If you've been reading my blog for a while then you know that one of the things I love to do is read a good book. I've been slowly making my way through my books as my goal is trying to complete the majority of my bookshelf. Yet that never seems to happen as I can't help but buy a new book. My reading pile has grown quite a bit so I thought I'd share all the books I'm planning on reading this year to motivate me to finally get around to reading them. Let's get started.
Current Reads:
I'm currently reading through the Harry Potter series and at the start of the year, I'm on Goblet of Fire which is the fourth book of the series. Honestly, this is my favourite book because I love that we get to learn more about the wizarding world from the Quidditch World Cup to other wizarding schools. Plus we get to see the Triwizard Tournament and honestly this book has so much in it which the movie missed out on from all the different characters like Winky the house elf, Ludo Bagman, Charlie and Bill Weasley. Dobby makes an appearance and we learn about Hermione's S.P.E.W. which adds a whole new layer to her character. Honestly, I always love when I get around to reading this book because it truly is my favourite of the entire series. If I could read one Harry Potter book over and over again it would be this one. In fact I did that one time on holiday where I had both Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire. I finished both books halfway through the holiday so I reread them both again. Definitely wasn't complaining about that.
I've slowly been making my way through this book. I've been meaning to read this book for ages and I started reading it but then stopped because life got in the way or rather I decided to start reading the Harry Potter series again. However, I've picked this book back up and started reading it again. I'm currently on Chapter ten and thoroughly enjoying it. It's about a woman who is gifted a Pumpkin Spice Cafe and decides to make a fresh start there where she meets new people and there's a farmer who is not falling for her charms yet but will he be won over by her? We shall have to wait and see.
To Be Read
I've been meaning to read this book for ages. I bought it when I finished Don't Let Him In by Lisa Jewell as I really enjoyed that and I wanted a new book of hers to read. I've heard many people say many good things about this book so I thought I'd give it a try. I've bought the audiobook as it contains a podcast in this book and I'm also a weirdo who will listen to the audiobook while reading the book. It's about two women who turn out to share the same birth date. One of the women is a podcaster who thinks the other woman has an interesting story and would make for a great subject for a podcast. Soon secrets are revealed and soon the lives of the women connect even more before soon the subject of the podcast disappears. This leads to questions about whether any of her stories are true. I'm very much looking forward to reading this as it has mystery, excitement and probably like with most Lisa Jewell's books that I've read so far, a plot twist. I can't wait to read this one.
You're going to start noticing a theme with some of these books on my TBR list but honestly I picked this up as it sounded like my cup of tea. I do love these murder mystery books, plus the title catched my eye. I also thought how funny it would be to read this in public. It's almost like I'm plotting murder. Obviously I'm not just clarifying. The story is about a married couple who also used to be serial killers. However, when the wife falls pregnant they decide to give up their killer ways and be normal. However, that urge comes back for one of them and they decide to do it again. This time the police come knocking on their door and perhaps their normal life they've built may soon come crashing down. I'm excited to read this as it's interesting to read from the perspective of the serial killers who are technically the bad guys but in a weird way, I'm looking forward to seeing if they can get away with it or not. Either way I'm excited to read this one as I'm sure it will have many twists and turns involved.
I stumbled across this book when I was in Tesco and didn't realise Holly Jackson had written a new book. I've read all of her books so far so I knew when I saw this, I had to get it. It's essentially about a woman who is trying to solve her own murder. Already, I'm hooked. A woman gets attacked by an intruder and suffers a head injury. The doctors have said she only has a week left to live. Now with so little time, she wants to try to solve who attacked her in the seven days she has left to live. She sees her family and friends in a new light as she doesn't have any known enemies. Her one goal is to solve her own murder. This already is getting me excited because it's a whole new concept. Normally the murder victim never has a chance to solve who killed them because often it's too late. This concept is intriguing and it's going to be interesting to see how she does it. I've loved all of Holly Jackson's books so far and I'm looking forward to reading this one too.
There we have it, those are all the books on my reading pile. Let me know if any of these are on yours or do you have other books on your reading pile, I'd love to hear your recommendations in the comments below.
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and I'll be back again soon with another post.
See you then.
