Mallorca Photo Journal
Finally back from my holiday and back to reality. I thought I'd share a photo journal of my trip to Mallorca. It was a family holiday where there were twelve of us altogether. Seven adults and five children. I had an amazing experience and here are the photos of my experience. Let's get started.
As there were twelve of us, there were a lot of suitcases. Never travelled with so much luggage before. I only had my suitcase and a backpack so I didn't have a lot to worry about. Plus as I had a purple suitcase at least mine would stand out in baggage claim.
We flew from Bristol airport and it was a nice flight. I had a window seat both ways. It was a nice view as it was an afternoon flight. My ears popped in the landing which sucked but what can you do? I tried the different methods, sucking sweets and earbuds in but they still popped.
It was a lovely hotel we stayed in. It was a HYB Eurocalas and it was a lovely resort. It had different buildings which had one bedroom apartments to your standard double room. I stayed in a one bedroom apartment with my older brother and his partner plus her child. I was on the sofa bed. It was a nice apartment with a kitchen and everything. Although we were all inclusive so we didn't have to worry too much about buying supplies for the room. It was mainly drinks to have in the room. There was also a water park on site which I felt like a kid as I went down the water slides. It was so fun and reminded me that you're never too old to go down a waterslide.
I definitely took advantage of the free drinks by ordering many pina coladas and malibu with coke. It was great.
I found myself waking up early in the morning because of my job, I naturally woke up early and one morning there was this beautiful sunrise which was lovely to see. Another reason to wake up early was we were that family that went down to put towels on sunbeds. I think because there were a lot of us and we wanted a good spot to be able to watch the kids in the group at the pool, that was the reason why. It became a part of the morning routine because the sunbeds would go really quickly. We only got in trouble on the last morning where a note was left saying it was forbidden to reserve sunbeds but as it was our last day, that didn't bother us. I think it was a warning that if we did it again then they'd move our towels somewhere.
Of course we did venture out of our hotel. We did go to the beach one day and it was lovely being in the clear sea. There were a lot of lovely views on our walk and I couldn't believe how clear the water was. It was so warm though it was between twenty eight to thirty one degrees. It was really nice though.
Of course we went to lunch and had calamari. This was really delicious.
A lot of the time I found myself by the pool and it's a tradition for me to do sudoku. I just love doing it while listening to music. It's very relaxing for me, especially with the sound of the pool and the holiday atmosphere. It was great. My dad did end up stealing my sudoku book from time to time as he was the one that got me into sudoku but that was fine.
Our room was on the eighth floor and there was only one very small lift which was very annoying as there were a lot of us. There was a second lift but that didn't work. One day though the button looked like this which was a scary moment. The lift still worked but it was a pain and at one point it got pushed in. Eventually maintenance came to fix it one day and luckily they fixed the second lift on our last couple of days so there were two working lifts and the eight button was fixed. That was a relief.
I bought a pack of cards with me on holiday and in the evening we'd have a game of rummy while waiting for the entertainment. Definitely bring a pack of cards if there's a big group of you as it's a fun way to bond but also to pass the time in the evening. My step sister bought uno for two euros so one evening we had a game of uno which was a fun evening. My family is very competitive so it makes game nights even more exciting.
We went for a meal one evening and I had these beef udon noodles which were really delicious. It was juicy beef and really tasty.
On the second to last day, we went to Marineland which was always exciting. This was a place I've been twice previously and this would have been my third time now. It brings back so many memories. I like seeing the different animals. Of course what you're really going there is to see the shows.
The sea lions were incredible, they played a spanish version of You'll Be In My Heart while the trainer danced in the water with the Sea Lion which was so beautiful.
Of course there was also the Dolphin show which is always incredible to watch and definitely a personal favourite as they are my favourite animal.
One unexpected thing that happened was we enquired about a dolphin experience. Originally it was going to be to feed the dolphins and take a picture with them. We ended up having an experience where we would get in the water and actually interact with them which honestly was an incredible experience. We had a dolphin called Danski and it was incredible. There was another option to swim with the dolphins but that was more pricey. This experience was another and we were able to take photos with the dolphin which was really nice.
After the dolphin experience, we had a little bit of time to go view the aquarium which was nice to see all the different fish. Always got to find Nemo and Dory but all the fish were really pretty to look at.
Finally that was the end of our holiday and it was time to go back on the plane to go home.
I ended up watching Mr Bean's Holiday on my tablet on the way back which is always a fun movie to watch to get you in the holiday mood.
It was an evening flight so I was able to get this nice shot of the sunset from my window seat which was really nice.
That was my Mallorca photo journal. It was a lovely family holiday and I can't believe it's over. Mallorca is a lovely place to visit and this would have been my third time visiting. I don't have any plans to go abroad again this year but hopefully next year. I am going on a caravan holiday in July which I'm really looking forward to so that will be a fun break.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog and I'll be back again soon with another post.
See you then.
