Favourite Xmas Decorations

I don't know about you but I love decorating the house for Xmas. It just makes everything so cosy and the house more exciting than usual. On top of that you have familiar decorations. I don't know about these people that go out and buy a whole load of other decorations. There is just something about the familiarity of your decorations that you've had for years. Even some from when you were a child. I thought I'd share some of my favourite decorations.

Let's get started.
I bought this two years ago because we had a snow globe when I was a child which had a Santa and snowman in it and honestly I loved it. I remember seeing this in the shop and knew I had to get it. This one is by the chair I sit in the living room and most evenings, I'll just shake it for fun. I don't know why they give this satisfying feeling but snow globes really give this satisfying feeling whenever you shake them. It may be a few seconds of joy but honestly I don't know anything that can replicate that feeling. This is definitely one of my favourite decorations.
I had to mention a decoration with my name on it. I think our tree has a few personalised ones on it but this one is my favourite because we've had it for years. I think I've had this since I was a child but I can't remember. It's a struggle to remember pre divorced parents and post divorced parents. Either way I just love this one because I have a soft spot for teddy bears and a guilty pleasure with things that have my name on it. Therefore this is on my favourite Xmas decorations list.
This is an interesting one because it's actually homemade. I think I made this when I was in the Guides but it's such a simple but brilliant idea. Getting a circular template and sticking jigsaw pieces on it before coating it in glue. It's like a homemade wreath in a way. I just love it because for starters I made it myself but it's a nice little decoration that has lasted a long time so it's nice we can hang it up every year. I think homemade decorations are better than store bought ones because it adds a bit of personality. However, moving on with this list I realised this is the only homemade decoration and the rest are store bought but this one is definitely one of my favourite tree decorations.
This angel has been in my family since before I was even born. I don't actually know if my parents got this on my first Xmas or before then. I just know it was there on my first Christmas because it was on our home video. Either way I love this Christmas angel because it's such a familiar decoration and she used to be able to sit on top of the tree but now she sort of slouches on the branches. I guess it's been 26 years and she deserves a break. Either way this decoration brings out all the nostalgia for me and I love it.
This is very random but this year, I kind of went with a nutcracker theme with my Christmas bedding as well as this guy. I saw this guy and I just knew I had to have him. I think it's a cute decoration to have in the home and this one actually resides in my bedroom. It's one of those decorations that I'm obsessed with this year and I have a similar one from last year which brings me to the final Xmas decoration.
It's a Gonk! I have no idea where the obsession with gonks came from but I remember seeing them all last year and when I saw this guy in Poundland I knew I had to have him. It's one of those things that just makes you happy but you can't put into words why it just does. This Gonk and the nutcracker are bringing me so much unexplainable joy that I'll be sad in January when I have to say goodbye to them again.

Honestly, I just love decorating the house with Xmas decorations and these are a few of my favourites that I love seeing every year. Let me know what your favourite Xmas decorations are. I'd love to hear it.

Thank you for reading my blog and I'll be back tomorrow with another post.

See you then.
