My Caravan Holiday
Hi everyone!
Last friday I just came back from a lovely five day break in Tenby. I went with my mum and we stayed in a caravan at Haven Kiln Park in Tenby. It was so lovely because with a haven holiday you get the entertainment, arcade, lots of options for food plus you're so near the beach. It was really nice. I took a lot of photos on my holiday and I thought I'd share them with you in a photo journal. Let's get started.

The caravan we stayed in was a three bedroom one. We used the spare room as a storage room which was handy as the little bedrooms are small and barely have any space in them. The actual caravan itself was spacious with a L sofa which also turned into a bed and a little dining table. It also has a kitchen with a hob, oven, microwave and fridge which is ideal for self catering. It was like a home from home.
This was my bedroom which as you can see wasn't very spacious. It did have shelves and an open wardrobe where you can hang your clothes. Plus a mirror with a shelf as well. I found it rather cosy.
We made the most of going to the Marina Bar which had entertainment. Most nights it had kids entertainment in the beginning then bingo or a game show then a singing performance at the end. It was really nice. One night we watched a Jack and the Beanstalk Pantomime which was really good. They have amazing vocalists in Kiln Park.
We ordered many drinks and it had the QR code so they could bring drinks and even food straight to your table which was handy. I also love that kind of ordering because I find it easier to decide what I want. One great thing was the venue had wifi because the rest of the caravan site barely had any signal so I spent the majority of this holiday offline which was actually quite nice.
We played Bingo on our first night which was only a £1 a ticket which is really cheap. One downside was that the ticket wasn't in number order but that was my only gripe with this game. It had themes plus every now and then they would include other challenges like turning the card upside down or swapping your bingo card with another person. It also had moments where you could win extra prizes.
Now I've won two games of Bingo in my lifetime and the first night, me and my mum didn't think we had a chance as we had very little numbers. However, numbers kept playing one after the other and my mum kept stamping. In the end she won it which was crazy as she was quite far behind but sometimes you get lucky with bingo. The prize was this monkey toy which was quite funny but I grew attached to it as it was quite cute and I do love a monkey. I also felt slightly bad as there were a number of families with kids who only had one number left and my mum had practically robbed them of winning this toy but either way the point of playing bingo is to win and my mum won it so I didn't feel so guilty.
One thing I did before leaving was download a bunch of movies and programmes on my tablet which I'm so glad I did as there was no signal in the caravan. This was one morning where I was eating my cereal while watching Eastenders. Also everytime we went to the marina bar I would download the episode of Eastenders on my phone so I could watch it the next morning. That's how I was able to catch up on my Eastenders for the week. We also bought Kellogg multipack cereals which were handy for breakfast every morning.
One idea I had before we left was buying a Jigsaw puzzle to do during the week which again was handy for the lack of signal but it was also fun to do. I do love doing a jigsaw puzzle as I get very invested plus it's so satisfying when you start putting more and more pieces down.
I also ended up pushing the two beds together to make a double bed which gave me a lot more space as the single beds were quite narrow. I used all the spare duvets that we had in the caravan to put over the beds and make it a bit more comfortable.
We also visited the town of Tenby and even went to the beach. It had an easy walkway to the town as well as to the Beach. We were very lucky with the weather as it was lovely all week.
We sat on the beach where I did a bit of reading. I was reading With Love From the Morisaki Bookshop which is a duology of the two books by Satoshi Yagisawa. It was a nice cosy read and I've been thoroughly enjoying it. I've nearly finished the first book and I'm looking forward to finishing the sequel. I noticed they're not long books but it's quite nice as it makes for an easy holiday read.
I also finished the puzzle which I was so proud of. A 500 piece puzzle is also not that big so it doesn't take that much room on the tablet. This was quite tricky when it came to the books on the bookshelves but eventually it all came together. My biggest fear is thinking a piece is missing and it won't complete. That nearly happened when I completed the puzzle with a piece missing but I found it in the bag the puzzle came in which was such a relief. I actually completed this in one day and it only took a few hours but I did get invested in this puzzle.
I downloaded two movies which were A Simple Favor and Another Simple Favor. I originally watched the first movie in the cinema when it came out. I think there was nothing else on and I fancied watching a movie. No idea what to expect. I thoroughly enjoyed it as it had many plot twists in it. I heard a sequel had come out and I thought I'd refresh my memory with the first one before watching the sequel. I did enjoy both movies. They do have a sort of bizarre weirdness to them but they were good fun to watch. Still had a fun little mystery and whodunnit in them which made it all more interesting. Plus Emily's outfits are always so cool to see. I wish I was outgoing with my fashion choices but I'm not.
We went out for lunch one day and went to the Seaview Restaurant. It had a lovely view of the beach and the food was delicious. I had scampi and chips which were very generous with their portion sizes. Definitely a nice place to go for lunch.
Of course I had to go to the arcade as I love an arcade. I'm a big kid who enjoys getting tickets, playing on the penny machines and just playing the different games on offer. I ended up getting about 300 tickets where I got an oompa loompa keyring and a couple of sweets. Was it worth it? Probably not but I had a lot of fun.
There was a monkey in my bed, I have yet to name him.
I couldn't get over the view of the tenby beach, it really is a lovely seaside town and I highly recommend going to visit it.
One thing we did a lot at around 3pm was Four In The Bed on More 4. It's a TV show where four sets of B&B owners go to stay in eachothers hotels and basically rate them. They then pay what they think their stay is worth which can lead to either paying the exact amount, underpaying or overpaying. The winner is the average amount that was paid in total. It's quite fun to watch because you do get some owners that are obviously game playing. It's hilarious to what extent people will go to find dirt and dust where that's pulling sheets off the mattress, digging into the sofa. It was definitely something to keep me entertained in the afternoon and while I would get ready for the evening. It was part of a daily routine at around 3pm when we would be relaxing in the caravan. It's why I had to mention it in this post.
The final day I put the beds back to the way we were. I'm not going to lie, the five days we flew by and I felt like I could stay there longer.
After leaving Tenby we decided to visit the next town which was Saundersfoot. Sadly I think we went too early in the morning as there wasn't a lot open or there to see. There was a nice harbour and beach so we didn't stay there too long, just had a walk around before travelling back home.
There we have it, that was my caravan holiday in Tenby. It was a nice relaxing break away and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely a well deserved break. I hope to come back to Tenby soon or maybe visit a different Haven Holiday Park in the future. Let me know if you have any recommendations for caravan holidays in the UK. I'd love to get some ideas and recommendations from you all.
Anyway, that's all I have to say for now. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and I'll be back again soon with another post.
See you then.
