As Valentine's day is coming up, I thought I'd share a few date ideas with you. Now these ideas you can do with your partner, your friends or even on your own. It's up to you. These are just some fun ideas that I really like and thought I'd share with you. Let's get started.
Pizza Making Date
I've seen videos on social media of couples doing this and I think it's a really fun idea. It's a chance to spend time together, making pizza with the toppings you love and just having fun with it. My boyfriend and I are actually planning on doing this on Valentines day which is making me really excited. I can't even remember the last time I made a homemade pizza so I'm really looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
Cinema Date
Who doesn't love going to the cinema? I always love going to the cinema even though these days it's like spending a mortgage on food and drinks alone there. It's always a fun experience. I recently went to watch Zootropolis 2 and the new Spongebob movie with my boyfriend. Granted we were probably the oldest there especially with the Spongebob one but we were the ones laughing the loudest. I love just the immersion of the cinema, although my pet peeve is those people who get their phones out. Like it's not cheap to go to the cinema anymore why are you looking at your phone and drawing all eyes on you because guess what, everyone is looking at you. You're not being discreet. Pet peeve aside, the cinema is always a great outing and even greater if it's a good movie to see.
Arcade
Going to an arcade is fun because you can get competitive with your partner or your friends. Try to earn as many tickets as possible to earn an okay prize at the end. It's just fun and there's always so many different games in an arcade to choose from. It's fun. We have an arcade in my local pier which my boyfriend and I have gone to a lot which is always fun. Although I think we've become so used to it that I think we need to look for a new arcade somewhere else which is still exciting as every arcade is different. It's still a fun thing to do. I could spend hours on the penny machines alone.
Doing art together
I'm someone who is very creative, especially more recently. I like to do art everyday. At the moment I'm going through my wreck it journal, trying to do every prompt. I think I have less than twenty prompts to go at the moment which may seem like a lot but this book is like a 200 page book so the amount I've done is already a lot. Because I like to be creative, I feel like doing art with your partner is a fun idea. I actually have bought something for valentines day for my partner and I do that is creative which I'm excited about. Art can be anything, it can be from painting to doing a colouring book or even completing a lego set together which is another thing I really want to do as it's just fun. I did invest in a Hogwarts set which I'm debating to do on my own or with my partner. We shall see.
Playing a video game
Another competitive idea is playing a video game together. There's so many two player games out there so the choices are endless. You can be competitive or you can have a relaxing fun game. We recently played Powerwash Simulator 2 which was really fun to play as it was split screen and just fun. We did get competitive over different sections. I always went for the roof. We'd also tease each other if at the end one of us missed something in our sections at the end. However, it's a fun and satisfying game to play. Plus there's a lot of levels in it, although we actually managed to complete all of them. We're now trying to find a new two player splitscreen game to play so any ideas in the comments below would be greatly appreciated.
Dinner date
Finally, sometimes a good old fashioned dinner date is the perfect thing to do with your significant other or friends. Anything that involves food is always good. Now I'm not saying go to the fanciest restaurant in the world, it can be as simple as Wetherspoons or a Toby Cavery or just any themed restaurant you like such as Italian, Chinese or Indian. It can even be getting a takeaway. Yet there's something nice about going out with your partner and having a meal together. From being single for a long time, going out for dinner with my boyfriend, I can finally be a little bit smug like look at me, I have a boyfriend. I'm sure a lot of us who have been single for a while and finally get into a relationship feel the same as me. Just a little bit. Either going out for dinner is always nice, especially food you both can enjoy.
Anyway, those are my date ideas. Hopefully, you've been inspired for this weekend whether you do one of these things or all of them. It's going to be a fun weekend.
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and I'll be back again soon with another post for you.
See you then.
