Do you ever get ads and recommendations on your feed that you just can't resist sometimes? I don't click on them but often I will google the product to see if it's legit. One thing that has been popping up is this Cryptic Killers where you are playing a detective trying to solve a murder.
I thought this could be interesting as I watch a lot of true crime, maybe I could be good at solving a murder so I did it. I bought one of their case files.
The case I got was Murder At The Movie Theatre because it sounded intriguing.
When it arrives, it's in an evidence bag which is pretty cool and it feels like you've been handed a real case file.
The first thing I did when I opened it was look through all the different bits of evidence. There's also an evidence checklist to check if you have everything which luckily for me I did. I then eventually put it all into categories like with all the suspect profiles and interviews. One thing I would recommend is having a note pad with you as you're going to take a lot of notes and sometimes it helps me. I went through the evidence first before moving onto the suspect profiles which worked for me as I started to make connections early on with some of the evidence. Like there was a eureka moment when I got to the suspect profile when I was like aha, that's this guy from this piece of evidence.
At one stage, you have to go online to a police database to uncover more evidence but you need to work out the password first. I did this after going through all the evidence which helped me a bit as it felt like it was the final pieces being put together. It contained photos and audio recordings plus one video. It definitely filled in the gaps.
Finally it was time to piece the evidence and the alibis together of each of the suspects which was a little tricky but you start to notice patterns and if you're able to place where people were during the supposed time of death then you start to narrow it down.
Finally, I was able to narrow it down and you put the answer on the Cryptic Killers website then you get one final News webpage about the murderer. I was quite thrilled that my guess was correct, I had hoped I hadn't missed anything. You can also look at hints on the Cryptic Killers website if you're stuck. It will give you little hints but if you're really struggling then it will reveal the answer. I did this once or twice but it was more to confirm a theory I had.
So yeah, I had a lot of fun. It took me offline for a while and I could just focus.on trying to figure out the different clues and evidence. I loved it so much that I've bought another one which is the Murder Of A Millionaire which I'm excited to get. I did this on my own but you can do it as a couple or in a group. I'm not sure if I'd prefer it in a couple or a group setting but then it might make it go quicker. Especially if you're taking notes and having discussions then it could work. I didn't actually write on any of the pages, even though there is space to write under the suspects because maybe one day I will come back to it or do it with my boyfriend maybe. Who knows?
Definitely would recommend getting one of these Cryptic Killers, I thoroughly enjoyed this one and I'm excited to get the next one.
That's all I have to say for now. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and I'll be back again soon with another post.
See you then.
