It's finally 2026 which is a scary year for me as in less than ten months time, I'm turning thirty which means I need to really check that list I made back in 2017 of 30 things to do before I'm 30 now I don't have much more time to complete. A link I will leave at the end of this post if you fancy checking it out. I was twenty one when I wrote it and to be honest didn't really check it much in these past nine years. I think I checked it once or twice but haven't really been keeping track. I have a feeling some things are out of the question but we shall see.
Back to the subject of this post, losing your mojo. As some of you are aware, last year was a little bit of a rollercoaster in terms of making posts. Particularly towards the end of the year where I had really lost my mojo for blogging as I didn't feel I was up to it. That's why I decided to be honest with you and take a break from blogging for a short period. It did help as I felt like the pressure of trying to produce content left me and that guilty feeling of not posting for a while went away as I had confirmed that I was taking a little break. Honestly, it's hard to know when you need to take some time out for yourself because we all need those moments to ourselves. Life can be so overwhelming sometimes with things like work or trying to please others but the reality is, you need to have these moments to take care of yourself.
I found as soon as that pressure and guilt had left, I could come back to blogging when I was ready. In fact, the mojo had started to come back to me a couple of days into the New Year. I knew I had time to prepare. I wasn't putting pressure on myself that as soon as I wrote a post, I had to publish it instantly. I gave myself time to work at my own place. I started planning my comeback to blogging, knowing what I wanted to do. I knew I wanted to come back with a week worth of posts but I also wanted to come back knowing I'd be ready to post at least once a week on this blog. I gave myself a mini deadline. I knew it wasn't the end of the world if I missed it as I was the only one that knew the deadline but it did make me determined to achieve it. In fact the deadline gave me a lot of motivation to write. What also helped was we had a snow day so I was stuck inside and chose it to work on this blog. Of course that's not always an excuse but it did help as it felt cosy working inside while I could see snow out of my window.
I did lose my mojo for a while but eventually it came back. This post isn't about giving advice on how to get your mojo back because we're all different. Some things that worked for others may not always work for you. I'm just telling my story of how unexpectedly my mojo for blogging came back. It can happen in the most unexpected way. The biggest thing you can take from this is don't put a lot of pressure on yourself and take some time out for yourself if you're feeling overwhelmed. These can help slowly bring your mojo back and possibly even make it better than it was before.
That's all I have to say for now. Thank you for taking the time to read my post, I hope it was helpful to any of you that may have felt like you've lost your mojo. I'll be back again soon with another post for you.
See you then.
