice to experience the movies with someone new. One of my favourite movies of the series is Prisoner of Azkaban. I feel like this is a well shot and beautiful movie. I like the fact that the students are wearing uniforms more realistically. I feel like the actors have grown into their shells. It’s got a great plot and it’s the point of the movies where it starts to get darker but still has that magical lightness to it. As Dumbledore says, “happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” A great quote and honestly this movie is a comfort movie, if I could rewatch a Harry Potter movie over and over again, it would be this one.
Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4
I told you I wasn’t done with Harry Potter but this is my final favourite of the month. I told you there was a theme. Although I realised there’s two themes. Harry Potter and video games. I think because my boyfriend is abroad at the moment, I’ve been passing the time with video games on my days off. This again is a fun game because it’s four Harry Potter games in one. This is my favourite because it’s comforting, it’s straight forward and you don’t even need to think too hard. You can play the game how you want to play it. You can go through the levels and put it down afterwards. Unless you’re like me who has to 100% games and collect every item which again is still fun. You can explore Hogwarts and get the items during the storylines or once you finish all the storylines then you can explore after it all. I definitely had fun playing this game and finished it a few days ago. I’ve actually started playing the Years 5-7 now but have only done one or two levels so far.
There we have it, that was my November favourites with a very much Harry Potter theme but it is that time of year where Harry Potter content is always warm and cosy. Anyway, that's all I have to share and I'll be back tomorrow with the first post of December.
See you then.
